Chapter 11 - Chapter Eleven

Emmiel

Even though Lopen asked me, I was fully aware that I didn't have a choice in the matter and so was he. "I'll marry you"

"Good" Lopen says, curtly. "I'll organize the whole wedding"

"I want to be involved in it too" I say. "Please, can I?

"Whatever. Just go to bed now. We'll talk about this more in the morning"

Nodding my head, I quietly asked. "Do you think you'd be able to sleep much better now?"

"Yes, I will"

"That's a relief"

My plans to leave the Lopen's mansion hadn't changed one bit. Like alpha Lopen had said, I had nothing to loose but everything to gain as his wife.

I will use this marriage of ours to secure power and connection. I was certain Lopen had alot of enemies.

It wouldn't take forever to snag a deal with them once the time was right for me to leave.

Until then, I had to win Lopen's trust and ensure he doesn't doubt me even for a little bit.

With that thought in mind, I drifted off to sleep. The next day, I woke up on the bed with alpha Lopen fast asleep beside me.

It was something new to me—waking up on the saw bed with alpha Lopen—

When Lopen was asleep, he looked a lot less scary.

"If you're done ogling over my features, you can stop now" Alpha Lopen commands slowly opening his eyes.

I springed up from the bed, embarrassed at the thought of being caught. "I apologize if you're offended. You just happened to be in my line of vision"

Lopen chuckled, sitting upright. "I guess I should be grateful for being in your line of vision"

Climbing down from the bed, he announces. "I'll shower first. When you're done, dress up and meet me downstairs in 30 minutes"

I blinked. "Am I going somewhere?"

"You asked to be a part of our wedding organisation last night, didn't you mean it?"

"I did"

I was just taken aback by the fact that for the first time since I got to this mansion, I would be stepping out of it.

"I thought you'd be more thrilled to hear that you'd be stepping out of the mansion but you look rather emotionless" Lopen says "I guess you really didn't want to—"

"Thank you, Alpha Lopen" I say. "I was overwhelmed with so much emotions that I didn't know how to react at first"

"It's understandable"

Springing up from the bed, I moved towards the exit of Lopen's room when he called out to me. "Halt, Emmiel. Where do you think you're going?"

"To my room to shower and get ready on time" I respond. "You said I should join you downstairs in the next thirty minutes so I don't want to keep you waiting, Alpha"

Lopen tsked with disappointment. "Emmiel, do the maths. If you want to save time —and not keep me waiting— the fastest means to do that is to get into the shower with me"

Get into the shower with him?. How long did I have to keep doing this with someone I loathe?

"What do you say, Emmiel?"

Clenching my fist, I respond. "You're right, Alpha. It would save more time"

A wide grin splays across Lopen's face. "You know I'm always right"

Walking towards Lopen, he leads us both into the bathroom and turned on the shower when we both stood underneath it.

"Today, I'll be exposing you to the world, Emmiel" Lopen says. "As I'd told you last night, I have alot of enemies"

"I wanted to keep you locked up in this mansion forever where your protection would be assured even if I'm far away" He continued "But, our wedding is bound to be the talk of the town which would make you a primary target for my enemies"

"So our going out today is to sharpen your senses" Lopen concludes. "Let you know how to sense those that you should be aware of and if you're that lacking, I'll get you a gamma guard"

It only made sense Alpha Lopen put in this much effort to protect me after spending alot of money to own me from the omega facility but even his actions wouldn't make me feel remorseful about leaving him because alpha Lopen had passed the point of redemption.

I nod to his words. After showering, Lopen called Kent to prepare his car and when it was all set for use, he drove us off to a male boutique store.

The store was rather empty that for a moment, I'd thought Lopen had come to the wrong place until a voice called out to him.

"Alpha Lopen" A young man with quirky glasses greets, stepping out from the backdoor. "To what do I owe this pleasant surprise?"

Lopen glances around the store. "Your store is quite empty today"

"Oh, it's been like this since you intervened"

"It's not my fault you got a client's bad side and he ordered me to take you out" Lopen shrugs. "I had to do a good job"

I froze. Did Lopen really bring us to one of his victim's store?

"Besides.." Lopen continues. "I thought your store would be empty as well that's why I came"

Pushing me towards the man, Lopen says. "This is my wife. Take his measurements and come up with a mind-blowing suit"

The man blinked. "You're getting married?"

"From the look of things"

"And you are entrusting such a big deal to me after ruining my store? What makes you think i won't use this opportunity as payback?"

The man was serious with his threat but Lopen appeared unfazed.

He laughs. "Go ahead and do your worst, Hawthorn. You know I'm more than capable of runining all that you have left of this place and your life inclusive"

"You should be reminded that you're still alive because of me" Lopen buttressed. "So we can do this the easy way or we can go the fun way?"
