Chapter 7 - Spiritual conquest cannot be left behind

Logically, it shouldn't be. Could it be... that mastermind!

"Which Supervillain is it?" Ciscel's expression changed slightly.

"Unclear, it seems to be a group of alien forces. They have heavy weaponry, and there have already been multiple casualties, including several street Superheroes.

The safety of the citizens is in imminent danger. The Global Guardians are not here now. Should we consider the possibility of being unable to resist and immediately organize a city-wide evacuation?"

Donald, who looked like a kind old man, glanced at Russell and the other two when he spoke the last sentence. This action was actually very subtle.

But in front of Russell, whose neural reaction speed could make time seem almost still, it was a bit clumsy, practically couldn't be more obvious.

"Debbie..." Ciscel pleaded with his eyes. Aunt Debbie, who had always been soft-hearted, her lips trembled, but her attitude still softened. Without a word, she turned around and started taking care of her husband.

This was acquiescence.

Kindhearted, she couldn't stand by and watch the lives of so many citizens be threatened.

"Mark, I know You. You've already started learning to be a Superhero like your Father."

"And You, Russell, You are also remarkable, with an outstanding temperament. So many heroic corpses with tragic appearances didn't break You down.

You are naturally cut out to be a Superhero."

Ciscel breathed a slight sigh of relief, looked at Mark with a serious expression, then looked at Russell, speaking in a solemn tone that was extremely capable of inciting young people, similar to some kind of sacred calling.

"The Global Defense Agency's strength is depleted; we have no other Superheroes we can send out.

Now this city and even the Earth need You. Are You willing to contribute your strength?"

"Of course!"

As if infected by Ciscel's words, especially hearing Ciscel mention his Father, Mark gradually clenched his fists and nodded with a serious expression.

Russell just shrugged, indicating he could.

He saw through the scheming Ciscel was doing beneath his seemingly righteous exterior.

Ciscel is just like that; he's quite annoying in some ways, but if one day the Earth were in imminent danger, and Ciscel could save the Earth just by kneeling publicly and licking someone's toes, he would definitely lick them.

The Earth was saved later, humanity wasn't destroyed, and sometimes it was thanks to him.

Superheroes might detest him, but billions of ordinary people who were preserved might have a different view.

"In short—a decent person who will stop at nothing."

Of course, most importantly, even if Ciscel didn't say anything, Russell would still go resolve that group of alien forces and become a Superhero loved and respected by good people and feared to the bone by villains.

"Defeating by force or gaining through corpses allows me to have multiple powerful templates that can be swapped and used at any time.

But in the long run, if I want to truly gather countless abilities in one person and be powerful in all aspects without blind spots, mental conquest cannot be neglected."

Seeing that both capable young men had agreed, joy flashed in Ciscel's eyes.

At this moment, Aunt Debbie's sharp gaze swept over, and she interjected mercilessly.

"They will only help temporarily; they will not join your Global Defense Agency!"

"Naturally."

Ciscel raised his hand and smiled reassuringly, not minding.

Although he was now a bit suspicious about who killed the Global Guardians, it hadn't been confirmed yet.

Ciscel didn't dare take advantage of Omni-Man, the most powerful Superhero on Earth, being in a coma to trick his son and nephew, who was like an adopted son, into joining his agency to take orders.

"Debbie, we have a Nurse here specifically watching over him; You can go rest nearby first." Having settled the two young men, Ciscel said to Debbie, who had been called over halfway through her shift.

"Give me ice towels and ice water, and prepare a folding bed for me here. I'm not going anywhere."

"Debbie?"

"Ciscel, I'm not some weak woman who is easily frightened." Aunt Debbie pursed her lips tightly, like a resilient kapok flower that would never be beaten down by wind and rain, gazing at her husband on the hospital bed.

"Alright."

Ciscel told people to leave the ward and not disturb the couple, then turned to look at Russell and Mark, saying, "As for You two young men, it's time to go. This city needs You."

"I need to go home and change into my suit first, Cousin, I'm leaving now."

Mark scratched his head.

Fortunately, in terms of distance, it wouldn't take him more than a few seconds.

Saying that, he flew out the window, breaking through the air and flying away.

"What about You, Russell, should we find You a decent combat suit?

As fellow speedsters, there are still a few suits prepared for Red Rush back then." Ciscel said.

"Not for now." Russell didn't have the habit of using things left over by others, and he also left at high speed.

He knew the origin of the alien army that would appear here, although they would pose a great threat to the Earth later.

But now, it wouldn't take much effort to deal with them.

Whoosh!

He arrived in the middle of the city, where gunfire roared, in less than a second.

Russell's figure reappeared, with a solid black mask on his face. He had picked this up from a street vendor on his way over, leaving five U.S. dollars.

A civilian Superhero team had already arrived, all with young faces, trying their best to block the tide-like alien army, but they were struggling greatly.

War and invasion suddenly descended, and the surrounding citizens were scared out of their wits and fled in terror.

"Help, save us!"

"There are aliens, aliens are invading the Earth!"

A massive interdimensional portal stood in the distance, its edges flickering with unstable arcs. Its interior was crimson like blood, as if one could see the strange sky of another dimension.

The invading alien army was grim and ruthless in appearance.

Each alien soldier was humanoid with green skin and a few tentacles on their heads. Their entire bodies were covered in some kind of streamlined high-tech armor, and they uniformly held thick plasma laser guns in their hands, carrying out indiscriminate slaughter on every living creature they saw!

Each laser blast was immensely powerful, capable of turning people into pulp and blowing cars away.

Making it difficult for those teenage Superheroes to resist.

Whoosh!

"Who will save my child!"

On the sidewalk, a mother who had been pushed and squeezed to the ground watched in despair as the baby stroller containing her child slid towards the alien army.

The infant looked around with innocent curiosity, not yet knowing what was happening around him or what fate awaited him.

An alien soldier noticed the infant in the stroller, his eyes cold and merciless, and was about to open fire to eliminate this dimension's young biological entity.

But unfortunately, Russell also noticed this area.

Everything in the World instantly slowed down, the light seemed to be stretched, and he appeared in front of that alien soldier in an instant like lightning, able to see his reflection in the alien soldier's eyes.

But that alien soldier had no reaction, like a solidified wax statue, still staring at that baby stroller, his finger moving incredibly slowly towards the trigger.

Everything on the downtown square, except for the lasers still flying, fell into stagnation.

Pushing down the muzzle of that alien's gun, he leisurely scanned his surroundings. It was an unprecedented novel experience. Russell smiled faintly, turned back, and punched the alien soldier in the chin.

The alien soldier's head exploded with a boom, blood mixed with white gelatinous substance splattering into the air.
