Chapter 1 - Having a Bad Day

*** This is basically a random idea I had while sitting at home lazily. I might start writing it after the current stories are done, or maybe not. Who knows xD

Lately all I see are translations on top lists, basically zero or 1% og stories get recognized. So not really hopeful about it although I know it's gonna be epic , the concept is very unique. Anyway, I'll check back later on the feedback in a few months.***

The sun hung lazily over the horizon, casting long, dappled shadows across the ragged stretch of beach. Gulls squawked overhead, wings beating rhythmically against the wind, while the ocean crashed against jagged rocks with a steady, unyielding cadence.

For anyone watching, it would have been the picture of tranquility—if not for the two teenagers jabbing a third unconscious boy with a stick like he was a particularly interesting sea slug.

The first boy wore a wide-brimmed orange hat that flopped with each poke, his black hair messy and windswept. He was shirtless, dressed only in a pair of tattered shorts, and looked like he'd been on the island for far too long.

The other, with long light blue hair and a green jacket flapping open, squatted next to him, tapping the unconscious kid's cheek lightly. They both seemed to be around eighteen, while the one on the ground looked a bit younger—maybe sixteen or seventeen.

"You think he's dead?" the boy with the hat asked, tilting his head.

"Should we eat him?" the other responded, almost too casually.

The first one recoiled like he'd been slapped. "What the hell is wrong with you? What kind of sick freak even suggests that?!"

"Hey man," the blue-haired one shrugged, "we've been starving for days now. This island's got nothing but weird-ass fruit and killer crabs. Even if we finish the boat, I don't know if we'll last."

"You literally just ate half of that fruit!" the boy in the hat shot back, jabbing his thumb toward the half-eaten chunk still lying in the sand.

"That tasted like garbage, man," his companion grimaced. "And it just gave you weird flame powers while all I got was a shitty aftertaste in my mouth. You can't expect me to go a few days without eating. This guy's already dead, so—"

A sudden cough broke through the argument, weak but undeniably alive. Both boys jerked back, startled. "Holy shit! He's alive!" the blue-haired one yelped, dropping his stick like it had caught fire.

The kid on the ground groaned, clutching his head as he slowly sat up. His long black hair was matted with sand and seawater, and his golden eyes flickered open, glaring at the two poking him. "Which bastard was talking about eating me? I'll rip his nuts off!"

The boy in the orange hat barked out a laugh, pointing dramatically. "You wanna try us, asshole? I'll burn your hair off!"

The blue-haired one sighed deeply, rubbing his temples. "Great, another weirdo. Just what we needed."

"Who are you calling a weirdo, you masked bastard?!" both yelled in unison, like they'd been waiting to say it.

The blue-haired boy cracked a grin. "You looking for a beating?"

That was how the first meeting of one of the strangest trios in pirate history began—with half-threats, sand in their hair, and bruised egos. None of them knew it yet, but that fateful encounter on Sixis Island was going to shake the world.

***

After a scuffle that left them all sporting fresh bruises and puffy cheeks, the blue-haired boy finally played mediator. "Alright, let's stop before we kill each other. Name's Deus," he said, extending a hand. "And this idiot with the hat is Ace. We've been stuck on this garbage heap of an island for weeks, building a boat to get off. You're welcome to join if you're not crazy."

The newcomer brushed the sand off his ragged clothes, revealing reddish-brown hair that hung past his ears. He looked up, eyes glinting with something between sarcasm and relief. "Name's Silver. John D. Silver," he said, shaking Deus's hand firmly. "I've been stranded for months. Built a boat, set sail…then a storm hit, and here I am. Guess I should thank you two for waking me up—except for the part where you wanted to eat me."

Ace laughed loudly, slapping his knee. "What kind of dumbass tries to sail these waters on his own? You even know how to sail, Red?"

Silver grinned back, unfazed. "I made it here, didn't I?"

Deus rolled his eyes. "You were half-dead on a beach."

"Minor setback."

Ace snorted. "We've got another moron on the team. Fantastic."

The three exchanged glances, and for a brief moment, despite the bickering and sand-crusted faces, they just laughed , a somewhat weird friendship blosomming among them.

To understand how Silver ended up here, we need to flash back six months ago—to the day his life flipped upside down, thrown headfirst into the wild seas of the Grand Line.

[Flashback Begins]

Six Months Ago

Silver considered himself an ordinary guy. Average college student. Part-time worker. Full-time anime and gaming junkie. His room was a shrine to digital escapism—posters of his favorite One Piece characters plastered on the walls, towers of game cases teetering on his desk, and an army of empty ramen cups lined up like defeated foes.

The night before everything changed, he'd pulled a classic: a 36-hour gaming marathon with a bucket of energy drinks and sheer spite keeping him alive. He lost. Spectacularly. Silver's last memory was screaming at his screen, "I dodged that, you cheating bastard!" before his face smacked into the keyboard, and darkness took him.

When he woke up, it wasn't to the sound of his obnoxious alarm or his roommate microwaving week-old pizza. It was...seagulls. And crashing waves.

Silver raised his cheek off the sand, blinking against the sun that seemed hellbent on frying his retinas. He squinted around, his brain rebooting at dial-up speed.

"...The hell?"

White sand stretched out in every direction. Palm trees swayed like it was a vacation ad, except there were no beach chairs, no drinks with tiny umbrellas—just him, his jeans, and his wrinkled T-shirt.

"Okay...uh...this is definitely not my room," he muttered, patting his pockets like he'd find his bed somewhere in there.

Just when he thought he might've died and been sent to some budget purgatory, a metallic, echoing ding rang in his skull, clear as day.

[Ding! Welcome to the One Piece World host. System Activated! Creating identity for host... Identity created: John D Silver, Orphan, marooned in an unnamed island in Grand Line after a ship wreck where he was stowaway.

Host was born in ]

Silver froze. "What...did I just get DLC for life?!" he asked no one in particular.

" Wait , did you fuckin throw in the one piece world ? Me? A guy who has never even gone to the gym?"

The robotic voice continued, cold and unfeeling.

[System's job is to assist host survive and adapt to this world. System can grant rewards for completing tasks, or host can choose to ignore it.]

"So what else can you do ? Can you show some stats or hints , maybe scan enemies strength?" Silver asked , trying treat this a RPG. There was no other way, he would be having a panic attack otherwise.

[ System can do that, but only after host has survived for more than a month, and completed the starter main quest.]

"Just great. I basically have to finish a Dark Souls level tutorial just get access to the main game." Silver grumbled.

[New Mission: Survive the First Day.]

[Choice 1: Gather food and water. Reward: You get to live. Constitution increased.]

[Choice 2: Scream your lungs out and curse fate. Reward: You die from energy loss.]

[Choice 3: Go back to sleep and hope it's a bad dream. Reward: You get eaten by random carnivores.]

[Choice 4 (first time special): Ignore the system tasks and just stand there. Reward: Big Mom Falls from the sky and smashes you into a meat patty with her gigantic ass. ]

Silver blinked. "What kind of sick and sadistic RPG is this?" He scratched his head, rereading the options. Scream and die. Sleep and get eaten. Survive and...well, survive.

'Let's just ignore the 4th option. I ain't that much of a weeb.' Silver shook his head , as he knew there were some dudes who might like that on Earth.

With a dry laugh, he muttered, "Screw it. I'm not dying of thirst. Let's think about everything else after securing survival." He selected Option One.

The next few weeks were like living in a bootleg survival game with zero skills. Every morning, the system would chime in with its cheerful ding and present him with three options. Upon completion he would gain a slight boost to his skinny body which was looking above average currently.

Most of the tasks sounded like dares from a drunk lunatic in a college party.

[Day 2: Find shelter.]

Choice 1: Build a hut out of leaves and twigs. Reward: Basic Shelter, Basic strength increased.

Choice 2: Sleep in a hollowed-out tree. Reward: Splinters in places you don't want, maybe even infection.

Choice 3: Dig a hole and pray it doesn't rain. Reward: Free mud bath and fever.

Silver, after nearly suffocating in a tree the first night, wisely went with Choice 1.

By the end of the first week, he'd built something resembling a hut if you squinted and tilted your head. It leaked. It leaned. But it stood. Most of the days.

His body was improving slowly and he kept on grinding.

On Day 14, the system threw him a curveball.

[Ding! New Mission: Acquire a companion.]

Choice 1: Tame the wild Coyote you've been hearing at night. Reward: A somewhat loyal, slightly deranged pet.

Choice 2: Fight it barehanded. Reward: A one-way ticket to the afterlife.

Choice 3: Scream at it until it leaves. Reward: Utter humiliation, probably emotional damage.

"Well...I'm not about to get beaten or eaten," Silver grumbled, picking Option One.

The system didn't mention how to tame it. It also didn't mention that the coyote was approximately the size of a damn horse and had fangs sharper than his sarcasm.

Long story short, he spent six hours chasing it with a stick, shouting things like, "I am your master!" and "Submit, you fuckin menace!" Surprisingly, it somewhat worked after a few times. Maybe the coyote felt pity for him.

By the end of it, he had more bruises than dignity, but the Koyote now followed him around. He named it Willy.

With Willy, it was somewhat easier to hunt. Although he was an asshole. He usually ate most of what they hunted. Silver didn't want to provoke it, rather focused on getting stronger first. This world is a place where survival is only ensured by strength. He nedded to be strong enough to withstand whatever is in store for him.

Every day he followed the same routine despite his body begging for mercy. 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, 10 km running. One can only hope this can unlock a certain bald superheroes strength.

The system wasn't all bad. After surviving his first month, it pinged him with something new:

[Ding! Mission: Defeat the King of the Forest!]

Choice 1: Challenge it head-on. Reward: A Devil Fruit.

Choice 2: Sneak attack and kill it in one blow. Reward: A weapon of unknown quality.

Choice 3: Attempt to befriend it. Reward: It eats you.

Silver rubbed his hands together. "Finally, some real power, I can upgrade from npc to atleast side character." he grinned like a madman. He picked Choice 1, because of course he did. He scouted out it's lair to find any weakness or ideas to kill it.

The King of the Forest turned out to be a giant lion with a snake for a tail. It was nearly 4 meters in height. The thing roared with the force of a typhoon once it smelled their presence, and Silver, in all his infinite wisdom, charged it with a pointy stick and pathetic warcry, Willy somewhat reluctantly rushing together with him.

It was a massacre. For both him and Willy. He got thrown, bitten, clawed, and smacked around like a chew toy. They tried to attack in sync to catch it off guard. But it barely worked.

Poor Willy died after a few clashes, The lion swiped him with his tail while snake head bit him. He passed away after a few moments of struggle. Silver struck the lion in one eye while taking advantage. He didn't have the luxury to consider anything else.

The system kept pinging him with advice like:

[Try dodging!]

[Maybe running is an option?]

[Would you like a death counter installed?]

The lion roared and slashed blindly, ripping his shirt and leaving bloody mark. It then jumped and swiped Silver to the ground. Silver coughed out some blood as his body crashed into the ground. It almost looked like everything was over.

[It was good knowing you host. Rest In Peace, Or should I say Ripped in pieces?]

But just when the beast was about to rip him apart, desperation kicked in. Silver lunged forward , pushing himself with his arms and sliding below the lion, and in a act of brutal savagery, bit down—hard. Right on its nutsack. The beast roared in pain, letting out mournful howl.

He ripped out it's family jewels while bloode splattered cringing at his savage act. He almost threw up , but he controlled himself and rolled away from it. Rolling negates damage after all.

The lion howled. The snake tail screamed too, which was even weirder. Both collapsed in tears of agony. Throughout the world, all males shivered and clenched their balls for some reason.

Silver grabbed his makeshift spear and jammed it through its eye with his remaining strength . It was...not graceful, but it somewhat worked.

[Ding! Main starter Task completed. Reward is being issued .... ]

A bluish white mango shaped Devil fruit with spiky exteriors that looked like streaks of lightning. Silver smiled, ignoring the pain. He asked,"what kind of fruit is this?"

[System can't tell as this fruit has no record of ever being consumed. It can only be identified upon consumption.]

"Boy you are pretty useless." Silver turned around and started getting back towards his shelter. He even gave a burial to Willy. Despite eating most of his food, it did fight the Lion with him. Silver could do this much at the very least.

Silver limped back to his hut, the Devil Fruit clutched in his hands like it was the Holy Grail. He stared at its weird, swirling surface and whispered, "Alright... please don't be useless."

He bit down, immediately regretting it. It tasted like expired egg mixed with rotten apples . But he shoved it down and waited for the power to flood in.

Nothing happened for a while. He looked at his hands. "What the hell? Did I just eat an expired fruit?"

A ding sounded:

[Congratulations host! You have consumed the Drip Drip Fruit!]

[Paramecia Type: Allows user to condense moisture, and water vapor from the surrounding air to splash your opponents. It can also form small rain clouds with enough strength, and create small winds gusts by increasing or decreasing moisture temperature, and density in air.

It can also be used on a smaller scale on people to heal any outer skin injuries or scars by absorbing skin moisture and restoring it. Further power can be unlocked upon awakening.]

Silver blinked. "That's it? I can...what, water plants? Make people slightly damp?! Blow the mosquitoes away when they are performing a ballad near my ear? Become a fuckin dermatologist?"

He held out his hand, concentrating with all his might. A large drop of water formed at his fingertip. It splashed to the ground harmlessly. He waved his hand and a gentle breeze blew. He couldn't even tell if it was the fruit or the wave of his arm caused it.

"DAMN SYSTEM! GIVE ME A DAMN REFUND!" Silver yelled out.

[System only issues rewards. Host can trade or sell them if host wants. It wasn't directly advised by the system for host to consume it]

'This mothef.....' Silver could barely contain his rage.

I played along with being randomly isekai'd into a dangerous world as level 1 fodder. I risked my damn life to get this fruit, and it wasn't even a guaranteed hit ! Now you tell me this crap!

"Well," he muttered, kicking a rock. "At least I won't die of dehydration. Maybe I can splash people into surrendering. For now, I can work on manipulating the moisture temperature and density to create storms or something."

At least the system had some mercy. As a "consolation prize" for surviving the King of the Forest, he finally got a Starter Pack:

[Starter pack has been issued. All 3 haki awakened. ]

Observation Haki (Basic)

Armament Haki (Barely There Edition)

Conqueror's Haki (Just the Sparks, Kid)

Silver grinned despite being annoyed. Weak fruit or not, things were about to get interesting. Specially when his fruit was somewhat resistant to the weakness of the sea.

One morning, when silver tried to catch a big fish, it dragged him into the water. Silver immediately let go, fearing he might lose strength and get dragged by it. But once he stood there, he didn't notice any difference.

He then walked into deeper waters, and gradually was waist deep. Only then he noticed a slight tired feeling. To test further, he tried to swim. That's when the tiredness started increasing gradually after a while.

Silver immediately returned to shore after that. He then tested more , finding the limits. He was almost 80% resistant roughly to the curse of the sea. And with haki added , it looked like he still had a bit of good luck left.

Just with the awakening of all 3 haki, he could be counted as better than random mobs. He can beat the weak pirates in the four seas, even fight against some on the grand line. He can maybe be equal to a 50 million Bounty pirate, despite his lack of experience fighting.

The next few months, Silver spent training harshly, developing his budding haki powers and devil fruit till his body gave out.

The devil fruit was pitifully weak, and it cost him a lot of stamina just to use it for some reason. He could barely condense the moisture and release the heat, forming colliding ice particles.

But just as he was about to finish forming it, he would pass out from exhaustion. He kept trying until he could form modest wind gusts and a rain cloud big enough to water about an acre of land. But it wasn't really useful.

He used the training methods of Rayleigh teaching Luffy haki, and the several info he knew about developing devil fruit powers from the anime. But the progress was painfully slow.

Silver kept on training despite the low return, and eventually, there were some developments after 6 months . He could cover his arm in armament haki for a few minutes. His observation haki range expanded to almost 500 meters.

His Conqueror haki was stuck at the same level. It was mostly used to knock out some wild animals, but there was no visible progress.

Atleast until the day he decided it was time to leave the island after 6 months of spending time here.

Silver looked at the makeshift boat he built from scratch and nodded, "This should atleast get me to the next island. I'm not sure where I am exactly, let's hope it's not the new world. I'd be dead in a week if I'm there."

Then he paused and thought to himself as he remembered the hellish experience of the past 6 months. He almost died several times in the first month alone, which somewhat made him numb. He was a different person from the one back in Earth. He could finally live for once.

"What do I really want from this new life?" Silver questioned himself.

"This world is far from ordinary, where strength decides everything. I just want to explore this vast world, and experience all that it has to offer. Go on an adventure, enjoy the journey, and be truly free. I want to finally live for myself, and be happy."

Then the answer came to him. Silver grinned as he spoke out loud, " If being free requires strength, then I'll just have to become the world's strongest man! Then i can sail these seas and live freely without any fear.

That will be my path. I'll stand at the top of this world, and defeat anyone who stands in my way. I will be most free person and live this life however I want."

Just as he declared this, A sharp cracking noise filled the air as a burst of red lighting and forceful aura was released from Silver. The surrounding atmosphere cracked with pressure and lighting was crackling and sending waves of power.

The beasts in the forest, the birds in the sky, and the creatures in the sea all fainted within half a mile radius from the sheer pressure of Silver's conqueror's haki. Yet this was not his limit.

Silver stopped holding back let his haki loose, and and it burst forth even stronger as the whole island was shaking like crazy. deep cracks were forming around him and the trees around were pushed away , uprooted from the ground.

Silver let out a manic laugh as he felt the strength bursting from within him. Eventually his haki died down and he fell weakly to the ground. Lying down , he asked weakly," Show me my status system."

"Fuck You, you piece of shit. Those are all stupid choices. I won't do any of them. I just want to be free and travel the world. I'll follow my own damn path." Silver just decided to ignore this useless system as he pushed himself up to his feet and walked towards the flimsy boat he made himself.

And that's how John D. Silver, the man who bit a lion's balls and lived to tell the tale, began his ridiculous journey in the world of One Piece.
