Zara played with her food, barely able to eat. It wasn't that she wasn't hungry, but her heart was heavy.
"Could this be the reason he's always saved my life? Because of the book?"
She sighed and dropped her spoon.
"Don't you like it?" Zavier asked, puzzled.
Zara didn't respond. She just reached for the glass of orange juice and took a slow sip.
"I just want to relax now. I'll eat later," she said quietly, adjusting the blanket over her lap.
Zavier nodded and gathered the dishes. He stepped out to take a call, leaving her alone with her thoughts.
Her chest ached.
Not because she had lost the book—but because he had taken it.
'I thought he was just obsessed with me. A secret admirer... not someone after Kaka's legacy.'
She tried to clear her mind and think about the upcoming custody trial. But even that didn't feel like a big deal anymore.
