Rika walked behind her father as they stepped into the new housing society. The place was called Tona Brothers Residency, and it looked decent—spacious apartments, clean surroundings, and a small park in the middle.
Her father had contacted an agent to show them around. But as soon as the man arrived, he greeted them with a wide grin.
"Welcome! I'm Fujimoto Kenji, and I'll be showing you around today!"
Something about him felt strangely familiar, but Rika ignored it.
As they walked through the society, Kenji started talking about the place like it was his second home.
"This building is one of the best in Tokyo. Safe, spacious, and full of wonderful people!"
Rika raised an eyebrow. "You sure know a lot about this place."
Kenji laughed."Well, of course! I live here!"
Rika: "...Huh?"
Before she could question it, he pulled out his phone. "Let's sit down and talk. I'll call someone to bring us some drinks."
They settled onto a wooden bench near the society park. Rika's father asked about the building facilities, the security, and the rent.
But Rika was half-listening—something about Kenji was bugging her.
A few minutes later, a boy in a black tracksuit walked up, carrying a tray with a few bottles of cold drinks. His movements were smooth, and he had this natural confidence in the way he walked.
Kenji turned to him and said, "Thanks, Akito."
Rika took the bottle and absentmindedly glanced at the boy.
That's when Kenji casually introduced him.
"Oh, by the way, this is my nephew. Shun's cousin."
Rika almost choked on her drink.
"Wait, WHAT?!"
The boy, Akito, looked at her, confused. "Uh… do I know you?"
Rika's brain short-circuited.
"What are the chances?! First, I end up in Shun's school, and now his FAMILY is showing us our house?!"
Kenji laughed at her reaction. "Oh? You know Shun?"
Rika quickly looked away. "N-Not really! I just… heard his name before."
Akito, who had been standing there with zero context, just nodded slowly."Uh, okay?"
Rika groaned internally. This city is too damn small.
