Chapter 1 - A hunter, a vampire and a werewolf... plus a human.

The year 2025 is the golden age of invention, the golden age of wars. These were not simple wars fought over land or politics. They were wars layered in secrecy and blood, fought not only by soldiers but by beings the world had long believed to be fiction. Vampires, werewolves, and hunters, names once reserved for bedtime stories and forgotten folklore, now moved behind the curtains of power, steering the chaos.

But these creatures were no longer bound by the old rules. They didn't hide in forests or burn beneath the sun. They didn't fall to silver bullets or wooden stakes. The stories that once kept humans safe had grown useless. They had changed.

They had adapted to the modern world, to technology, to war, and to fear. They were no longer monsters to be slain. They had become something else entirely, untouchable beings that ruled from the shadows, disguised as leaders, scientists, soldiers. You couldn't kill what you couldn't even see, and you couldn't fight what didn't fear you anymore—

"Stop reading that shit." A harsh man's voice came from the bar counter while light jazz played in the background.

"Shit? This is the truth and let me point out the untouchable part." A woman said as she smiled at him and pointed at the newspaper in her hands.

"Untouchable? Of course, because y'all lame ass had hundreds and thousands of years evolving, but still got clapped by me." The man laughed as he shot down his whiskey and leaned back in his chair.

"Clapped?" The woman smiled again. "I can kill you in less than a second, Damian." She smiled again, but this time she show her fangs too, that scalpe sharp tooth that can snap neck in a second

"Ohh really?" Damian asked as he turned to her more. "Look at these babies…" He said as he opened his black suit showing off a two silver revolver, with intricate carving on them and more importantly runes on the barrel all along as he pulled it out. "Silver bullets with blessed holy runes, darling, and a little bit explosive." He said as he spinned the revol in his hand. "Your beautiful face would be gone if you tried to touch me."

"Stealing from the Temple? How holy are you?" She sighed as she reached for her drink.

"Well, they trained us and then when the peace treaty was signed, they just fucking left us, so I grabbed what was mine."

"What are you two talking about?" Another deep voice came. "Arguing again?" He asked as he sat down on the far side of the counter and the bartender immediately put a whiskey in front of him.

"If yes, what are you going to do about it, bark at me?" she asked, chilling. "Vao vao vao, boo hoo, you two are all species that just lick my feet." She said as she leaned back.

There was a little silence until Damian laughed about it. "Well, I would love to lick your snow white skin from the feet to the—"

He couldn't finish it as her fingernails, sharp as a scalpel, shot up toward his throat.

"Uhh… that's why I hate your family, can grow your nails like fucking swords." Damian whispered as he looked at her, but her eyes were deep red now, like she totally lost it. She was ready to kill him at any given moment… as well as Damian was ready.

Yeah, he flicked his hand as fast as Charlotte, her fingers, and the revolver was straight aimed at her head.

"You two, just once, chill out." Again the man spoke between them as the bartender handed him the second whiskey.

"Vao vao, I didn't ask for your opinion." Charlotte said as she shot an eye at him.

"Oh, are you menstruating or what, darling?" Damian teased her again with the smile on his face as he aimed the gun at her head, and well, she just got more furious about it that her whole body shook and her eyes just became more deep red.

"I can't smell it." Suddenly, Gerard spoke as he literally was sniffing the air, which to Damian just started laughing.

But for her, it wasn't really funny as she pushed her fingernail more to Damian's throat and made a crucial mistake.. she accidentally cut him, and his blood slowly started flowing down on his throat.

"Uhh, you fucked up…" Damian spoke.

"If you two say another fucking word, I'll kill both of you—"

"Miss, I would like to remind you of the rules of the hotel." The bartender suddenly spoke as he placed down on the counter a full black sword with white and red runes all over it. "There is no fight in the hotel. If yes, I will need to kill you, miss, as well as everyone who had their hand in the conflict." He looked at Damian and Gerard.

They were acutely frozen down for different reasons. One is that that sword was just radiating darkness, like it was alive and was swallowing all lives around it.

"We are sorry." Damian spoke as he put back his revolver to the holster. "Apologize, Charlotte, before we die because of you."

She shot another eye at him, but she too sat back calmly and crossed her leg. "I apologize. There is no need for any further actions."

The bartender for a moment still eyed them, but then he grabbed the sword and spun it between his hands and holstered it back and said nothing, just sat there wiping glasses like nothing happened.

"Just to know Damian." Charlotte spoke as he grabbed her whisky "There is one man who can touch me and that is—"

"Oh my god, like a joke, there is a vampire, a werewolf, and a hunter at the table drinking whiskey until—"

"Lucian?!" Charlotte's voice suddenly went high as she screamed now and immediately jumped out of her seat and started sprinting toward him and jumped. She was fast, so fast that Lucian immediately fell back, hitting the ground while Charlotte was on top of him.

Then came the breathing, she totally changed personality in a millisecond and started punching him.

"Where were you for 2 weeks?!" She shouted as she slapped him once and twice.

"I was ill, Charlotte, I literally messaged it in the group chat…" Lucian said as he tried to push her off.

"Ill?" She asked back as she now totally gained control and pushed down Lucian's hands with power that he couldn't do shit.

"Yeah, ill, Charlotte, I had a fever." He said as he was looking deep in her blood red eyes, and well, he kinda knew he fucked up when that small but cute smile appeared on her face.

"Let me bite you then…" she said as her breath got quick, and she was blushing as she slowly leaned into Lucian's neck.

"Wait, Charlotte, don't—"

She was close to it, her tongue was already licking Lucian's neck when she felt the sharp blade pushed to her throat.
