The next day, Fang woke early as the sun's rays filtered through her window, making her squint. She turned to call out to Syaoran—but he was nowhere to be found.
She got up and searched around the mountain but couldn't find him. Resigned, she went down to get ready for school. Crossing the road, she hesitated at the doorstep of her house.
As she stepped inside, her father suddenly appeared behind her, clamping a hand over her mouth and trying to tie her up. Fang struggled, gathering every bit of courage to call for help.
Meanwhile, Syaoran had returned to the mountain to look for clues to return to his own world. Suddenly, he caught Fang's scent. Following it, he arrived just in time to see her father tying her up.
Furious, Syaoran let out a piercing wolf howl and kicked the man away. Fang's mother rushed out, but seeing the chaos, she ran to help her husband instead.
Tears streamed down Fang's face as she cowered behind Syaoran. He crouched beside her, wiping her tears gently and said firmly, "Close your eyes."
Obediently, Fang shut her eyes. Syaoran released his magic, and a soft light washed over the parents, making them forget Fang's presence before they both collapsed unconscious.
He patted Fang's head and asked, voice a little sharper than usual, "What are you doing here? Why didn't you tell me you were coming? What if I hadn't arrived in time?"
Opening her eyes, Fang wiped her tears and replied, "I came to get my school uniform. I have to go to school. And thank you for saving me." She added with a sly smile, "I even left a note in the sand for you, but you didn't see it. So why are you yelling at me?"
Syaoran blinked in surprise. "Don't slap me," he said, rubbing his hand. "I saved you, and this is the attitude I get?"
Fang held back tears, then corrected him, "It's 'school,' not 'sch'." She went inside, changed into her school uniform, and packed her things along with some money.
Handing him a set of her father's clothes, she said, "You should wear this."
"Why?" Syaoran asked, confused.
"You're dropping me at school," Fang said firmly.
He glanced at her, annoyance flickering in his eyes. "Ordering me around now? I was a king in my kingdom, but here, I'm your servant?" With a sigh, he changed into the clothes.

Meanwhile, far away in Lycaconia, Syaoran's mother was distraught. She ordered her soldiers to search every corner of their world and find the king by day's end.
Soldiers fanned out—some to the city, others to the riverside, and some to the mountains. Suddenly, one soldier caught a faint scent of Syaoran's unique aura. He signaled the others to regroup at the mountains.
Despite their efforts, no one could find any trace of the missing king.
