Chapter 22 – Storm and Fury: The Thunder vs. The Dragon Queen
The sky above the island was heavy with storm clouds, crackling with electric blue streaks that tore through the darkness like sharp blades. The air hummed with raw energy, and the fierce wind whipped up clouds of dust and debris from the scorched beach where the battle was unfolding. The crashing waves of the sea echoed like the roar of the wildest beasts, amplifying the sense of an apocalyptic storm.
Mounted atop Shiro, who shone like a living tempest in her Light Fury form, Thor was a figure of pure power and determination. Shiro's radiant armor of lightning and thunder pulsated with vibrant energy — her wings sliced through the sky with a thunderous beat, each flap sending sparks and bolts of electricity crackling across the battlefield.
Before them, the Dragon Queen rose like a living mountain, a colossal beast covered in obsidian-black scales that shimmered with heat and menace. Her eyes burned like molten coals, glowing fiercely through the thick smoke and ash hanging in the air. From her jaws came a deafening roar that shook the very earth beneath them, sending a tremor through the sea and sky alike.
Thor gripped the reins tightly, feeling the surge of power radiating through Shiro's armor and coursing through his veins.
"Let the storm begin," he growled, voice low and thunderous.
With a roar that blended the fury of the heavens and the earth, Shiro launched herself into the air with explosive force. Her wings beat powerfully, generating a spiraling vortex of silvery lightning that descended like a spear toward the Dragon Queen.
The beast responded with a torrent of blue flames, hotter and more intense than anything Thor had ever seen. The fire clashed violently with Shiro's storm, igniting a massive explosion that tore through the battlefield, sending sand, rock, and splinters flying like shrapnel.
The force of the collision cracked the island's surface, creating deep fissures and sending shards of stone hurtling in all directions. Trees were uprooted, and the violent waves slammed into the shore with relentless fury, shaking the cliffs.
Thor steadied himself in the saddle, his eyes never leaving the monstrous foe.
"Let's show this beast what true thunder sounds like!" he shouted, raising his electrified battle axe high.
He charged forward with fierce speed, each swing of his axe trailing arcs of brilliant blue lightning. Shiro matched his rhythm perfectly, firing successive bolts of lightning that hammered the Dragon Queen's armored hide. Sparks flew from her scales where the lightning struck, leaving scorch marks and cracks across her massive form.
But the Dragon Queen was no ordinary foe. With a mighty sweep of her massive tail, she slammed the ground with such force that the earth split open, sending Thor and Shiro flying backwards.
They crashed hard onto the rocky terrain, grit and dust clouding the air. Yet, both warrior and dragon rose quickly, their resolve unshaken, energy blazing in their eyes.
"We can't back down now!" Thor roared, gripping his axe tighter. "This is the fight that defines us!"
Shiro let out a fierce, electrifying cry, unleashing a storm of lightning bolts that streaked across the sky, illuminating the battlefield like a beacon of war.
Together, they charged again—a whirlwind of light and electricity against the Dragon Queen's raw, primal fury.
Each strike echoed like thunderclaps, shaking the very ground beneath their feet. The ocean waves roared and crashed against the cliffs with terrifying power. Trees ignited from stray flames and the wind howled as if mourning the destruction.
Meanwhile, Soluço guided the other dragons in a protective formation, shielding the retreating Viking forces from the battle's most dangerous zones. From his vantage point above, he watched his brother and Shiro fight with awe.
"They're storms incarnate... unstoppable," he murmured, heart pounding.
The Dragon Queen, wearied but defiant, let out a final, earth-shaking roar. She gathered her remaining strength and unleashed a devastating blast of blue fire, a torrent of flame that threatened to consume everything in its path.
Thor steadied himself, channeling every ounce of power from Shiro and his own fighting spirit into one devastating strike. His axe crackled with electric fury, glowing brighter than ever before.
The two forces collided in a cataclysmic burst that tore through the sky and ripped open the earth. The shockwave blasted outward in every direction, hurling rock and ash into the air.
When the dust finally settled, the Dragon Queen knelt, battered and defeated — her fierce rage quelled by the storm of thunder and lightning.
Thor and Shiro descended slowly, exhausted but victorious, beneath a clearing sky bathed in warm sunlight. The island was scarred, but the tempest had passed.
Thor turned to Shiro, voice heavy with relief and pride.
"This is just the beginning. The true storm has only just begun."
