Chapter 16 - Assassin 5

The moonlight flickered as Tsukasa and his companions, Elara and Lumi, made their way through the streets of the capital. The atmosphere was thick with tension, knowing that trouble was looming just beneath the surface.

In the shadows, hidden away from the bustle of the city, Lord Vaelric Drenmor watched with cold, calculating eyes. His mind was already set on one thing: the mysterious guy. He had been keeping tabs on him for some time, intrigued by the unknown power he wielded. A power unlike any he had seen before. A power that felt as though it didn't belong in this world.

"I must know what kind of creature he is," Vaelric muttered to himself as he glanced at the assassin standing nearby. "When do we move against him? His presence is a threat to everything."

The assassin, Veyra, stood with his hands folded behind his back, his expression unreadable. "Soon, Lord Vaelric. The time will come when his true nature will be revealed." His eyes glinted with anticipation. "But first, I must eliminate him."

A faint smile tugged at the corner of Vaelric's lips. "Do not fail me. If you do, there will be no more chances."

Meanwhile, Tsukasa, Lumi, and Elara had entered a quieter part of the capital. The tension in the air was palpable as they made their way through a narrow alleyway, unaware that they were being watched from the shadows.

Lumi glanced over her shoulder, sensing the eyes on them. "We're being followed."

Tsukasa, ever calm, gave a lazy grin. "Let them follow. We've got time."

Elara gave him a concerned look. "You say that, but there's something off about this place."

"Noted," Tsukasa replied, his voice casual but with an underlying sense of caution. "But we'll be fine."

Suddenly, a shadow leaped from the rooftops, landing in front of them. Veyra, the assassin, had made his move. His twin daggers gleamed in the moonlight as he spoke with a low, deadly voice.

"Your journey ends here, mysterious guy. The Lord has ordered your elimination."

Tsukasa barely flinched, his hand slowly reaching for his Decadriver. "I see. Well, if it's a fight you want…"

He transformed quickly, a brilliant flash of light illuminating the alley as his form shifted into his mysterious guy form, his armor now a perfect blend of sleek black and vibrant pink, glowing with a mystic energy that radiated from his body.

As Veyra moved to strike, Lumi and Elara remained in the background, watching with intense focus.

But something unexpected happened.

A girl priest, who had been quietly observing from the shadows, witnessed the transformation. Her wide eyes were fixed on Tsukasa as his power unfolded before her. She gasped, stepping forward from the darkness, unable to look away from the dazzling display.

"Wha... what is this?!" she whispered in awe, her voice trembling. The scene in front of her was unlike anything she had ever seen before. Tsukasa—or the "mysterious guy" as she could only guess—was using magic with such ease. But it wasn't just one magic. It was four different kinds of magic, all swirling around him, interlocking and complementing each other, and not a single chant had been uttered.

"How can he…?" The girl priest was mesmerized by the sight. To her, this wasn't just a battle. It was an experience. Magic like this was thought to be impossible, and here he was, wielding it like it was second nature.

Meanwhile, the battle between Tsukasa and Veyra continued. The assassin launched a flurry of strikes, each one faster than the last, but Tsukasa was unbothered. He dodged and countered with a level of ease that made it seem like he wasn't even trying. Every time Veyra thought he had an opening, Tsukasa would slip away, his movements fluid and effortless.

A sharp strike from Veyra aimed for Tsukasa's side, but he was already there, catching the assassin's wrist mid-air with the lightest of touches. With a swift twist, Tsukasa disarmed him, sending the daggers clattering to the ground. He looked down at Veyra, who was now struggling to regain his footing.

"You're fast, I'll give you that," Tsukasa said, his voice as calm as ever. "But you're not quite fast enough."

The girl priest, still mesmerized, looked on in wonder as Tsukasa stepped back from the fallen assassin. The display of power, of magic without chants, left her speechless.

"This is beyond anything I've ever seen," she murmured to herself, her mind racing to comprehend what she had just witnessed.

Tsukasa turned his head toward the girl priest, his eyes narrowing slightly. For a brief moment, he considered whether he should say something, but then shrugged it off. "I guess there's no hiding what I am, huh?" he muttered to himself.

He turned his attention back to Veyra, who was attempting to get up. "Do you want to keep going, or is this enough for you?" Tsukasa asked, almost bored.

Veyra didn't answer, his frustration growing as he tried to steady himself.

Lord Vaelric, observing from afar, clenched his fists. "This mysterious guy... he is more powerful than I could have imagined." His cold eyes flickered with intrigue and rage. "But he will fall, just as the others before him."
