Chapter 12 - 12. Breakthrough

Teddy and his two cultivation companions spent the next few days researching where the Skyfield Cemetery was located.

Each night he would duel cultivate with his two lady companions. Of course not at the same time though.

Finally they had discovered the location of the cemetery. So they set out to the north. It was on top of one of the tallest mountains north of the city.

When they arrived at the cemetery it was night time. The cemetery at one time had an iron gate but now the gate was broken.

So the three squeeze through the gate and enter the cemetery.

Walking through the crmetery an ominous feeling crept in. It was as if they were being watched. Teddy, Mirella, and Seraphine could all feel their hair stand on end.

The whole time they were walking Teddy could feel the pendant pull him in a specific direction.

Finally, deep in the ancient cemetery they came across an empty area surrounded by a tall fence. On the fence a sign said, "Ancient Native American Barrel Ground. Keep out or face imprisonment"

The pendant wasn't pulling him into this region. But rather to the left of it.

Teddy followed the fence. He rounded the corner and continued walking until he came to a moss covered stone.

A white light shown on the pendant. Then the next thing Teddy knew, the spiritual energy in the pendant flew out towards the moss covered stone.

As soon as this energy came in contact with the stone, it was as if all the Moss was blasted away. And carved into the stone was ancient letters. No one has seen these letters in over a millennium.

The letters lit up and a spirit formed over the stone.

"Thank you for reuniting me with the other half of my spirit. I may now rest in peace and rejoin the cycle of reincarnation. You may keep that pendant. It may prove useful to you one day. I also have one more gift for you."

The spirit pointed to the stone with the ancient letters carved into it.

"That stone marks the final resting place of my body. Within that stone there is a large concentration of spiritual energy. I will help it merge into your body. Then I will go and rest."

Before anyone could say anything, a multicolor light shout out from the stone and hit Teddy and the chest. Teddy could feel a rush of spiritual energy enter his body.

He was about to break through to the middle level of the ascended stage of cultivation.

As soon as the light was finished, the spirit said, "Farewell friend. Till we meet again."

Then the spirit faded away.

Teddy immediately sat down and began to cultivate this new spiritual energy he now has. He must take advantage of this opportunity.

Teddy cultivated throughout the night and into the next day. Mirella and Seraphine never left his side. Though the two did end up falling asleep.

The amazing thing was as Teddy cultivated this new spiritual energy, new knowledge flowed through his mind. Skills he never learned before now seem to come naturally to him.

However, no one knew this was going on. But the longer he cultivated, he was sure he'd keep learning more and might even break through to the next level.

That's why he kept going non-stop. Also he, Mirella, and Seraphine all had brought food with them. So he didn't worry if either of the ladies got hungry.

Finally, at dusk the next day, a bright light started to shine. Teddy was about to break through again.

The temperature dropped drastically and storm clouds formed overhead. Lightning started to flash and thunder clashed.

Then a powerful whirlwind started the swirl around Teddy and his spiritual energy started to serge.

As the whirlwind twisted around Teddy, next arcs of red and white electricity started to twist with the whirlwind.

This sight was awe inspiring. But it wasn't over yet.

Ice shards started to form in the whirlwind. Twisting around Teddy's body with the arcs of electric energy and the whirlwind, the ice shards just added to the dangers immediately around Teddy.

Mirella and Seraphine couldn't look away. They never saw such raw power on display before.

Shadows started to rise from each of the graves and moved towards Teddy. However the mix of whirlwind, ice shards, and electric arcs twisting round Teddy formed a barrier that these shadows couldn't cross.

Suddenly an explosive sound rang out. The whirlwind and all the ice shards and electric arcs quickly flew out in all directions.

No sonic boom this time but the explosion was still powerful.

It's a good thing that Mirella and Seraphine both took cover or they'd be in serious trouble.

When the two women stepped out from their protective coverage, they saw Teddy floating in the air. spiritual energy circling around him.

Teddy has reached the middle level of the ascended stage. And this power was unbelievable. Even the shadows that tried to get to him have retreated back to their graves.

Suddenly, Teddy seemed to noticed something or someone. He rushed over and grabbed them by the neck. It was a Imp.

Teddy angerly said to the Imp, "Haven't you learned your lesson?"

The Imp was no fool. He knew he was no match for Teddy. However it was sent on a mission.

"I was sent here to give you a message."

Teddy looked at him, anger burning in his eyes.

"Speak!"

The Imp shuttered in fear.

It said, "My master has told me to inform you to stay away from anything that could be even considered his domain. If you will do this, he will stay away anything that the mortal realm claims."

Teddy couldn't believe his ears. This Imp made it's master sound more powerful than he was. Did it not understand how powerful Teddy truly is?

Teddy snorted in discuss.

He said, "Imp, let me make this clear. I'll go where I want to go and do anything I see right to do. As long as you're master stays out of my way, there'll be no trouble."

The look the Imp gave Teddy was that of a dead man walking.

It replied saying, "I'll relay this message however, I'm not sure my master will take this well. She has been known to have a temper."

Teddy just chuckled and threw the Imp to the side.

Teddy said to the Imp, "I'd run if I were you."

The Imp replied, "Why? You already made it clear you wanted me to deliver a message. I can't do that dead so you won't hurt me."

A smile that wasn't a smile formed on Teddy's face.

He said, "Who said anything about me killing you?"

Suddenly a small red fireball came flying at the Imp. It dodged to the right and the fireball barely missed. However the Imp was weak and the blast, though small, did throw it back a couple of feet.

The Imp's eyes grew wide in disbelief.

"Meteor fire!"

It turned to see where it came from. When it saw Mirella standing there with another small fireball floating in her hand, it shivered in fear.

It remembered that when it had possessed that human man, it had betrayed Mirella. Now the Imp understood why Teddy told it to run.

Not good, this is not good. If the Imp doesn't get help, it could very well die here. And the Imp was certain that Teddy wouldn't let any harm come to his women. Definitely not good.

Just as another fireball started to fly at the Imp, a black ball of dark energy flew at the fireball. A massive explosion resounded and both the fire ball and dark energy ball dissipated.

A frown formed on Mirella's face as she saw this. She sure as the world though that attack would cripple the Imp. Seraphine also frowned for the same reason.

Teddy on the other hand had a strange look on his face. It was almost like he expected this to happen.

What no one knew was the scroll of the Devine Heavenly Cultivation Arts was now a part of Teddy. Which means he knows everything that was on the scroll.

The scroll was never small. In face it was one of the largest ever. Why? Because of the information that was contained in it.

The Devine Heavenly Cultivation Arts is the highest level of cultivation technique of all others that lean on the light side.

So Teddy naturally knew that Imp's were the weakest of the deamon race.

Now the deamon race is known to modern religious groups as demons. The deamon race had a hierarchy of sorts. This hierarchy was more of a list from weakest to strongest demons.

Imp's always had a master but between their master and themselves was a handler of sorts.

The Imp handler was called a Fury deamon. The Fury deamon draws on the darkness for its power.

Imp's almost never grows strong enough to evolve into a Fury deamon. However a Fury deamon, as long as they are not killed, will always evolve eventually.

The Imp began to let out a creepy laugh. He started to dance and bounce around.

"Your all gonna die. Your all finished."

The Imp kept repeating these two lines. The scene was really ridiculous.

As the three stared at the Fury. They couldn't help but grimace at how ugly it was.
