Chapter 17 - Assassin'End

The battle in the alley reached its peak as Tsukasa effortlessly toyed with Veyra. The assassin, struggling to keep up, was visibly losing ground. Tsukasa's every movement was calculated and precise, dodging strikes, blocking attacks, and countering with ease. It was clear that Veyra was outmatched.

Tsukasa, his body moving with fluid grace, stepped forward one last time. Veyra, breathless and desperate, attempted to strike, but Tsukasa was already there, his hand gripping the assassin's wrist in a vice-like hold. With a swift twist, he broke the arm and sent Veyra to the ground with a heavy thud.

Lumi and Elara remained silent, watching from the sidelines as Tsukasa's power continued to overwhelm their opponent. But the moment was far from over.

The girl priest, still in awe of the display, took a hesitant step forward, her eyes wide with shock. She had never seen magic like this before. She had never seen a person wield so much power with such ease, without so much as a chant. The sight was mesmerizing, and she couldn't help but feel both fear and admiration.

Tsukasa turned his head toward the girl priest, sensing her presence. He glanced over his shoulder at the struggling assassin, and then back at her. "You might want to step back," he said, his voice as nonchalant as ever. "This might get messy."

Without waiting for a response, Tsukasa tightened his grip on Veyra, lifting the assassin off the ground. With a single motion, he threw Veyra into the stone wall of the alley, the impact echoing through the empty streets. Blood trickled from the assassin's mouth as he crumpled to the ground.

Veyra, unable to move, looked up at Tsukasa, his eyes filled with disbelief. "You... You really are something else..." he whispered, his voice a strained rasp.

Tsukasa gave him a cold look. "I told you. Don't mess with me." He turned away from Veyra, his back now to the defeated assassin, his attention on the girl priest who had been watching everything unfold.

The girl priest finally found her voice, her tone trembling as she spoke. "Who... who are you? What are you?"

Tsukasa paused, glancing over his shoulder at her, but this time his expression was unreadable. He shrugged. "Does it really matter?" he replied simply, before turning and walking off. "You'll probably never understand, but that's how it is."

Lord Vaelric Drenmor, still hidden in the shadows, clenched his fist in frustration. The assassin, his best tool, had failed. His power was vast, and the mysterious guy had proven too dangerous to be taken lightly.

As Tsukasa and his companions walked away, the assassin's fate was sealed. Veyra, battered and broken, knew there was no escaping the cold grip of death. His final thoughts were filled with frustration and admiration, knowing that he had met someone far beyond his ability to defeat.

The girl priest, still in shock, watched as Tsukasa disappeared into the distance. She stood there for a moment longer, still processing everything she had seen.
