Fitz stood silently, watching everything unfold before him. His arms were folded, head nodding slowly as he observed the process, things seemed to be working perfectly.
Alexis remained suspended in her position, still floating in front of the shimmering glass that served as an illusion of The Veil of Echoes. But those who understood the depths of this magic knew it was far more than a simple illusion. It was ancient, layered, and treacherous. Her body was present, glowing slightly, her eyes wide open, locked in trance. That was what mattered most: her eyes, fixed and unblinking, and her body still floating midair.
