Chapter: 101

NARRATOR's POV.
A sting of tears threatened to escape my eyes as we watched the portals close, sealing off the world we'd just left behind. Outside, Lilith was still there, desperate and trembling, waving her hands frantically for one last chance, her voice breaking as she pleaded for help no one could give.
Then, at that very moment, she turned her back.
Inside the swirling void of the portal, Alexis floated, weightless, breathless, suspended in stillness. The silence was almost alive, pressing against her like a thousand unspoken voices.
"Get me the Mirror Space," she commanded sharply, her voice cutting through the stillness like a blade. One of the soldiers, a skilled void-walker who could drift through the portal's current just like Queen Alexis, obeyed instantly. His feet never touched ground, gliding effortlessly through the magic-charged air.
