The air was thick with the stench of blood and smoke. The God Beast's massive, grotesque form stirred, still twitching from the battle. But as the dust settled and the cries of grief from Maiya echoed in the distance, Renzo and Jinsei stood tall, their expressions grim.
The weight of what had just happened still hung in the air. Kael—their master—was gone.
But the God Beast was not.
It was wounded, its monstrous body twitching with unnatural energy as it began to push itself up, its black eyes burning with malevolent fury.
Renzo and Jinsei exchanged a look—a silent understanding passing between them. The time for grieving could wait. They still had a world to protect, and the creature that had taken everything from them still lived.
Renzo stepped forward, his face set in a hard line, his fingers crackling with raw energy. "You took our master," he said, his voice cold, yet filled with the weight of his grief. "Now... it's time for you to die."
The God Beast's twisted, snake-like form coiled in the air, its voice a rumble of mocking amusement. "You two... think you have the guts to kill a god? To kill me?"
It laughed, an inhuman, raspy sound that sent chills down their spines. But neither Renzo nor Jinsei flinched.
Renzo's energy blade flared to life. He drew it back, its edge gleaming with raw, concentrated power. Beside him, Jinsei's own blade crackled with destructive potential, shining like a comet about to fall from the heavens.
Without another word, the two of them moved.
In a blur of speed, Renzo was at the Beast's head, his blade slicing downward with precise, controlled force. His strike landed directly on the Beast's skull, cutting through the hardened exterior like a hot knife through butter. The God Beast screamed, its head splitting open with a sickening crack.
But it wasn't enough to end it.
Before it could retaliate, Jinsei was there. He had moved in an instant, appearing at the creature's side, his energy blade glowing even brighter. With all his strength, he drove the blade into the Beast's stomach, twisting it deep, deeper still, until the beast's thick skin and muscles began to tear apart.
The God Beast howled in pain, its body thrashing violently, trying to break free, but its movements became slower and weaker. The wound was fatal.
"This is for Kael!" Renzo shouted, his voice cold with determination.
And with one final push, they drove their blades deeper. The Beast's body convulsed, a blinding flash of energy erupting from within it. The once invincible god beast, now defeated, collapsed to the ground with a final, guttural roar.
It died.
Its enormous body trembled once, then fell silent.
Renzo and Jinsei stood there, panting, staring at the fallen creature. The ground around them was scorched and cracked. The destruction was overwhelming—but the battle was over.
For a moment, there was only silence. No words, no cries. Just the weight of what had just transpired, settling over them.
And then Renzo, eyes narrowed and filled with resolve, looked to Jinsei.
"It's over… but the world's not safe yet. We've only just begun."
Jinsei nodded solemnly, wiping the sweat from his brow, his energy blade slowly dissipating. "We still have a long road ahead."
But Renzo's words were firm.
"And we'll walk it together."
The two of them, side by side, turned away from the fallen God Beast. The battle was over. The war, however, had only just begun.
