Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: The Defeat & The Discovery

After I got Sun Lok situated in a wooden cabin inside my suitcase, I decided to go back out and would come back and talk to him when I had the chance.

The cabin itself was a duplicate of the Cabin I made in the Stardust World, but not nearly as expansive, I had created it around the same time I made the tent.

I would make sure to have a long talk with Sun Lok when I get back and we'll see if we can come to some sort of agreement.

I arrived back in Chinatown and saw a large metal eagle and a green Pterosaur fighting in the skies. This was Horvath, Balthazar, and Dave.

I was even able to see Dave on a rooftop shoot a bolt of fire at Horvath. It was easily dealt with by Horvath, but it was a successful magic cast nonetheless.

I then Apparated closer on a nearby rooftop and cast Bombarda Maxima at Horvath.

The spell caught Horvath off guard and knocked him off the creature he was riding on.

He had been able to put up a last-minute magical shield, but I did succeed in getting him out of the air. Balthazar took advantage of the situation and turned the Pterosaur back into a picture and took the Grimhold back, sending it to Dave who had at some point gone out of view and had been hiding off to the side.

Horvath was now on a rooftop as well and was very angry for being attacked by me. But he was shocked that I was able to defeat Sun Lok, that too, so quickly, but decided that it didn't matter as he simply needed to reevaluate his understanding of my power.

He was then taken out of his thoughts by an attack from Balthazar and put up a magical shield, but when he turned around, he didn't see me.

'Where did that bastard go?' He questioned internally.

All of the sudden he felt a sense of danger from behind him and tried to twist his body to avoid whatever danger it was.

"Aghhhh!" He said as an attack had made a large cut on his shoulder as he'd avoided a lethal attack to the neck.

"Where are you?!" He shouted angrily before spreading his staff and a grey smoke was sent outward in the area.

The smoke came across a human silhouette and my spell was dispelled and I appeared to everyone on the same rooftop behind him.

"Oops, guess you found me." I said with a grin as I quickly Apparated to another rooftop, avoiding an attack from Horvath.

"You being able to injure me is of no consequence, once I am better I will show you true pain." He said as he suddenly turned into a swarm of roaches.

I saw him transform and shuddered a little.

"Oh, that's gross." I said before turning to Balthazar who had looked at me.

"For over 2,000 years, Horvath has been able to use this ability to escape death countless times, he would transform into a swarm of insects and when he reformed, any injuries would be gone. It is part of the reason why many were unable to defeat him over the years.." Balthazar explained.

His words were like a bomb had gone off in my head. That is a very powerful form of healing, even more so than normal healing spells.

I had always believed that the reason Balthazar hadn't killed Horvath and instead imprisoned him in the Grimhold was due to some form of lingering care for a past brother-in-arms, but instead, he is simply unable to be killed.

Horvath had finally reformed from the swarm to the realization that he still felt pain in his shoulder. When he looked over he saw that his wound was still there and still bleeding.

"How is this possible?!?" Horvath asked in shock.

Horvath wasn't the only one who was shocked, Balthazar was also shocked

I had paused before I realized what had happened.

The spell I had attacked him with, was the Sectumsempra Curse. This, along with Fiendfyre, were two combat spells I had mastered enough to cast wandlessly as they were too useful not to.

Snape had created the spell to be only countered by a specific counter curse, one that Horvath did not have.

"What magic is this?" Horvath asked with slight fear that could only be seen in his eyes as he knew that his trump card was now useless in front of this bastard's strange magic.

Knowing not to give my enemies any time, I immediately sent another curse at Horvath, aiming for his neck once more, not bothering to answer his question.

Horvath, knowing the effect of the magic, took no chances and created his shield to protect against the magic, but I was not alone.

Balthazar attacked as well, using the metal fire escape nearby to bind Horvath and used it to pull his magical staff away from his hands.

"Wait!" Balthazar said quickly to stop me from sending the curse at Horvath once more.

I gave Balthazar a confused look but listened. I canceled the spell and waited for Balthazar to explain.

"Sorry, but to be able to keep Morgana sealed inside the Grimhold, additional layers are needed. The Grimhold is drawing from the captured Morganians' magic to fuel her seal." Balthazar explained.

I nodded as it only further explained why Balthazar would capture and lock the Morganians in the Grimhold over the years instead of killing them.

As Balthazar was dealing with Horvath, I was deep in thought about the possibilities of my magic.

After discovering that the curse could affect Horvath's immortal body, I realized that the Killing Curse should also be able to kill him as based on what I know about it, it affects the person's soul, not their physical body.

This theory means that I could probably kill Morgana, even in her soul form. But for now, I agree with Balthazar, Morgana needs to be sealed for longer, enough time for Dave to get stronger so he can defeat her, I can also help him fight her.

"Dave bring the doll." Balthazar said and Dave walked over from behind the water tower, holding the Grimhold.

"This isn't the end Balthazar, I will return and Morgana will be freed, she will be the ruler of this world sooner or later." Horvath said before he turned into a swarm of insects and was sucked toward the grimhold.

Another layer forms on the nesting doll with Horvath's image.

Balthazar turned towards Dave and held out his hand.

"You may now return the ring to me. I'm a man of my word, you helped me, we're done." Balthazar said.

"Right, right, uh."

Dave paused, staring at Merlin's Dragon Ring on his finger.

"I'd like to learn some more." Dave said to which Balthazar smiled
