Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1: THE NIGHT OF BETRAYAL

The moon hung low and crimson over the capital of Draegor, casting an eerie glow on the grand palace walls. Within, the scent of wine and roasted meat filled the air as nobles feasted, oblivious to the storm brewing beneath their noses.

Kael Draven, Supreme General of Draegor, strode through the palace corridors. His black armor gleamed under torchlight, the silver wolf emblem on his chestplate marking him as the kingdom's fiercest warrior. His face, scarred but noble, was set in a hard line.

Something was wrong.

For weeks, he had felt it — the whispers behind closed doors, the sudden coldness of the king he had served loyally since youth. Tonight, it was unbearable. His instincts, sharpened by years on the battlefield, screamed at him.

Kael pushed open the grand doors to the throne room.

"Your Majesty," he said, dropping to one knee.

King Valen sat upon the obsidian throne, his jeweled crown gleaming. Beside him, his advisors — and Kael's trusted comrades — stood in eerie silence.

"Kael Draven," the king said slowly. "You stand accused of treason."

Kael's head snapped up, eyes wide.

"My king?"

"You have grown too powerful, General. The people chant your name, not mine. Even my own soldiers look to you for orders. This kingdom has but one ruler — and it shall not be you."

A sharp whistle echoed through the chamber.

From the shadows stepped Rovan, Kael's closest friend since childhood — sword drawn, face a mask of betrayal.

Kael rose, hand on his hilt.

"Rovan... what are you doing?"

"I'm sorry, Kael. You should have seen this coming."

Steel flashed.

Kael drew his blade, parrying the first strike. But from all sides came soldiers — men he had trained, now turned against him.

The throne room became a storm of steel. Kael fought like a beast, his greatsword a blur. Bodies fell, but they kept coming. A spear pierced his side. A blade cut deep into his thigh.

Finally, Rovan's sword drove through Kael's gut, pinning him to the polished stone.

Kael dropped to his knees, blood pooling beneath him. His vision blurred, but he locked eyes with the king.

"Traitors... all of you..." he rasped.

The king rose, stepping down from the throne.

"You should have known, Kael. In this world, power is all that matters. And tonight, yours ends."

Kael's head lowered. The weight of betrayal crushed him more than any blade.

But in his final moment, as darkness crept in, he swore silently:

> If there is another life… I will rise again. And I will burn this world to ash.

Kael's body collapsed onto the cold marble floor, lifeless… or so it seemed.

As his breath faded, a strange warmth spread through his chest. The world of Draegor melted away — darkness swallowing him whole.

But in that endless void, a light appeared. A crimson sigil spun before him, ancient runes encircling it.

> [Ding! Supreme Tyrant System detected... Suitable host found... Binding process initiated...]

A voice — mechanical, cold, yet brimming with power — echoed in the emptiness.

> [Warning: Host vitals critical. Initiating emergency reincarnation protocol...]

[System privilege: Granting host one second life. Objective: Conquer, dominate, ascend.]

Kael's pain faded. His wounds vanished. His body felt weightless, like pure energy.

His mind raced.

> "A system? Reincarnation? What trickery is this?"

The voice spoke again, louder this time.

> [Host soul compatibility: 99%. Binding complete. Welcome, Kael Draven. The Supreme Tyrant rises.]

With a sudden jolt, Kael felt himself pulled toward a new world.

---

He awoke on cracked earth beneath a red sky. Jagged mountains loomed in the distance, and the air crackled with raw energy.

Kael pushed himself up, finding his body young, strong, and unscarred. His armor was gone, replaced by black combat leathers that molded to his form.

On his back — a massive blade forged of black steel: the Bloodfang Greatsword.

> [Initial rewards granted.]

Title: Supreme Tyrant (+10% loyalty, +10% strength for all subordinates)

Skill: Tyrant's Command (Force lesser beings to submit)

Weapon: Bloodfang Greatsword (Bound weapon: absorbs enemy life force)

Kael looked at his hands, then at the desolate land before him.

> "A new world... a new chance."

His voice was filled with hunger — not for survival, but for dominion.

> "This time, I will not serve. I will rule."

A savage wind howled across the barren plain. Kael took his first step forward — and immediately, a roar split the sky.

From behind a craggy ridge thundered a monstrous beast: a four-armed ogre, skin the color of ash, fangs dripping with venom. Its eyes burned red with rage as it charged.

> [Ding! First battle detected. Bonus XP activated for first kill.]

Kael grinned, the thrill of combat awakening in his blood.

> "Come, then. Let this new world test me."

The ogre swung a massive club. Kael ducked low, his movements swift and precise. His greatsword came up in a savage arc, biting deep into the ogre's side.

> [Bloodfang Greatsword effect activated: Life drain +5 HP]

The ogre bellowed, backhanding Kael with one massive fist. He staggered, tasting blood, but his strength surged as the sword fed him stolen life.

Kael roared in return — a sound that echoed across the plain. His blade flashed again and again, carving through thick hide, severing muscle and bone.

Finally, with a mighty overhead strike, he split the creature's skull.

The ogre fell, shaking the ground as it died.

> [Congratulations! First kill bonus: +500 XP, +5 Strength, +1 Skill Point]

> [New Skill Unlocked: Predator's Instinct — Heightens senses, +20% evasion in combat]

Kael stood over the corpse, chest heaving, eyes alight with victory.

> "Power… real power. And this is just the beginning."

---

As he turned to survey the land, the System chimed again:

> [New quest generated: The Path of the Tyrant]

Objective: Establish your first domain. Subjugate or destroy local warlords.

Reward: 1,000 XP, Subjugation Banner (boosts army morale, +15% attack when raised).

Kael clenched his fists, feeling the weight of destiny pressing upon him.

> "I was betrayed once. Never again. This time, I forge my own empire."

Above him, storm clouds gathered, as if the world itself trembled at his resolve.

Kael wiped the ogre's black blood from his blade, the weight of this rebirth settling upon him. The plains stretched endlessly, but he knew — somewhere beyond those jagged peaks — lay kingdoms, cities, and thrones ripe for the taking.

> [System Notice: The world of Ashkar is a brutal, lawless realm. Only strength reigns supreme. Mercy is weakness. Power is truth.]

The words fueled his fire.

> "No more loyalty to kings. No more blind service. This time, I carve my own legend."

A flicker of movement caught his eye — a band of raiders emerging from the rocks, drawn by the sound of battle. Their armor was patchwork, faces scarred and hungry.

Their leader, a towering brute with a scar across his throat, raised a rusted axe.

"Your sword. Your life. Both are mine!" the man growled.

Kael smirked.

> "Fools."

He strode toward them, raising the Bloodfang Greatsword.

> [Skill Activated: Tyrant's Command]

A dark aura exploded from him, washing over the raiders. Fear gripped their hearts. Knees buckled. Hands trembled.

"W-we submit!" one cried, dropping his weapon.

Kael stood tall, his voice thunderous.

"Swear loyalty to me — or die where you stand."

Without hesitation, they fell to their knees, heads bowed.

> [Quest update: First domain established — +1,000 XP]

[New item acquired: Subjugation Banner]

The System chimed once more.

> [Title unlocked: Warlord of the Wastes]

---

As night fell on Ashkar, Kael planted the black banner of his rule in the blood-soaked earth. The wind caught its tattered edge, and the first sparks of his empire began to glow in the darkness.

Above, the crimson moon bore silent witness to the rise of the Supreme Tyrant.

And so began Kael Draven's path — from betrayed general to ruler of a new world.
