"That's correct."

"I've existed for far too long—time has lost all meaning to me."

"This place has no seasons, no clear distinction between day and night."

"But during your lightning teleportation, your body—already ravaged by the Ring Explosion—couldn't withstand the energy overload. By the time you arrived at Thunder God's Palace, only your core essence remained. Reconstructing your body in the Thunder Liquid Pool took years." The Thunder God spoke calmly, as if discussing the weather.

"Just tell me—how many years have passed?" Lin Yongming's voice was strained, his fists clenched.

"At least ten."

"TEN?!" Lin Yongming shot up from his seat. "You just said time means nothing to you! How can you be sure it's been a decade?"

"See that flower five meters away?" The Thunder God pointed to a vibrant blossom. "I call it the Yimi Flower. It blooms once every five or six years, its petals lasting only four days. I've watched it bloom twice now."

Lin Yongming turned. The flower was breathtaking—translucent petals in red, blue, yellow, and white shimmered like stained glass.

"Damn it… TEN YEARS!"

"Everything's changed by now! I have to leave—I need to get back to the mainland!" Panic clawed at his throat. The Thunder God had no reason to lie, but the reality was unbearable.

"Even if you could return now, what would you do?" The Thunder God sipped his tea, unfazed. "I've seen your memories through my remnant will. If your loved ones were captured—or killed—by the Spirit Hall, you lack the strength to avenge them."

"Stay. Complete the Thunder God's trials. Only then will you have the power to reclaim what was lost."

"Ten years… A Yin, our unborn child, Dong'er—I don't even know if they're alive! How can I focus on cultivation?!"

Desperate, Lin Yongming tried summoning his Purple Lightning Wings—but nothing happened. His external spirit bone had vanished, destroyed along with his original body.

"I'm leaving NOW!"

Ignoring the Thunder God, he sprinted to the edge of the garden, where the translucent blue barrier hummed with energy. He slammed into it.

THUD!

The barrier repelled him effortlessly. Again and again, he charged—only to be thrown back, until he collapsed, gasping.

"It's futile. Only by passing the Thunder God's Seven Trials can you breach this dome." The Thunder God strolled over, casually sliding his hand through the barrier as if it were water.

"You control this city! Open the barrier—LET ME OUT!" Lin Yongming grabbed the god's arm, his voice raw.

"When the Thunder God neared death, he expended his final breath to lower this palace—and the surrounding Profound Thunder—from the divine realm to this world."

"Even if I opened the barrier, you'd perish within three seconds. Those lightning strikes out there? They're infused with divine energy. One touch, and you'll be erased."

Lin Yongming stared beyond the dome. The sky churned with violent arcs of lightning, each capable of reducing him to ash.

"Then how do I get back?!"

"Complete the trials. Reach Title Douluo strength. This place is 80,000 li from the mainland—crossing such an ocean demands absolute power."

"This planet is vast. Oceans cover 85% of it; your so-called 'Douluo Continent' occupies less than 5%."

"Eighty thousand li… 85%..." Lin Yongming's mind reeled. The scale was staggering, worse than Earth's land-to-sea ratio.

"Stop fixating on geography. Rebuild your strength."

"Your reckless Ring Explosion would've killed you regardless. Consider this a second chance."

"Ten years… alive or dead, I'll never know." Lin Yongming closed his eyes, grief weighing his words.

"Are you certain they perished?" The Thunder God's voice softened. "In your final moments, you saw them."

A memory surfaced—a gigantic violet-black claw emerging from the Star Dou Forest's shadows.

"The Beast Emperor, Di Tian… Did he intervene?"

If so, A Yin and Dong'er might be safer than he feared.

Steeling himself, Lin Yongming met the Thunder God's gaze. "Your remnant knew my goal—to ascend independently through Wave Energy. Why should I inherit your godhood?"

"The two aren't mutually exclusive. Not with my legacy." The Thunder God smiled. "Summon your martial soul."

Puzzled, Lin Yongming raised his right hand.

But instead of his familiar Thunder Judgment Sword, a gleaming azure spear materialized—its shaft etched with silver lightning patterns.

"This is—?!"

"The Nine Heavens Profound Thunder Spear—the Thunder God's divine weapon."

"It bonded with you during your reconstruction. Now, it's your new tool-type martial soul."

Lin Yongming gripped the spear. Power thrummed through his veins, resonating with the storm beyond the dome.

"The Nine Heavens Profound Thunder Spear…"
