"But before that, I guess I have to do some 'Shantel' updates," he muttered to no one in particular.

He pulled out his phone and called his assistant.
"Get me a detailed report of everything Shantel Hale has been up to while I was away," he ordered before strolling back into the bar.
He was casually observing a poker game while absentmindedly twirling a glass of Champagne in his hands when his phone screen lit up.
"Quite efficient," he chuckled when he saw the file his assistant forwarded to him.
He clicked on the file and his grin widened as he read. But when he read to a particular point, his eyes narrowed inexplicably.
