Chapter 4: Attacking Him
Samantha's POV
A wave of nausea crashed over me, a sudden, unwelcome surge that threatened to overwhelm. I blinked, trying to focus, to anchor myself to something real.
My head throbbed, a dull, persistent ache that echoed with every pulse. I was lying on a bed, the sheets tangled around me. Sunlight streamed through a nearby window, and I could feel a cold aura within the room. The room was unfamiliar; it was cold and a little dark despite the reflections of the sun rays.
I tried to sit up, but my muscles protested, weak and unresponsive. The world tilted again, and I squeezed my eyes shut, fighting the urge to succumb once more to the darkness. Where was I? How have I gotten here? The questions echoed in my mind, not remembering how I passed out. The questions remained unanswered as I struggled to regain control of my body.
"Are you awake?" I heard a thick voice from the side, and that made me jerk up immediately despite the pain. 'The cold aura?' I pondered as I saw his backside.
"Here, drink this." He walked towards me with a cup of tea. "And why should I take anything from you?" I slapped it away from his hand and stepped backwards in fear.
'What business did my father do with this man? Why am I in his custody? I don't want to be here!' I was sweating profusely and couldn't find the right word to attack him, even though I was known for my sharp mouth.
I knew what he was capable of. "Is my father in trouble?" That was the first thing I said, knowing he wasn't doing that for some money.
"I am trying to help him avoid that," Luca said. 'And that is a reason for kidnapping?' I thought.
"How are you going to do that? Sell my organ or force me into prostitution? Please —let me go. I will make sure to pay you back with interest…. Take me to my father."
"I don't like that dress. I got you a dress, but you seem to have been too busy to change since yesterday. Let me help you with that," Luca mumbled, ignoring my pleas.
I furrowed my eyebrows confusedly. "I know you can hear me!" I yelled, but he kept ignoring me, and then his steps didn't stop as he closed the space between us.
"Don't touch me, don't you dare!" I yelled, but that doesn't seem to work. I got angrier as he got closer to me.
"Samantha," he called with a lot of warmth in his voice, but I didn't care because the only thing I could see was a dangerous man trying to have his way with me. "Get away from me, monster!" I shifted backwards angrily, but he just smiled.
"I got you something to eat. You haven't been feeding since yesterday; you look haggard. Come here," Luca said, motioning me to come closer, but I looked at him like some crazy man.
'Is he suffering from a selective memory? How can he kidnap me and still act like nothing happened?'
"Are you out of your mind?" I asked angrily. "Yes, so eat when I'm being nice…. Be a good girl," he replied and turned his back on me.
'Being nice? Is he going to kill me if he loses it?' I pondered as I reached for the knife he put on the food tray. I didn't know what I was doing; I just wanted to survive. I attacked him from behind, but his reflex was so good that I lost control of the knife in a second.
"I told you to be a good girl." he muttered coldly, sending chills down my spine. 'I failed! I'm done!' I widened my eyes in shock.
How could I even think of that? I'm done!
