Cassandra was Jerry's ex-girlfriend.

The kind that wasn't supposed to be forgotten.
On the other end of the line, Cassandra sat beneath a beach umbrella, the soft sound of ocean waves behind her, a cocktail resting in her hand.
Her eyes narrowed the moment she heard the voice.
"This one that you're calling me at this time..." Cassandra said slowly, raising her brows.
"Hope all is well. I thought we already settled everything between us. Why are you calling me again?"
Her tone was casual, but slightly guarded.
She didn't like surprises—especially not from Margaret.
Back in her room, Margaret's face tensed as she paced again, phone pressed to her ear.
"Well," she said sharply, "I think your little trip is about to be cut short."
Cassandra blinked, sitting up straight in her beach chair.
"Excuse me?" she said, genuinely surprised.
"You want me to end my vacation? Because of what?"
She stood now, slipping on her sandals, voice rising with irritation.
