Teddy chuckle as he stared at the man on the branch.
"You are a man of talent, I must admit. However now that I know that you can use an escape technique, you're not going to be able to do that again."
The cloaked man was shocked again. If Teddy knew about escape techniques, even if he didn't know how to do one, he should be able to counter it.
The man had missed his opportunity to end the fight quickly. Before the man could react his eyes grew wide. Instantly a smoky shadow covered him up and a ball of lightning flew through the shadow.
However as soon as this happened Teddy was already looking for the man. So before the man could react he felt a lightning infused fist hit his face.
The man flew backwards into a tree. He wiped his mouth with his hand and saw a little bit of blood on it.
"I have to admit this is exhilarating. Out of all of my opponents, you're the only one that can keep up. I don't think I will kill you today. I think I will capture you and hand you over to my master. You will be a powerful addition to our ranks."
Teddy just smirked. He had already guessed this man's background. This man was part of an underworld sect.
The man vanished into a shadow and appeared at Teddy's back. However it seemed like Teddy expected this.
As soon as the man appeared, he was struck in the head with Teddy's staff. The man fell to the ground and spit up a mouthful of blood.
The man looked up at Teddy fear in his eyes.
"How, how did you do that?"
Teddy looked at the man. Hatred was in Teddy's eyes.
"I told you I was going to capture you and bring you to Mirella. Did you think I would make such a claim without the ability to do so? You're more stupid than you look."
Rage rose up in the man.
The man bellowed, "Why you! I take back what I said before! I'm going to kill you!"
Teddy burst out in laughter.
"Kill me? I have already landed two hits on you out of three attacks. You haven't even been able to touch me. How are you going to kill me?"
And with that Teddy hit the man again with his staff. This should have knocked a man out cold. But Teddy did not expect what was going to happen next.
A shadow rose up out of the man. It was a small shadow no more than about three feet tall. In the shadow began to form into a figure.
The figure looked hideous. Teddy snarled at what he saw.
"Shadow Imp. Why am I not surprised."
The Shadow Imp snarled at Teddy and then formed a small black gate on the ground. He jumped through the gate and disappeared.
The cloak man was out cold. So Teddy picked him up and carried him back to the house.
An hour later the man woke up. He found himself tied to a chair. In front of him stood two women and a man.
These individuals of course were Teddy, Mirella, and Seraphine.
The man became pale. Last night's fight with Teddy fresh on his mind. And what is worse, he can no longer feel the power he once had.
"You! What did you do with my power!"
Teddy's sneered that the man before saying, "Oh you mean that Shadow Imp? Yeah it abandoned you and ran away. Obviously it thought that you weren't worth it."
The man's eyes turned red. Anger burning in them. The man wanted to rip Teddy's heart out.
But then the man felt a slap across his face.
When he turned his head to look, it was Mirella who slapped him.
"Bastard. You made a pact and then broke it. How could you do such a thing?"
Laughing the man responded, "So naive. My sect takes the virgin yin energy of young women and sacrifice it to our sects master. In doing so we get rewarded and she gets stronger."
Disbelief crept on Mirella's face.
"Do you mean..."
Before she could finish her statement, the man laughed evily.
"I see you are beginning to understand. Good, good. I was going to do the same to your sister. However she no longer possesses virgin yin. Her yin energy is now one of a duel cultivators. It's not as pure and such is meaningless to my master."
Teddy, Mirella, and Seraphine all had hateful looks on their face. How could such evil exist in the world?
Saying the look on their face the man laughed.
He said, "You know what, since I took your pure yin energy, I can still hand you over to my master. I mean after all I swore a blood pact to her. So what is mine is hers. She could maybe even use you to re-emerge in this world."
Teddy looked at the man with a mocking smile. This look made the man uneasy. What was he missing?
"Thank you for telling me your plan. However there's one thing you are missing. I have already bonded with Mirella so she is my cultivation partner. Also you are much weaker than you realize."
Teddy began to release his cultivation base. Sweat began to form on the man's forehead.
"Ascended stage. You have reached the ascended stage. That's sonic boom, that was you?"
Teddy just smiled at the man, mocking him.
Mirella on the other hand slapped him again across the face.
"Now that you have revealed your plans, I have no need to keep you alive."
And with those words Mirella plunged a knife into the man's heart. The man died on the spot.
Teddy looked at Mirella and said, "Though the man did deserve to die, did you have to kill him here? How are we going to cover this up?"
Mirella playfully smiled at Teddy. Then she pulled out a red crystal. It was a fire crystal.
"I have been trying to cultivate the power in this crystal for a while now. I have enough control to turn his body and blood into ash not leaving a trace. It's going to take time for me to fully cultivate the power in this crystal, but this should do."
And with a wave of her hand the man's body and his blood on the ground turned to ash. There wasn't a trace of his DNA left in the room.
Teddy nodded his head. He was quite impressed and satisfied.
Seraphine on the other hand said to her sister, "And when were you going to tell me about the fire crystal?"
Mirella grin playfully before saying, "Sissy, don't be mad. I know you're cultivating an earth crystal. You haven't told me about it so I figured I shouldn't tell you about my fire crystal."
Seraphine was shocked. She thought that she had hid the existence of the earth crystal from her sister. She didn't want Mirella to feel jealous and left out. All along her sister had an elemental crystal herself.
Seraphine sheepishly responded, "Okay. I guess you're right. I just didn't want you to be upset and felt left out. I was looking for an elemental crystal for you for this reason. But I guess this whole time you already had one."
Mirella laughed and said, "I'm not mad at you sister. It's okay. I figured you had your reasons."
The two sisters hug and then turned to Teddy.
Mirella said, "I watch your fight in the woods. Red and white electricity? Most elemental attacks have one color to them. Take the Fire of Hades. The fire has a dark purple color to it. But you're lightning has two colors. What's with that?"
Teddy smiled and said, "The cultivation technique that I learned in that mysterious realm pulls out our affinity to a specific element. And the stronger the affinity is, the more powerful the element is. From my understanding, this lightning is the Lightning of Jupiter."
The two women had a shocked expression on their faces. Lightning of Jupiter? They both knew what this meant.
Teddy's cultivation ability had to have been superb. The two women even wonder if anyone could match it. Teddy knew exactly what they were thinking.
He said, "I'm not going to hide anything from you. You see this talisman around my neck? It holds an ancient spirit. The last master of my cultivation technique. He is immensely old. The reason why I'm looking for the Skyfield Cemetery is him."
The two women had a look of understanding on their faces. They knew that Teddy must have had some kind of pact with this spirit. And they guess it was too return the spirit to its resting place.
What they didn't know was they were exactly correct. The spirit could not rest until it got united with its old self. The spirit was only a fraction of itself. The other fraction was waiting at his grave.
