Jerry looked ahead as they walked, his hands casually tucked into his pockets, his voice was low but steady as he finally answered her question.
"I actually know a friend," he began,
"someone who's been in debt to me for a long time now."
Hearing what Jerry just said, Abigail turned her head toward him slightly, listening quietly.
"He works there," Jerry continued. "At Global Investments.
A good man. Back then, during one of the hardest seasons of his life,
I did something for him something big, but i never asked for anything in return. I just helped him."
Jerry paused as if the memory crossed his mind again.
His tone softened even more.
"So, when I saw his company was also involved in the contract approval…and I noticed how polished everything looked,
I figured maybe this was the right moment."
He glanced briefly at Abigail, then looked forward again.
"That's when I put a call through to him," he said. "I told him I seriously needed his help."
