Chapter 17 - CHAPTER SIXTEEN

"Boss," his men called out to him from a distance.

He didn't answer his companion. He seemed crazy, grinning at the situation.

"Let's go; let's go back for now." He said those words while putting on a dark hooded jacket. His staff was speechless.

So you're alive, Chesca. Giovane mused silently.

I am aware that Mikaela is also alive. You really hide, but I know you will eventually come out of your hideouts. He thought to himself back then.

I will list the people who helped both of you. Dad will be thrilled to see you soon.

"Boss, your father called."

He gestured for him to give him the phone.

"Hello," he immediately answered.

"How's the work I've assigned to you?" He asked on the other line.

He smirked. "Don't worry; you will be surprised and pleased with what I will discover today." He spoke with a wild smile, his eyes brimming with greed.

"What is it?" his father asked him.

"Your stepdaughter has confirmed her survival."

"I told you that woman, Ellese's twin, is still alive, didn't I?" He asked.

"I can't confirm, but when Chesca's alive, Mikaela too is alive."

"You know what you have to do."

"Yeah, I know." He said with a grin.

"Keep me updated; my whole body itches to kill those two." His father is saying it.

"I will keep you updated." He started to think.

"By the way, Dad."

"Yeah?" Said the person on the other line.

"You know Jake, right?" He asked on the other line.

"That bastard!" He shouted on the other line, his voice full of anger. He couldn't help but smile at his father's reaction.

"How about that bastard?" He asked this with a fiery temper.

"Whoa, just relax, Dad." He even said it out loud. "That Jake Diego Roman is a pain in the neck, that cousin of mine." He even mentioned it.

"Is he involved in what's happening now?" His father asked,

"He works in the shadows; you know the black market is slowly disappearing because of him." Giovane suggested a possible connection to Jake.

"We don't have proof that it's him, but there's a possibility he might be involved. He wants to play games with you, Dad." Giovane added.

"Stop that nonsense. Give me good news when you call, when you have in your hands the two women who will bring me down."

"Deal with that cousin of yours; he won't be the one to bring down my throne."

"You're petrified of those siblings." He just shook his head at the person on the other end of the line.

"Work quietly, that's all I'm asking of you." I'm busy right now.

"Bye." He immediately hung up the phone after talking to his father.

He started laughing out loud because he found what was about to happen amusing. His subordinates ignored him.

"What are your next steps now, boss?" This one asked.

Hmm? What am I going to do? Well, same as usual. He thought to himself and just smiled.

"First, find out the background of the woman named Jasmin; we need to silence her, and besides, it was a hassle for you to find her, wasn't it?" He asked back then.

I can use that woman; her death will expose Mikaela. Chesca didn't know me earlier. He thought to himself.

He will be going back to the city now.

Jake Diego Roman, what will your next move be? I'll play it until you finish. He thought to himself.

He looked at the trees along his path; he did not believe in and was afraid of those with abilities. In their world, only the strong will survive.

He loves chaos, he loves power, and he loves to play games.

That's why he becomes his father's henchman when his father is killing someone related to him. He doesn't feel pity when this person begs him not to take their life.

He has already shed a great deal of blood.

Maybe I really inherited my father's devilish nature. He said that back then.

He dialed a number, calling his right-hand man to work for him because he had something important to do; otherwise, he wanted to find out the truth.

"Old habits." He said to his companion.

"Okay." That's all he answered him.

He was quietly observing then; he was planning something again in his mind.

Should I kill the entire family of this woman? He thought to himself.

He does not pity the people he kills; he does not work for his father, but he does it voluntarily to ease the tension in his muscles that does not calm down when he has not killed anyone.

I'm a murderer; I don't know the words conscience and mercy. I hear their lamentations and cries as they take their last breath. I don't believe in karma and ghosts. If they want to get back at me, they will come close to play with me. He used to say to himself back then.

I will kill people to satisfy my addiction.

They will travel a long way; he also needs to make up for his work.

He is the mastermind behind the disappearances of women who turn up dead or with incomplete body parts.

Who will be my next victim? He smirked.
