Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Jotaro’s Guidance

Jotaro's strength caused Tanjiro to fall into deep thought. He had a feeling, every time Jotaro went out hunting, whether it was his power or technique, both were completely different from the last time. His killing efficiency was higher each time.

He shook his head and carried two rabbits as he walked back.

Jotaro glanced over the rabbits and said calmly, "Let's go deeper into the forest."

From his perspective, the meat from these two rabbits wasn't even enough to fill the gap between the teeth. After all, the Kamado family had seven mouths to feed, they needed to hunt more animals.

Nezuko rubbed her tear-blurred eyes. Looking at the rabbits in Tanjiro's hands, she found it a bit unbelievable. So Jotaro-san hadn't lied to her. He really had hunted two rabbits in an instant.

The young girl was already thirteen years old, the age when girls begin to fall in love. The excellent Jotaro had undoubtedly become someone she admired in her heart.

Who would have thought that just half a month ago, when she saw an injured rabbit, she would still feel heartache...

The two of them followed behind Jotaro, walking together into the depths of the forest. The deeper they went, the darker the light became.

Nezuko unconsciously moved closer to Jotaro's side. With both hands in his pockets, Jotaro suddenly stopped. Nezuko, caught off guard, bumped into Jotaro's solid back.

"Looks like we're in luck today. Didn't expect to run into a herd of deer." Jotaro's lips curled into a faint smile.

Nezuko touched her forehead and turned her body slightly to see several sika deer running together on a hillside.

Tanjiro said joyfully, "Great! Just one of those deer is enough food for our family for several days."

"Jotaro-san! Let's just hunt one."

"No..." Jotaro turned to look at Tanjiro and said seriously, "None of them will get away. But the one who will hunt them is not me, it's you, Tanjiro!"

"Me?" Tanjiro pointed to himself, a bit caught off guard.

Although he had hunted some rabbits and other wild game before, he had never hunted a sika deer, an animal with extremely high alertness.

Jotaro said, "Tanjiro, as the eldest son of the family, you must take on this responsibility."

"One day, I will leave you. At that time, you will need to hunt food for your younger siblings yourself."

Tanjiro was gentle and honest, but he also had a stubborn side, he would never owe others money or favors. However, during his time with Jotaro, he had unknowingly begun to rely on him a little.

Jotaro's words awakened him.

'That's right! Jotaro-san will leave one day. I must grow on my own. Only then can I protect my family!'

In an instant, Tanjiro's eyes became determined. He said, "Jotaro-san, thank you. I understand now."

But just a moment later, he felt a bit awkward and scratched his head.

"But when I came out, I didn't bring any hunting tools."

To hunt using the same methods as Jotaro, that was impossible.

Jotaro pointed at the small axe tied to Tanjiro's waist and said, "The firewood axe is enough. Hunting isn't an activity that requires full preparation before you can do it. Likewise, we don't need to be fully prepared before facing danger."

Tanjiro nodded, took the axe from his waist, walked to Jotaro's side, held his breath and focused, staring intently at the sika deer on the hillside.

Suddenly, the axe slipped from his hand, spun rapidly through the air, and flew toward a deer with its back to him.

Unfortunately, the fierce attack didn't hit the deer but struck a nearby tree instead.

"So close, just a little off." Tanjiro felt a little frustrated.

"Not bad." Jotaro acknowledged him, then pointed out his mistake.

"But I still want to give you a piece of advice. Before hunting, we should think not about speed but about accuracy."

"If you can't hit your target within your effective range, the prey will just run farther away. Unless you're confident you'll hit the target, never make a move easily. Otherwise, this is what happens."

The axe flying through the air immediately put the herd of sika deer on alert. Sensing danger, they scattered in all directions in an instant.

At that moment, several wooden spikes shot from Jotaro's hands. Several sika deer cried out in pain simultaneously, then collapsed on the ground, completely losing all signs of life.

Ignoring Tanjiro's stunned expression, Jotaro asked, "Did you remember what I said?"

Tanjiro came back to his senses and nodded instinctively. Once again, Jotaro's strength shattered his understanding.

"This meat should be enough. Let's clean up the deer and hurry back."

Leaving these words behind, Jotaro walked alone toward the prey. If they didn't leave quickly, the scent of blood might attract other wild beasts.

Seeing this, Tanjiro quickly followed to help. Only Nezuko was left standing dazed in place. From the moment she heard that Jotaro would leave, she had been in that state.

After quickly cleaning up the deer, Jotaro stood up and said calmly, "Let's go. We're heading back."

But just then, Nezuko suddenly let out a sharp scream. Tanjiro turned his head quickly at the sound, only to see a large, fierce-looking gray bear standing behind Nezuko.

It had its bloody mouth wide open, showing sharp fangs, breathing heavily.

Today the weather had warmed up, and this hibernating bear had just woken up, ready to take the opportunity to search for more food. The scent of blood in the air had led it here.

"Nezuko!" The bear was extremely close to Nezuko, Tanjiro couldn't help but panic.

"Brother!"

Startled too much, Nezuko began to cry uncontrollably. She was extremely frightened. Just as she was about to turn and run, Jotaro's serious voice entered her ears.

"Don't turn around! Don't expose your back to a wild animal!"

Nezuko froze. Jotaro's voice seemed to give her courage. She really stopped moving and slowly turned her body back.

"Don't be afraid. Don't look it in the eye. Back away slowly."

Nezuko's brain wasn't even thinking. She just did what Jotaro said. Without a doubt, she trusted Jotaro.

"That's it, keep backing away."

Jotaro's low voice spoke again, and at the same time, he also slowly moved closer to Nezuko.

The bear's round eyes kept examining Nezuko, trying to judge whether she was a threat.

Wild beasts are very perceptive. Even though Nezuko's actions didn't reveal weakness, it could still sense fear from her.

In an instant, the bear extended its sharp claws and lunged forward.

Nezuko saw this and shut her eyes in fear. Her nose was filled with the bloody smell from the bear's mouth. She thought she was going to die...

"Ora!"

At that moment, Star Platinum's solid punch slammed into the bear's face.

If you slowed it down, you would see the bear's face violently deform, and its teeth shooting out of its mouth, while its drool splattered through the air.

With just one punch, the 3-meter-tall, 500-kilogram bear flew dozens of meters away.

And this was still Jotaro not even going all out.
