Chapter 31: Cassian's Return
**Arin's POV**
The silver light pouring from my hands broke every window in the library at once.
Glass exploded everywhere as fifty snarling wolves crashed through the broken frames.
But these weren't regular rogues.
They moved like trained soldiers, making a perfect circle around us with military precision.
"Well, well," a deep voice said from the doorway. "Look what we have here."
My blood turned to ice. Standing in the entrance was a man I'd hoped never to see again—Cassian, Alpha Vaughn's old war advisor. The man who'd tried to kill me months ago. The man who was supposed to be dead.
"Surprised to see me, little omega?" Cassian smiled, showing teeth that were too sharp. Half his face was covered in burn scars, and his left arm hung at an odd angle. "You didn't finish the job last time."
"You're supposed to be dead," Kael growled, stepping protectively in front of me.
