The news that Ruth, Ericka, and even Thalia were missing left Jake scratching his head.
How did the three of them go missing at the same time? He could only ask himself. He couldn't sleep thinking about how to find Jasmin, and now he has an additional problem.
It is his responsibility to take care of his subordinates.
The situation is no longer good. He shook his head. The sun was already high, and his head was still aching because of the problem he was facing.
"Sir Jake." A colleague called out to him.
He just looked at her fellow teacher, Harold.
"The tracker device detected something earlier; it keeps suddenly appearing." He said in a whisper.
There, he jumped up from his chair; it didn't answer. He nodded, indicating that he should proceed to a tent.
"Jake, we detected a tracker." His colleagues greeted him with that news.
"Whose tracker is that?" That was all he asked.
"To Miss Blanco."
He immediately checked Thalia's current location.
"What was the report earlier?"
"The detection suddenly disappeared earlier. I estimate it disappeared suddenly because the tracker might no longer be able to reach their location." His colleague, who was analyzing the tracker device, was hopeful that they could still see the students.
"Now, where are they?" He asked, becoming alert in his demeanor. He wanted to rescue and follow Thalia's tracker.
"She keeps getting farther away. But they are still here now. We need to find Thalia; she is probably with the two of them, as well as Jasmin."
He nodded; he needed to find it, and the lives of the students under his care might be in danger.
They immediately launched an operation to search and rescue all the missing students so they could return home later this afternoon, continue the activities that had started with the remaining young people, and then bring back the missing students.
Jake is holding Thalia's tracker device; the others are assigned to different parts of the forest.
I hope they're okay. He thought to himself.
He sees on his phone that it seems to be flashing—it's flashing, and it changes direction.
His brow furrowed as he looked at his phone.
He needs to guess where Thalia is going.
Perhaps she has lost her way. That's all that crossed his mind.
He needs to act now; he needs to hurry to find Thalia. He also hopes that the others who are missing are with Thalia.
I hope so. He started walking and searching in the direction the tracker had indicated.
During his search for the children, he discovered a large, abandoned warehouse. This can be noticed in the condition and appearance of the warehouse, so he didn't pay it any more attention. He wandered through the dense forest back then.
In his haste, he saw a ribbon; he immediately picked it up. He wondered who owned it.
It came back to his mind that when Jasmin went missing, they couldn't track her device.
If she is here near the warehouse, they haven't gone too far yet. He thought to himself.
He is forming possible speculations on where he might find it.
If it asks for help, if it is lost, it might be traversing the concrete road back then.
He looked at Thalia's tracker; it was still blinking. His suspicion was indeed correct.
He alternated between running and walking. He knows the shortcuts here because he has been here before.
I hope it's not too late. He quickened his pace then, traversing the forest toward the paved road. He was already emerging from the heart of the forest and had caught sight of the paved road.
He got out, walked around, sharpened his hearing and his senses, and walked around. He was sure he had passed by here; he felt it strongly.
He heard a rustling sound, so he turned.
"Is it, Sir Jake?" He heard a voice coming from behind him.
He immediately turned around, but he couldn't see who was speaking. Suddenly, someone emerged from the grass.
"It's Sir Jake." One of them even said.
He immediately saw and beheld Thalia.
"Dionson, are you okay?" He asked when he saw the child he was looking for.
It had companions. His prayer was heard; the four missing young women are safe. He let out a sigh and felt as if a thorn had been removed from his throat.
He looked at his student's appearance; their hair was messy, as if they were running away from something.
Suddenly, Jasmin fainted back then. Jake immediately carried her.
"For goodness' sake, don't walk around here by yourselves. Come here." He called the students to follow him.
He heard footsteps moving.
"Oh?" He noticed a man.
He wasn't speaking then. But he knew the person he saw.
"Jake," the man said his name.
"What are you doing here, Giovane?" He asked seriously.
The students were surprised by his voice.
"Ah, you still haven't changed, Jake. I'm taking care of everything; I'm just hanging out here. No worries." Giovane just replied to his question.
Jake noticed that he was looking at his students.
"Are those students lost?" Thank God, they're safe. There have been numerous reports of missing women in this area. I heard that there are schools that also go camping here. I didn't expect that it was the one where you work, Jake." He said this while shifting his gaze between his students.
"Yeah, thanks for your concern. We're in a hurry. Good to see you, Giovane. I hope our destinies won't clash anymore." He said.
"You're so mean; you're cold as ever, man." Comment on his behavior. He didn't respond to it then; he just ignored it. He was already with the children he was looking for.
He just clenched his fists.
"Let's go, they are waiting for your return." He said to the children.
"What happened?" He noticed that Ruth seemed like she was about to cry.
She just shook her head, noticing that she was scared, and looked at her student. He didn't want his student to develop a phobia.
"How did you find us?" Thalia suddenly asked him.
They were on their way back to the tent then. All his fatigue vanished when he saw that it was safe.
He took something out of his pocket.
"Ribbon?" Ericka asked.
"We designed you to wear this ribbon as your tracker, enabling immediate tracking and traceability in the event of your loss."
"Huh?" Thalia said.
She took something out of her pocket. "Because of this?" Thalia asked him.
He just nodded in response to his student's answer back then.
"Good thing I didn't throw it away." Thalia couldn't help but sigh.
Jake had already spotted the tent then. Its activity continued. They didn't pass in front; they would rather not attract the attention of the students. He went straight to a tent.
The teachers who were there waiting for the rescue team were surprised.
The school nurse immediately treated the minor injuries sustained by the children. He also called the others to inform them that he had returned with the missing student.
He sat down then, pondering their reunion with Giovane.
What is he doing here? He wondered in his mind back then.
His mind was tired, his body was tired, and he just wanted to rest for a moment before they headed back to the city.
He took a nap then. He will be able to sleep soundly because the students will safely return to their respective homes soon.
