THE DEVIL'S BRIDE
Episode 43: The Book of the Fallen
By Rapwizzy Debaron
The truth still echoed in the valley.
Brothers.
Kael and Lucien — once sons of the stars.
Evelyn — not just the bride of the devil, but the divine punishment meant to bind them.
Kael's hand trembled around the hilt of his sword. "That's impossible."
The Archivist's scroll burned with a slow, golden fire. "Then why does your blood carry the mark of celestial flame?"
Lucien took a step back, his expression unreadable. "So this is what they hid from us..."
Evelyn stood in the center of the storm, hair whipping around her, heart splintering with every word.
"I was never just human," she whispered.
"No," the Archivist said softly. "You were the flame that ended heaven's war."
---
From behind the veil of reality, the Book of the Fallen rose.
Not a book of paper and ink, but of light and memory, forged from the cries of betrayed angels.
It hovered before Evelyn, waiting.
Kael moved forward. "Don't touch it. It could destroy you."
But Evelyn didn't flinch.
She reached out—and it opened.
---
Visions surged like a flood.
Kael and Lucien in white armor, wielding divine swords.
A throne split in half.
A war among angels over a single forbidden act:
Falling in love with a mortal.
Auriel.
She had been a guardian. A protector.
And she chose to love Kael — defying the stars, dooming herself.
When Lucien tried to stop her, the heavens punished them all.
Kael fell in chains.
Lucien was erased from the archives of time.
And Auriel… was shattered and reborn as Evelyn.
---
Tears streamed down Evelyn's face.
"I was the curse."
"No," the Archivist said gently. "You were their fear. A love strong enough to burn heaven itself."
---
Suddenly, the book snapped shut.
Black lightning tore through the sky.
Seraphina stood on a mountain of bones, the chained boy at her side.
"She's remembering too quickly," she hissed. "This was not the plan!"
With a wave of her hand, her army rose again—stronger, hungrier, twisted by forgotten rage.
The sky turned crimson.
---
Kael stepped in front of Evelyn. "We fight together."
Lucien summoned his blade. "No more lies. No more hiding."
Evelyn stood tall, the flame in her chest burning brighter.
"No more running."
She opened her palms—and wings of silver fire burst from her back.
---
To be continued…
The past has returned. The war begins anew.
And Evelyn… is no longer afraid.
Vote if her wings gave you chills.
