Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: The Invitation That Never Ends

The curse had evolved beyond screens, beyond time.

It no longer waited for midnight.

It no longer asked for permission.

The invitation was now eternal—woven into signals, embedded in data, hiding inside every livestream link, every short video, every forwarded message.

Across Malaysia, unexplained disappearances surged.

People who had never even heard of Lin Ze's name began vanishing.

All of them had one thing in common—

A final message received before they disappeared:

"You've been invited."

In a cybercafe in Petaling Jaya, student Nur Alia sat scrolling on her friend's TikTok.

She clicked on a trending horror video. The caption read:

"This was taken from a cursed stream. Watch if you dare."

The video started with static. Then darkness. Then the chair.

Alia chuckled nervously. "You guys believe this stuff?"

Her friend whispered, "You shouldn't click—"

Too late.

The video glitched mid-play.

Suddenly, Alia's phone went black.

Then lit up with a red screen:

[You've accepted the invitation. Location confirmed. Preparing stream...]

Back at her dorm, the air turned cold.

The lights flickered.

The scent of jasmine crept in.

Alia screamed and threw the phone to the floor.

But it didn't stop.

The screen kept glowing.

A pale woman's face pressed up against the glass from the inside—smiling.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

It came from her closet.

Her phone vibrated violently as the livestream activated:

"Tonight's host: Nur Alia. Viewer count: 87,900 and rising."

Across the world, people watched as Alia backed into a corner, crying, whispering prayers.

The woman in white stepped into frame behind her.

And the viewers?

They watched.

Some horrified.

Some amused.

And some… took screenshots.

Because the curse no longer needed fear.

It needed attention.

That night, Alia became a permanent part of the stream.

And her face—twisted in silent terror—became the thumbnail for the next cursed video making rounds online.

Viewers kept watching.

The algorithm kept feeding.

The invitation… never stopped.
