Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 7: The Glow Within

The Queen was panicked. Her hands trembled as she asked, "What happened to it?"

The adviser replied urgently, "Your Majesty, there's no time. We must see it now. I'll bring His Majesty's grandfather at once."

The Queen nodded anxiously. As the adviser rushed off, she went straight to the hidden chamber. Inside, the room pulsed with unstable magical energy. Soon, the King's grandfather arrived. The Queen turned to him immediately.

"Please," she pleaded, "tell me what's happening."

He studied the flickering color of the magic in the room, stroked his beard, and finally spoke.

"His Majesty's life is not in danger. You need not worry, Your Majesty."

The Queen's eyes narrowed. "Then why is the magic fluctuating like this?"

Even the adviser looked confused, nodding in agreement.

The grandfather replied calmly, "This only means His Majesty's body is overflowing with power. He must have received a powerful energy surge. As long as he rests, he'll recover just fine."

Relief washed over the Queen, her maid, and the adviser. The Queen asked quietly, "Do you know where he is now?"

He shook his head. "No. But he is safe. His Majesty will return—we just have to wait for him."

The Queen's eyes softened as she looked at the glowing room, and she clasped her hands together in prayer. Please... let my son be safe.

Meanwhile, in Fang's world, morning sunlight filtered into the small mountain house.

Fang stirred awake and immediately noticed Syaoran lying beside her—unmoving. Panic surged through her. She rushed to his side and splashed water on his face.

After a few seconds, he blinked and slowly sat up.

"Are you okay?" she asked, voice laced with concern.

He blinked slowly. "I'm fine... probably just tired from yesterday."

But in truth, Syaoran felt like a storm was brewing inside him. His body thrummed with energy, as if he could take down mountains with a single blow.

Fang frowned. "Then you should rest for a few days. I'll go to school alone. And if anything's wrong, please tell me, alright?"

Still surprised by the energy inside him, Syaoran nodded slowly. After she left, he sat cross-legged and began to meditate, trying to calm and balance the overwhelming power coursing through him.

That night, they ate together under the quiet glow of moonlight.

As Syaoran chewed thoughtfully, he found himself staring at her. Noticing his gaze, Fang raised an eyebrow.

"What?" she asked. "Do I have something on my face?"

He quickly shook his head. "No... it's nothing."

They both lay down to sleep. But Syaoran couldn't relax. Something was still bothering him. He glanced at her peaceful face, hesitated for a moment, and finally whispered:

"Fang... can I ask you something?"

She turned over and nodded, half-asleep. "Hmm? What is it?"

Syaoran looked serious. "Do you... have any superpowers?"

Fang blinked—and then burst into laughter. "What kind of question is that, Syaoran?"

"I'm serious!" he said, sitting up. "Tell me the truth."

Still smiling, she said, "I don't have any superpowers, but..."

He leaned in. "But what?"
