Chapter 5 - Practice

Lu Yin's gaze was sharp. Due to the injuries he sustained from using the Wave Palm, he had not fully recovered and couldn't break free from the freezing ice layer. As the ice spread further, Lu Yin had no choice but to use his legs to generate force, pulling the woman with him while simultaneously using his Body Flicker Technique.

The woman's vision wavered, and the surroundings around her began to change. Caught off guard, she was knocked unconscious. Instinctively, she felt nauseous. Lu Yin quickly tore off the woman's sleeve, and several pieces of extremely cold leaves fell to the ground, rapidly freezing.

"I knew you couldn't be using supernatural combat techniques; you're relying on external items," Lu Yin mocked.

The woman gritted her teeth and glared at Lu Yin. "What did you just do? Some kind of combat technique?"

Lu Yin didn't respond. He was contemplating whether he should silence her.

At that moment, a gust of wind swept across the horizon as the Punisher, Zhou Shan, flew over.

Lu Yin felt helpless. Even if he wanted to silence her, it was already too late.

When the woman saw Zhou Shan, her expression changed.

Lu Yin was puzzled. Could this woman not be from the Execution Camp? As a Tier 2 expert, Zhou Shan shouldn't have spared her.

With a swoosh, Zhou Shan landed, and the air around him stirred. His imposing gaze swept over Lu Yin and the woman, eventually landing on the white spaceship with a look of confusion in his eyes.

"Can someone explain this to me?" Zhou Shan's voice was deep and commanding. Lu Yin thought for a moment, then calmly said, "A spaceship landed, and someone inside tried to kill me. However, perhaps because they suffered a heavy blow, they were no match for me and were killed by me."

Zhou Shan's gaze locked onto Lu Yin, then shifted to the woman. He didn't rush to inspect the spaceship but instead showed a slight smile. "It's been a long time. Did those three Snow Maidens only send you?"

The woman bowed and said, "Snow Maiden Zhao Yu, greetings, Execution Saint."

Lu Yin stared at the woman in surprise. Snow Maiden? He had heard of them—powerful beings under the command of the Holy Blue Camp from Changbai Mountain in the North. What was a Snow Maiden doing here in Jinling?

"Since the disaster happened, we haven't met. I never expected that when we meet again, everything would be so different," Zhou Shan sighed.

Zhao Yu respectfully replied, "Lord Luosheng asked me to congratulate you. The Execution Camp has already taken control of Su Province. Congratulations, Execution Saint."

Zhou Shan smiled bitterly. "What's there to congratulate? Anyway, I am no match for Lord Luosheng. I know how powerful the Three Saints are. Don't talk about others—compared to my own commander, you are stronger than them all."

Zhao Yu smiled, "Execution Saint, you're too modest. Just now, I was defeated by one of your commanders. He's really strong."

Zhou Shan was taken aback and pointed at Lu Yin, "Him? I don't know him."

Zhao Yu was stunned, "Isn't he your commander?"

Zhou Shan understood and stared at Lu Yin in shock. This person actually defeated a Snow Maiden.

Lu Yin lowered his head, his expression thoughtful. From Zhou Shan's tone, it seemed they knew each other before the end of the world, but had not met since. This meant that the so-called "Three Saints" must have been formidable before the apocalypse. In fact, the Seven Saints had been cultivating before the end of the world. He had heard rumors that the exploration of Neptune was not fruitless, and in fact, they obtained a battle sword and a body. It was said that this event nearly triggered a world war, but in the end, China compromised, giving other countries something to settle it.

So, the reason the Seven Saints could cultivate was likely due to what was in that body.

Lu Yin clenched his fist. He hadn't guessed wrong; his long-term pursuit in this direction seemed to be on the right track.

The Seven Saints couldn't possibly know the Body Sculpting Technique. Therefore, if that body belonged to a transcendent powerhouse, there might still be residual Body Sculpting Techniques that could be used—this was his real goal.

Soon, the Execution Camp's forces arrived, led by a beautiful woman wearing glasses.

Zhou Shan ordered the army to seal off the area, watching as several researchers in white lab coats explored the spaceship. Then he turned to Lu Yin and asked, "Young man, do you know anything about this alien?"

Snow Maiden Zhao Yu also looked at Lu Yin.

Lu Yin thought for a moment and answered, "I accidentally overheard him mention a few things—about the academy assessment, the primitive planet evolution trial, and the mission."

Zhou Shan's eyes flickered. "Is that all?"

Lu Yin nodded. "He didn't tell me much else. He just wanted me to become his slave and called us 'savages.'"

"Savages?" Zhou Shan sneered and looked up at the starry sky. "It seems Earth will soon be thrown into turmoil. Just now, dozens of spaceships landed, which means dozens of aliens. I didn't expect that the day we encountered aliens would come so quickly."

Lu Yin looked at Zhou Shan, who didn't seem surprised.

"Report to the Sinful Saint, the spaceship will be transported back to Jinling for analysis. This alien died of a broken heart. According to scans, he should have had weapons, but we found nothing after searching the area," the woman with glasses reported to Zhou Shan.

When Lu Yin searched Asta's body, he had already destroyed the battlefield, so they couldn't even recover the scene of the battle.

Zhou Shan turned to Lu Yin. "Young man, the items on this alien could help with our research. Are you willing to hand them over? Don't worry, once the research is finished, they will be returned to you."

Lu Yin pondered for a moment, then drew a short knife. "This is his weapon. I didn't take anything else," he said, deliberately tearing open his shirt to allow Zhou Shan and the others to see.

All of his things were stored in his Condensed Space Ring, and Zhou Shan and the others wouldn't recognize it. They couldn't even imagine a ring with storage space, so they wouldn't pay it any attention.

Zhou Shan took the short knife, casually swung it, and with a single slash, cleaved the ground. "It's so sharp. This material definitely isn't from Earth."

After speaking, Zhou Shan threw the short knife to the woman with glasses and gave Lu Yin a sharp look. Seeing that Lu Yin was indeed unarmed, he patted his shoulder and praised, "Not only did you kill an alien, but you also defeated the Snow Maiden. Little brother, you're really impressive. What's your name? Would you be interested in joining the Execution Camp and becoming a captain?"

Lu Yin didn't hesitate and immediately agreed. He had no choice but to comply. Zhou Shan appeared calm, but his suspicion of him hadn't disappeared. It wasn't just him—everyone would be wondering if Lu Yin was hiding something about the aliens. In this situation, they couldn't let him off the hook, so it was better to agree directly and avoid any conflict.

The second-tier expert had already surpassed Lu Yin's current ability to handle. If Asta hadn't been careless, he wouldn't have been killed. Lu Yin was certain that the same method wouldn't work on Zhou Shan, especially with so many evolvers around. Just Zhao Yu alone was quite formidable.

On the other side, Zhao Yu furrowed her brows and said to Zhou Shan, "I can't reach Lord Luosheng. The moment the alien spaceship arrived, all communication lines were cut off."

Zhou Shan nodded solemnly and said, "The arrival of the alien spaceship destroyed all the communication lines. I will send people to fix them as soon as possible. Don't worry, even if aliens from the Northeast Blue Camp appear, it won't be a problem. Lord Luosheng is very strong."

Zhao Yu silently nodded.

Research on the alien spaceship wasn't something that could be completed quickly. Fortunately, the spaceship wasn't large, and the military successfully transported it back to Jinling in secret.

As for Lu Yin, he was authorized to stay in Zhongshan and became the 14th captain of the Execution Camp.

The Execution Camp's army had 80,000 soldiers, but his captain title was merely a position; he didn't actually command any troops. Lu Yin didn't mind. What he wanted most now was to refine his body and become a true cultivator.

At the peak of Zhongshan, Zhou Shan looked toward the south. Behind him, the woman with glasses arrived.

"Saint of Sin, we've thoroughly checked the area around the pit, and there's nothing hidden. The man wasn't lying," she reported.

Zhou Shan sighed, "I understand. You may leave now."

"There are some things that need to be reported. We found traces of a concealed battle around the pit. This Lu Yin might not be as simple as he appears. His strength might be very powerful," the woman with glasses said seriously.

Zhou Shan smiled, "I know. His right hand and leg are both injured. Even so, he was still able to defeat the Snow Maiden. His true strength might be top-tier for a second-tier expert, otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to kill the alien. Also, it seems he hasn't absorbed any energy crystals. This person is quite interesting."

"Should we monitor him comprehensively?"

Zhou Shan shook his head, "No need. At this time, humanity should strive to unite. Besides, even if he's hiding his strength, so what? A second-tier expert alone can't cause much trouble."

"Yes."

In the Zhongshan Execution Camp's camp, inside the tent of Wan Bing's troops, Lu Yin sat cross-legged on the bed, slowly regulating his breath. Ten minutes later, he opened his eyes, his gaze sharp and clear. He took the body-refining formula from his Ning Kong ring, a glimmer of anticipation shining in his eyes. He bit his index finger, and blood began to flow. Lu Yin pressed the body-refining formula onto his injured finger. Slowly, the formula began to merge into his fingertip, and soon disappeared.

Lu Yin waited anxiously. After a moment, intense pain spread from his fingertip, quickly radiating throughout his entire body.

Lu Yin endured the pain, his gaze sharpening as he clenched his teeth tightly.

The pain surged like a tidal wave, as if it were going to tear his body apart. Every cell in his body was being reorganized and refined. His skin and blood vessels twisted, and Lu Yin felt as though his entire body was being scorched by fire, crushed by an invisible giant hand. This was the power of an unparalleled expert. All body-refining formulas came from such masters, and in this moment, Lu Yin truly felt the greatness of this power.

Blow!

Lu Yin spat out a mouthful of blood. His gaze, now fixed on the void, became even brighter. Countless impurities were purified from his body, then burned away by energy, causing the air around him to distort.
