Chapter 22 - Kidnapped

The city of Dravorn was in chaos. Whispers filled the air as rumors spread of Tsukasa's involvement in Lira's "disappearance." The nobles whispered in fear and excitement, while the common folk murmured amongst themselves, unsure of who to trust. The truth was being distorted, twisted by the dark hands of Lord Vaelric Drenmor, who had orchestrated a devious plot to eliminate the mysterious warrior once and for all.

It was a quiet evening when the trap was set. Lira, unaware of the full extent of the danger she was in, was walking through the city streets, still reeling from the previous events. She hadn't spoken to Tsukasa since their narrow escape, and the unease in her heart only deepened. She wasn't sure what to do, but she knew one thing: Tsukasa needed her. She had to be by his side.

But as she passed through a darkened alley, the air grew thick with a sense of foreboding.

A shadow darted out from the darkness, moving too quickly for her to react. Before Lira could cry out, a strong arm grabbed her, pulling her into the shadows.

"Quiet, girl," a harsh voice whispered in her ear. "You're coming with us."

Lira struggled, but the grip was too strong. She was dragged deeper into the alley, the sound of footsteps echoing in the distance.

Inside the Drenmor estate, Lord Vaelric sat before a large, ornate mirror, his fingers running over the dark sigils that decorated its surface. A twisted smile played on his lips as he stared into the reflection, watching the scene unfold.

"Finally," Vaelric murmured to himself, "The pieces are falling into place."

He had orchestrated Lira's abduction with careful precision. The rumors had spread like wildfire, convincing the people that Tsukasa was a dangerous kidnapper who had taken Lira for reasons unknown. The soldiers were already moving, preparing to hunt him down.

But Vaelric knew the truth. He had plans for Lira — plans that would lure the mysterious warrior into his grasp.

Back in the alley, Lira was dragged into a dark, cold chamber. Her captors shoved her into a chair, tying her down with ropes that bit into her skin. She struggled against them, but it was no use. The ropes were too tight, and her strength was waning.

"What do you want with me?" she demanded, her voice steady but filled with fear.

One of the captors, a grim-faced man, stepped forward and sneered at her. "You'll be the bait, girl. The mysterious warrior will come for you, and when he does..."

He didn't finish his sentence. The implication was clear. Lira's heart pounded in her chest, her mind racing as she thought of Tsukasa. Would he come? Would he risk everything for her?

She knew he would. Tsukasa didn't seem like the kind of person who abandoned those he cared for.

Meanwhile, Tsukasa was walking the streets of Dravorn, his mind focused on the ominous feeling that had been lingering ever since he left the temple with Lira. His instincts were telling him something was wrong. He could feel the weight of eyes watching him, tracking his every move. His hand instinctively rested on the Decadriver at his waist.

"Something's not right," Tsukasa muttered to himself, his senses sharpened.

Just as he turned a corner, he was met with the sound of approaching footsteps — but not from the direction he expected. A dozen soldiers burst from the shadows, surrounding him in an instant.

"Move," Tsukasa ordered, his voice low and commanding. But the soldiers didn't flinch. They were there for a reason.

"You're coming with us," one of the soldiers barked, his hand gripping a sword hilt. "You've been accused of kidnapping Lady Lira. You'll answer for your crimes."

Tsukasa's eyes narrowed, a flicker of irritation crossing his face. "Kidnapping? You're mistaken," he said calmly. "But I have no intention of letting you take me."

With a swift motion, Tsukasa drew the Decadriver and activated it, his body shifting into a battle-ready stance. His transformation sequence was fast, fluid — but even as the armor materialized, his mind was focused on Lira.

"Stay out of my way."

With a flick of his wrist, he summoned his blade and cut through the soldiers surrounding him, his movements too fast for them to react. One by one, they fell, but Tsukasa wasn't concerned with them. His focus was entirely on Lira.

Back at the Drenmor estate, Vaelric's smirk deepened as he saw Tsukasa's approach. He had planned everything down to the finest detail. The warriors were dispatched to keep him busy, while he prepared the final stage of his trap.

"Let's see how much of a warrior you really are, Mysterious Guy," Vaelric muttered, his fingers tracing the dark sigils once more. "Let's see if you can defeat my hidden power."

Tsukasa moved through the city with deadly efficiency, his senses locked onto the faintest traces of Lira's presence. His heart quickened, the urgency in his steps growing. Every second that passed felt like an eternity, and his anger boiled with each soldier he knocked aside. He couldn't lose Lira. Not now.

Finally, he reached the grand gates of the Drenmor estate, his eyes scanning the surroundings. The doors opened as if on cue, revealing Vaelric standing in the courtyard, his arms outstretched in mock welcome.

"Welcome, Mysterious Guy," Vaelric called out, his voice dripping with malice. "I trust you've come for her. But before you do, you'll have to face me."

Tsukasa's eyes glowed with a quiet fury. "Where is she?" he demanded, his voice cold.

Vaelric's smile widened. "She's safe... for now. But you'll never get her back unless you prove you're worthy. Only if you can defeat me."

"I don't have time for games," Tsukasa growled, his hand tightening on the hilt of his blade.

The two clashed in a violent explosion of power. Tsukasa's strikes were precise, swift, but Vaelric matched him with an array of dark magic, summoning arcane blasts that seemed to defy the laws of nature. The air around them crackled with energy, and the ground beneath their feet trembled.

But Tsukasa wasn't distracted. He was focused on one thing — Lira.

In the distance, he heard a faint sound — a cry for help. It came from inside the estate.

With renewed strength, Tsukasa surged forward, breaking through Vaelric's defenses and charging into the estate.

Lira was waiting.
