**Chapter 12 - that was not the strongest?**
As Mathis woke up and the dust cleared, the skies had became a darker shade of red, the clouds were slowly appearing again, It rained blood red water.
"It's dead? How long have I been out for?" Mathis asked Theeven, Mathis still looked dazed and confused.
"That man you summoned or teleported whatever that was.. he defeated the dragon within a time span of 30 minutes." Theeven said while trying to regain his indifferent façade, but it was easy to tell he was still shaken up.
Mathis gets up and finds a katana next to him, it had no hand guard and was of very high quality.
It would seem that the unknown man left the katana behind for Mathis.
Mathis picks it up and looks up at the blood-red sky and dark clouds as it rained blood red water.
"Just what is going on.." Mathis asks himself quietly.
Mathis looks around at the destroyed and crumbling ruins of the once lively and beautiful city.
"Ah yes.. I completely forgot it.." Mathis says, still looking abit dazed and confused.
He opens his status window and claims the reward he had gotten.
**Mathis has acquired 'skill: Copycat lvl. 1(can only copy a skill for 1 minute.)'!**
"Wow this will come in very handy in the future.. I wonder what that man is upto now though.." Mathis thought to himself.
"What skill did you get Theeven?" Mathis asks curiously.
"Uh.. i got 'skill: Buffing dice.' If my dice rolls a 6 I get a temporary 8X stat boost." Theeven answers Mathis while still trying to look indifferent and calm.
"Wow that's actually incredible.. guess it wasnt lying when it said it would give an S+ grade skill.." Mathis said while being absolutely amazed by the skill Theeven got.
"Also.. according to that man, the dragon was ranked 70000th.. so it wasn't even close to the strongest thing we will have to fight in the future." Theeven explains to Mathis.
"I see.. thanks for telling me." Mathis responds, his expression a bit more worried and fearful yet determined.
"I must know how he is getting stronger so fast.. that man is so mysterious.." Mathis thinks to himself, curiously.
Mathis opens his status window and clicks on all the buttons, one by one he tested out every feature that wasn't locked.
"Hmm.. endless wave? Let's test this out." Mathis thought to himself before clicking the button, there was again in that endlessly large white space.
The status window appeared again -
[Hardest difficulty selected automatically.]
[You will be fighting a simulation of '------------', you can leave at anytime.]
[Quest: defeat '----------'
Requirement: kill '-----------'
Time limit: None
Penalty: death.
Reward: 20 levels, 1 random skill (SS+ grade)]
"If it yields such high rewards, it must be incredibly strong.. why is it's name filtered..?" Mathis asks himself curiously as fear fills him.
He hears footsteps behind him, but before he even had time to react there was the sounds of bones crunching and a sharp pain running through him.
[You have died.]
*skill: 8 lives has been activated and has now been converted to 7 lives.**
**injuries have been healed**
Mathis opens his eyes to find himself lying in a pool of his own blood which stains the endlessly white space.
Mathis gets up shakily, his head pounding as if he had been struck in the head with a metal bat.
"My head-! It hurts so much!" Mathis yelled out.
But before he could do anything else he hears these same footsteps, the sounds were all around him but this time he managed to react in time, just barely dodging a punch that would have killed him.
The fist he had dodged looked human, by the time he turned around to look at the enemy it was already gone as the footsteps rang out again.
Mathis clicks the leave button, but it distorts and disappears, forcing him to fight whatever that thing was.
Another brutally sharp pain goes through his body as he sees his own bones and flesh get punched out of him.
