Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Viral Death Challenge

It started as a joke.

A simple TikTok trend.

But like everything connected to the curse, it spiraled out of control faster than anyone expected.

They called it the Viral Death Challenge.

Rules were simple:

Watch the "Last Bullet Comment" stream alone at night.

Complete the dare shown at the end of the stream.

Record yourself doing it.

Post the video before midnight.

If you failed…

Well, the consequences weren't really part of the joke.

Until people started disappearing—for real.

At first, it was harmless.

Stupid dares like spending three minutes alone in a dark bathroom with a mirror.

Or writing your name on a white paper with red ink and burning it at midnight.

But the dares escalated.

Each time, more terrifying, more dangerous.

And then the Final Dare appeared in the stream.

"Invite another… or she will visit you tonight."

College student Kai Wen thought it was just another urban legend.

He'd seen the challenge trending everywhere—TikTok, Instagram, even YouTube Shorts.

Curiosity got the better of him.

He clicked on a shared livestream link titled:

"Final Bullet Comment—Do You Dare?"

The screen flickered.

Blackness.

Then, the familiar creaking sound of the old rattan chair.

On-screen, a new message appeared:

[Your dare: Invite three people to watch before midnight. Or she will come.]

The scent of jasmine began to fill Kai Wen's small dorm room.

His phone vibrated violently.

A countdown appeared.

00:59:59…

One hour left.

And below the countdown:

[You have invited: 0 people.]

He laughed nervously. "Just a prank, right?"

But no matter how many times he tried to close the app, the screen remained stuck on the countdown.

The knocking started at his door.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Desperate, he began sending the link to his contacts.

One… two… three…

The counter didn't move.

[You have invited: 0 people.]

His phone speaker crackled.

The woman's voice whispered through the static:

"They must watch. Only then will you be free."

In panic, Kai Wen started calling his friends, begging them to open the link and watch the stream.

The clock ticked down.

00:00:30…

Finally, the counter updated:

[You have invited: 2 people.]

But it wasn't enough.

00:00:05…

The scent of jasmine overwhelmed him.

The knocking turned into pounding.

00:00:01…

The screen displayed one final message:

[Failure. She is here.]

That night, Kai Wen vanished.

His dorm room door was found ajar.

A single jasmine flower lay on his pillow, his phone still recording.

And so, the Viral Death Challenge continued

Spreading.

Evolving.

Because fear wasn't the only thing that spread like a virus—

Curiosity did too.
