Kael and Kaito stood side by side, their bodies battered, bruised, and soaked in sweat. The God Beast towered before them, its grotesque form pulsating with energy as the green markings across its skin flared brighter than ever. The air was thick with tension, every breath a struggle under the weight of the creature's oppressive aura.
"You still with me?" Kael muttered, keeping his eyes on the beast.
"Barely," Kaito replied, wiping blood from his lip. "But I've still got enough juice left to make it hurt."
The ground shook violently as the beast let out a guttural roar, shaking the nearby trees and splitting the earth beneath its feet. Its body had grown even larger, the serpent-like limbs slithering behind it in eerie synchronization. Every moment they gave it was another moment it used to evolve.
"We need to end this now," Kael growled. His eyes burned with intensity, the Voidstep energy already crackling around his boots.
Without waiting, Kael vanished in a burst of speed, reappearing behind the beast. He slashed his Void Blade toward its back, only for the creature to twist, intercepting his strike with a hardened claw. Sparks flew as metal met unnatural flesh, the force of the impact throwing Kael backwards.
Kaito was already in motion. "Got your back!" he yelled, jumping into the fray with a flurry of fists. His Overdrive flared to life again, each strike glowing with raw force. He landed two solid blows on the creature's ribs before ducking under a vicious counterstrike.
Kael rejoined him, the two fighting in perfect sync. Their movements were sharp, coordinated—almost instinctive. The beast snarled in frustration, clearly starting to falter under their relentless assault.
Suddenly, Kael landed a powerful slash across the creature's chest while Kaito drove an explosive punch into its midsection. The combination finally caused the beast to reel, stumbling backward with a deep, animalistic growl.
"It's weakening!" Kaito shouted. "We can finish this!"
But even as they closed in, the beast's body began to hum with unstable energy. The green markings shifted to a sickening black for a moment before pulsing outward in a sudden shockwave that forced both fighters to brace themselves.
Kael's eyes widened. "It's about to do something… big."
Before he could say another word, the beast's core began to glow.
