Chapter 43 - Chapter 43

(A/N: Sorry for the short chapter today. I'm not feeling too good at the moment.)

I am, in fact, not the storm that is approaching.

As I walked dejectedly into the Kendo Club, Mei immediately noticed my arrival. She excused herself from the others in the club as she went over to me.

"What happened to your hair Gojo?" Mei looked half concerned, half amused. "Did you fumble a chemistry experiment?"

"I… did not have the hairspray hands…"

"What? Like the sword guy?"

"You know that guy?" I showed an expression of surprise. However, it quickly disappeared. "Oh yeah. You're-"

"Stop talking!" Mei immediately shut my mouth with both her hands.

Hearing the whispers coming from the surroundings, the purple haired girl began to blush as she hurriedly removed her hands from my mouth.

"We should talk elsewhere…" she whispered out nervously.

"Sure. I was planning to ask you out anyways."

That caused an eyebrow raise.

"Are you shore you phrased that correctly?" Mei said with a giggle.

"Damn it, Mei! You've been hit by the brain rot just like Bronya."

"I learnt from the best." She gave a wink. "Just give me a moment. I need to inform the others."

I waved her off. As she left to talk to the others in the Kendo Club however, I, given my ADHD self, could not help but look around the place.

Not gonna lie, I was a bit of a weapon user myself.

Yet I chose to still use my fists most of the time. Most weapons couldn't stand the amount of force I could output.

Only Siegfrie- oops, I meant my new fancy guns could keep up with me in combat.

Just a shame that I never had a chance to pull out all the stops. The city is relatively fragile when you're comfortably above baseline superhuman.

The place was pretty normal. Not too much different from an average Japanese Kendo Club. The only thing I found interesting was that it was just a bit bigger.

It better be, considering that Chiba was a school for rich people.

Huh… how did Kiana get into the school in that case?

Maybe Siegfried pulled some strings?

But thinking of that, I couldn't help but be reminded of all the coincidences back when Kiana appeared.

Were those really coincidences?

I was brought out of my thoughts when Mei suddenly called out to me.

"Let's go, Gojo. I've rearranged my duties with the others."

"I thought Ms. Strong Winds wouldn't need to do any duties?" I teased.

Her eyes twitched. "Gojo… I will read as many physics books as I can…"

"Ahh~ I'm being threatened by the Queen of Thunder~"

"I'm going to peel off your scales one day…"

"That's what she said."

"What?"

—-------------------------------------------

"Gojo… why did you call all of us together?" Mei asked. "And why are we skipping class again?"

"Well, I decided that it would be better for all of us to get to know each other better." I said cheerfully as I pushed Kiana and Bronya in front of me. "Kiana and Bronya here have superpowers too!"

"Ah! Are you two jinchurikis?"

"What's a jinchuriki?" Kiana asked with a question mark on her head.

"You don't know about it?"

"Is it from a cartoon or something?"

"Yeah. Haven't you ever watched it before? It was on TV a lot."

As Kiana and Mei spoke, I stood beside Bronya who was standing there, unable to look at Mei.

"What's wrong? Feeling shy again?" I asked.

"The Bronya… does not know how to talk to sister Mei…" Bronya reluctantly muttered out.

I closed my eyes.

"If you feel guilty for her, then you should help her out as much as you can, shouldn't you?" I patted her on the shoulder. "She doesn't look like the type who's unwilling to help you."

I winked at her.

She immediately got my message as she took a deep breath. It took a few moments for her to remove the frown on her face and compose herself before nodding.

"But that'll have to wait a little for now." I said before I clapped my hands, attracting everyone's attention.

"So Mei. I kinda need to warn you-"

"Are my powers awakening mo-" Mei quickly controlled herself from her outburst. "What's wrong Gojo?"

She couldn't help fidgeting under our stares.

I wanted to tease her a bit more, but I really needed to get my point across.

"You're being targeted."

At this point, there was no reason to hide it from her.

Ryoma seemed to be very confident that he could cover the skies of Nagazora with his hand, so he wasn't afraid of letting Mei continue to go to school.

I wasn't so sure about that though, considering that Cocolia was sneaking Honkai devices and weapons into the city without his knowledge anyways.

Thus, who knew if that crazy woman would send someone to kidnap Mei off the streets.

Then, she could send Mei to another city and cause the Honkai Eruption there.

Knowing that, Mei needed to be ready more than ever.

None of us could keep an eye out for her at all times, nor could we deal with any scheme that Cocolia could come up with.

"W-what?" Mei stammered.

"Since you're a Herrscher, you should have expected that there would be people wanting to get a hold of your power right?"

"I.. see." She nodded. "So we're going to do some training again so that I don't get captured right?"

"Yup. Just make sure you don't blow up other people's houses this time."

"That was an accident!" The purple haired girl argued weakly.

"Wait wait wait!" Kiana cut in. "Do you mean that Mei was the one who totaled your house?"

"Yes…" Mei answered dejectedly for me.

"Ah… Gojo is the one stealing my snacks now because of Mei…"

"Sorry?" She apologised hesitantly.

"Guys. Let's not get off topic here." I sighed. "So Mei. Your training will be a bit different from what you think though…"

"Why?"

As I heard that, a smile appeared on my face.

"We're going to try to talk to the Herrscher."

(A/N: Guys. For our powerstone deal, I'll do it for another extra chapter. I don't think I can write much more without burning out at this rate since I didn't think that we would reach our goal this easily.

When we hit it, I'll try to post at the end of the week guys.)
