Once we reached a bench in an empty area, I patted the middle seat.
Mei gave a nod before she sat down wordlessly.
"Okay. We're about to begin."
I started, making my voice as silky and smooth as possible. It was akin to the type of voice that would cause tingles when heard.
"First of all, close your eyes."
She did.
"Take a long… deep… breath…" I whispered to her slowly.
Her chest raised up before coming back down slowly.
"Then, clear away all superfluous thoughts. Don't focus on anything else other than your breath…"
"Are you more relaxed now?"
Another nod in response.
"Good. Now-"
"Subject Gojo. Why are you reading an ASMR tutorial from your phone?"
I quickly covered Mei's ears.
"Bronya. I'm going to make Kiana your boss if you say anything else."
"The Bronya is deeply sorry."/"Hey!"
As I removed my hands, I apologised. "Sorry about that. Those two kids were being problematic-"
Whispers interrupted me again.
"Let's jump him when we train next time Bronya."
"Subject Kiana finally made a good suggestion after all this time."
"Ha? Are you itching for a beating too?"
Ok. Keep calm Gojo. Resist the urge. You're better than this.
Taking a deep breath, I quickly focused back on the topic as I read from my phone again.
"Do you hear anyone? Anything?" I said with gritted teeth.
Mei shook her head slightly in response.
"Be patient. Try a bit more. Perhaps you could try to look for something more… violent after you calmed your mind. Maybe even… a storm."
"Is this actually just an elaborate prank Gojo?" She suddenly spoke monotonely.
Uh oh…
I might have hit a nerve there.
But realistically, you can't blame me for that!
She's a Herrscher with a lightning theme! If I don't ask for that, what else could I ask for?
"You're overthinking it. Trust the process."
Mei gave me a suspicious look before closing her eyes again.
She tried her best for a while(as much as you could try while relaxing) but in the end, she let out a sigh in frustration.
"It's not working… I don't feel anything…"
I put a hand on my chin. "Can you even sense your energy?"
"No."
"Well… if that's the case, we might need to go for some more… drastic measures…"
"What do you mean by that?" Mei's voice became clipped, like she was dreading something.
A cheeky smile appeared on my face. "Maybe we can try the thing we did last tim-"
I wasn't even able to finish my words before a crackle of purple lightning appeared around our resident electromagnetic controller.
Hehe
She was too easy.
Kiana and Bronya seemed to be shocked by this sudden display of power behind me, letting out gasps. Still, I didn't get distracted from my goal.
Getting Mei to get some contact with the Herrscher.
"Why don't you try doing the meditation thing again? You'll probably feel something different this time."
"And a warning again. I've told you this before but please…" I paused to put more emphasis into it. "Don't open any seals, or make any bets, or any deals, or any-"
She let out an exasperated chuckle.
"I got it, Gojo. I know how the stories go."
"It's just a warning." I told her seriously. "Don't think that you're above being manipulated. Assuming that she's some sort of eldritch-esque personality, she might have a lot more experience than you."
Upon hearing that, Mei seemed to understand the gravity of the situation. She pondered about it for a split second before turning serious herself.
"I understand."
As Mei went back into her ASM- I mean meditation sequence. I waited calmly in front of her.
Kiana and Bronya were silent at the moment, unwilling to interrupt my focus.
They knew that if anything went wrong, I needed to act immediately.
Thus, any distractions that they could cause by noise would likely be fatal.
Mei remained silent for a while. Not making any noise.
If it weren't for her being seated upright at the moment, it would be hard to tell that she wasn't asleep.
And then suddenly…
Something about her changed.
There was something akin to a pulse in her before her eyes slowly opened.
And they were hot pink once more.
"You wanted to contact me, didn't you?" A corner of Mei's lips curled up. "Well here I am."
At that, Kiana and Bronya immediately sprung into action. However, I stopped them with a raised hand.
"We're not fighting right now guys. We're just going to talk."
"But isn't she supposed to be the destroyer of worlds or something?! Plus, she's taking over Mei's body!!"
"Subject Kiana…" Bronya spoke for me. "I… think we should trust Gojo."
The white haired girl looked between Mei, Bronya and I for a few moments, before clicking her tongue and standing by.
"Fine."
Mei seemed amused as she was content to watch all of this carry out.
"Your pets seem obedient. Perhaps mortals aren't so bad if they all could be tamed like this."
I sighed. "Hey hey… I'm not into that type of thing y'know? You're showing off your kinks again!"
Her eyes narrowed subtly. "I see your sharp tongue has not changed much."
"Wouldn't be me if it had."
"You are unconcerned about that coward."
Mei spoke as a matter of fact.
Coward?
What did she mean by that?
Was she referring to the real Mei?
But why would she call her that in that case?
I pushed it into the back of my mind as I kept a calm smile still on my face.
The one who shows weakness first will lack initiative in the following conversation.
"What do you mean by that?"
"You decided to poke and prod at me despite the risks to Mei herself."
Showing care for her other self?
Or was she trying to make me flinch with that question?
Regardless, she seemed very interested in this question. I might as well answer it.
"You seem to already be able to influence the outside world anyways. I don't think that Mei is any more danger in that case." I said with a shrug. "You're on a timer anyways."
"Ah. My actions that day." She nodded in understanding.
It wasn't obvious, but her body relaxed a bit.
That… was interesting.
A sudden lightning bolt struck my Infinity.
"Where are your eyes looking, Gojo Satoru?"
I pretended to be flustered. "I'm a teenage boy. You can't blame me for doing that~"
Hmm did I just feel Kiana and Bronya cringe slightly?
"I suppose you are right." Mei let out a sigh. "How could you resist my glamour and beauty?"
Her own?
"Do you remember what I said before?" The Herrscher suddenly spoke with a smile wider than the one I had before.
I blinked.
"What?"
"That I would peel off your scales."Her smile widened considerably before she disappeared.
She reappeared between Kiana and Bronya, towering over them with her impressive height.
The two of them instinctively formed their counterattacks.
Kiana with a high kick while Bronya with Project Bunny.
But Mei merely dodged their attacks with a simple lean back.
Then, she pointed a finger at both their heads, seemingly wanting to fire something at them. But before she could do so, she was pulled by something…
Right into my arms.
"Whoopsie there. It seems you can't escape my… attractive personality."
She blinked once in mild surprise, before letting out a soft chuckle.
"Relax. I was never going to fire." Her voice was almost playful. "I simply wanted to see all of your reactions."
"That's so kind of you." I laughed as well
In the meantime, Kiana wiped a sweat as she couldn't help but comment.
"The two of them are kinda sick in the head, don't you think?"
"Subject Kiana is the only one who has not realised how schizo Subject Gojo can be."
"Ha? He's not like this often with me though?"
"Maybe Subject Kiana is just an Idiotka."
"Ah… my time seems to be running out." Mei sighed out. "It's a shame. I had a bit of fun today."
"Since you're in such a good mood," I said casually, "mind tossing Mei a bit of power next time? Just a lightning bolt or two. Nothing crazy. She can pay you back in snacks."
"Snacks would make me fat. I prefer healthier alternatives." she said in an amused manner. "If she wants my power, then she can take it anytime."
"You're feeling generous aren't you?" I said before my expression turned into faux shock, "I didn't expect Ms Herrscher to care about her figure though…"
"Hmph." She didn't answer my question. "The next time we meet, do prepare some delicacies for me as well."
"You still owe me for my house…"
"That sounds like a 'You' problem.
A tick mark appeared on my head. "Huh? You want to fight?"
"Sure. If you enjoy beating up that coward instead." She closed her eyes. "Goodbye now. When I truly awaken, you'll be the first I put under my feet."
"..."
I guess she still hasn't changed in terms of kinkiness.
There was a small pulse once more in Mei's body before she opened her eyes.
They were back to normal.
The purple haired girl blinked a few times and looked around her before she looked at me.
"I know it's kinda inappropriate, but I think that I was pretty cool just now."
Damn it Mei.
