Carl raised his glass. "So, you clearly aren't gonna take my advice?"
George's eyes were glinting now. "Not without a fight."
Carl barked a laugh. "You're going to try to outmatch Richard Domango? Good luck."
George gave a cold smile. "I don't need luck. I just need time."
And with that, he turned on his heel and stormed out of the club like a man on fire with only one target in his sights.
Unaware that George's affection had taken a whole new turn, Shantel headed over to Luxe Plaza. After completing her work for the day, she headed over to see her sister, Claudia.
The apartment was quiet with only the soft hum of low classical music filling the space when Claudia opened the door. She was wearing a navy cardigan and beige flats and her dark hair pulled into a low bun.
She blinked in surprise at the sight of Shantel on her doorstep.
"Shan?"
"I figured I'd better come today before I get too busy to check on my sister," Shantel said, smiling brightly as she stepped inside.
