Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: The Second Master

Balthazar had suggested we get some food and stop for the night.

We all went to a nearby burger place and ate our fill. Balthazar had decided that he would live and sleep at Dave's lab and I told them that I had a hotel that I was staying at where all my stuff was and I would go there for the night and meet back the next day.

Balthazar agreed and they made their way back to the lab, while I made my way to a random rooftop I saw through Apparation.

There was no hotel, but I needed a private place to talk with Sun Lok.

"Repelo Muggletum"

"Salvio Hexia"

"Muffliato"

These were simple charms to make sure that I wouldn't be discovered as I then took out my shrunken suitcase, enlarged it, then entered inside.

Inside I found my cabin and the bound Sun Lok

I undid the stun and he woke up, I could tell that his natural magical power and strength stopped the Full-Body Bind spell, but he was still affected by the stunning spell.

I then undid the ropes on him and he seemed to glaring at me in anger.

"Do you speak any language other than Cantonese?" I asked in Cantonese surprising Sun Lok because as far as he knew I was a young man and it was unexpected for a young man to be fluent in another language.

"Of course I am, I'd be a disgrace of a Sorcerer if I knew only my native tongue." He replied.

I had known what he said in the battle earlier due to my knowledge and a translation spell that I had cast before we got to Chinatown.

"Good, then that makes this easy." I said as I stared at him.

He then watched in shock as my youthful appearance changed until I looked my true age. Now, while I was in my normal form, I still looked younger than I was.

At 41 years old, I looked to be in my early 30s still young, but a lot older looking than when I looked to be in my late teens to early 20s.

"Ahh, I see you were disguised. Is this your true appearance?" Sun asked.

"Maybe, but that's not what you should care about." I replied with a grin.

"You are correct, what exactly is it you want from me?" He asked.

"That is an excellent question." I replied as I began to reach into my pocket for his bracelet that I had taken off after training.

"I'll make this simple, I was planning to kill you, but I'll let you live because you have something I need. We can work out a deal and I'll let you go after it's over. You don't have much of a choice as you don't have this." I explained while holding up his bracelet.

Now I had other options, I could use the Imperius Curse to control him, but there is an integral difference between a normal Sun Lok and one under the Imperius.

The imperius could make him my puppet and have him teach me his magic, correct me when I make mistakes, and explain the best way to do things, but there are some issues.

First, the imperius is not a spell that lasts forever, it must be constantly applied when it wears off and the spell drains your magic continuously while in use. That wastes time and magic.

Secondly, while the spell can be cast multiple times on the same target, the more it is cast on the same target the less effect it will have as they would develop a resistance to it.

This was how many wizarding families would train to make themselves impervious to the effects of the curse, it's why it was even more unbelievable that the former Death Eaters claimed they were under said curse to work for Voldemort. One more example of the corruption of the leading figures of the wizarding world.

Because of these issues, I am using Sun Lok's freedom and life as a bargaining tool.

I then looked at him closely before speaking.

"If you help to teach me your magic for just 10 years, then I will consider your debt as paid and you will be free. I will also remind you, that I have a spell that can read your mind so if you try to trick me or give me false information, I will end you right then and there." I explained.

"Now, let's get started, where is the book that Morgana made for her magic similar to an Encantus?" I questioned, quickly changing the subject as he seemed very angry at my words of the promise of death.

As soon as Sun Lok had woken up, maybe even after he was defeated, he knew his situation, without his magical focus, he was no better than a normal human, a stronger human, but a normal one nonetheless. He knew he was at the whim of this clever Sorcerer.

He seemed to have calmed down and as it was only 10 years, he didn't see much of an issue with it. As an immortal over 2,000 years old, 10 years is nothing.

"Very well, I agree. I hope you will keep your end of the bargain and free me after I have done what you have asked." Sun Lok replied while staring me down.

"You don't have to worry about that, I may be a terrible person and maybe even a little psychotic, but I am a man of my word." I said with a smile.

"Alright then, where shall we begin?" He asked.

"The book, where is it?" I asked again.

"I no longer have the book, it was lost after Balthazar sealed me in the Grimhold, it would be with the current generation of Morganians." Sun Lok explained.

"Have you memorized every spell in the book?" I asked, not expecting anything, but hoping.

"Of course not, there are a wide variety of magics from Sorcerers from every Era, there are thousands, maybe even millions of spells. Each Morganian would normally choose one or two magics to focus on that they have a talent with and at most would add their own comprehension to it. Just as I excel with Transmutation and Fire Magic, Horvath has a talent for Air magic, metamorphosis, and reality-bending spells." Sun Lok explained.

Taking everything Sun Lok said into account, I knew I had only one choice at the moment if I wanted to learn Morganian magic.

"The most current generation of Morganians huh? Well, I guess I'll be having another sleepless night." I said aloud as I knew I had to find Drake Stone, a Morganian who used his magic for petty tricks on stage acting as a Magician for entertainment here in New York.

He's pretty famous so it won't be hard to find him, it'll be like the many days when I would be up all night using a bootleg version of the Wide-eye Potion that would keep the drinker awake and coincidentally is also the cure for the Draught of the living death Potion which puts the drinker in a death like sleep.

'Well, time to go Magician Hunting.'
