The flickering red and blue intertwined lights shimmered in the darkness of the night, the urgent blare of sirens tearing through the silence. The law enforcers — "Judgement Blades" of the "Magic Adjudication Bureau", looked cautiously at Su Yuchen standing in front of the vending machine.

A pretty girl found in the alley, the suddenly exposed blood-red glow, and a young wanderer just ten meters away from the crime scene at this moment.

The suspicion is strong!

Confronted by their imposing presence, Su Yuchen calmly began, "I…"

Bang!

A whistling bullet grazed past, shattering the glass behind the vending machine. The lead figure, a grim-faced dog eared man in uniform, glared at Su Yuchen. "Shut up. Save your words for later!"

"Deputy Captain, he might not be the suspect."

"Picking on pretty girls at night, especially these guys from the Eastern Mainland, they are nothing but beasts in human clothing…" The deputy captain, Shuck, grinned maliciously, his bully-like face appearing ferocious. "Clearly turned into a blood servant, unable to control his craving for blood, just trash committing these crimes."

Advancing toward Su Yuchen, he sneered, "Kid, meeting me is your misfortune!"

Recent unregistered vampire incidents resulted in extended work hours, building up frustration that needed an outlet.

Su Yuchen chose not to speak further. In the face of these law enforcers with their discriminatory attitude, especially this deputy captain who appeared to be a hybrid, any words would be futile. After all, these hybrid races were neither accepted by humans nor other species, residing at the lowest rung of the city's hierarchy. Most of them harbored some degree of abnormality due to their societal treatment, often venting their past grievances once in positions of power.

As for ignoring them and leaving… it will only escalate suspicion and lead to a series of subsequent troubles. He had come to attend university, not to engage in brawls.

"Kid, I've dealt with plenty of criminals like you. You're neither the first nor the last. Come with me!" Shuck grabbed Su Yuchen's shoulder, forcibly leading him to the police car and handcuffing him. "It's your misfortune to be caught by me. You'll realize the cost of breaking laws in this city once we're back…"

Screech!!!

The urgent sound of tires scraping against the ground made Shuck instinctively raise his head.

Nighttime was when large trucks traversed the roads. However, at this moment, a fully loaded truck was charging straight at them!

"…Damn it!"

A slight distortion in his voice.

Su Yuchen calmly faced the oncoming truck. This is why he walked home instead of taking the bus. His misfortune doesn't just affect him alone. Once others intervene, it has a tendency to drag them along.

Glancing at Shuck, it wasn't 'meeting me is your misfortune,' but rather 'meeting you is my misfortune.'

"Woof!"

With a roar from Shuck, sound waves condensed into a spell outside the police car window, spreading ripples from small to large, encompassing the truck hurtling toward the passenger side.

Clank, bang, clank…

Amidst the twisted metal sounds, the front of the large truck was directly shattered into fragments by the sound waves. Simultaneously, the driver was thrown out, and the huge cargo compartment disintegrated, scattering its load all over the road.

The accident didn't result in fatalities; the truck driver only suffered minor scrapes.

Magic formed through linguistic medium—Word Spirit Magic.

Shuck's face turned incredibly grim. What an unbelievably unlucky day!

A vampire attack happened in his jurisdiction, and now he nearly got minced by a truck.

Thankfully, he still had some power.

"Damn it!"

Cursing under his breath, he grabbed the walkie-talkie to inform the traffic department, "There's been an accident on the North Ring Bridge. Truck driver's lightly injured. Get over here and handle it… Still asleep?! Hurry the hell up!"

With a forceful toss, he slammed the walkie-talkie onto the handbrake position and shouted out the window, "Get the victim to the hospital, see if you can get any information out of them, then continue the patrol!"

With that said, he hit the gas pedal and roared away.

Several members of the Magic Adjudication Bureau exchanged glances. They could only follow orders, after all, Shuck was the deputy captain, even though he was a hybrid.

High above in a tall building, Kristia, with flowing blonde hair, watched the departing members of the Magic Adjudication Bureau and snorted, "Damn virgin, suffer a bit for me, will you?"

She wasn't worried that Su Yuchen would expose her. If he intended to, he would have already uploaded her picture to the police database.

As for making him face some trouble within the 'Magic Adjudication Bureau'… that was wishful thinking. With that kind of strength, how could he lack any connections?

"So full."

Kristia patted her stomach. Blood-red eyes flickered with a hint of greed. Though she had only tasted a bit of Su Yuchen's blood, it had been a long time since she felt this satiated.

She didn't know why his blood had this unusual effect, but…

"You rascal, I'll find you again, sooner or later."

…

Sky University, graduate students' female dormitory.

By the time Kristia returned, her blood-red eyes had turned golden, and she wore a pair of red-framed glasses on her nose, concealing her irresistible allure.

Pushing open the door to her dorm room, she immediately spotted her roommate, Phyllis, leaning on her bed, playing with her phone, while sipping blood from a blood bag through a straw.

Her roommate was a vampire, a member of the upper-class Xia Clan of vampires, but she wasn't aware that Kristia herself was also a vampire.

"Tia, you're back~" Phyllis' eyes lit up as she looked at Kristia's golden eyes with some fervor. "Where did you go?"

"Researching my thesis." Kristia took off her coat and hung it up. "How many bags of blood are you drinking a day now?"

"Seven bags, but it's not nearly enough. Also, the Mid-Autumn Festival is coming." Phyllis sighed. "And the blood provided by the university isn't that great in quality."

"It's already good that a university established by humans is providing blood for you."

"Tia, can't you give me some? Your blood must be delicious. I really want you to become my blood servant." Phyllis licked her lips, longing to drink Tia's blood for a long time, but… she couldn't quite overpower her.

Humans nowadays are getting more powerful with each generation.

"I'm standing right here, dare to try?" Kristia crossed her arms, provocatively raising her chin.

"I…" Phyllis sighed again, not daring to, because once a vampire studying at Sky University tasted human blood for whatever reason, they'd be forcibly expelled from the Sky City.

Frustrated, she fiercely bit down on the straw, forcefully drawing blood from the bag.

"I have some insider information." Phyllis aimed her phone screen at Kristia. "It seems they've caught the unregistered vampire responsible for recent incidents."

"Is that so?" Kristia's lips curled into a smile. "Did your friend from the 'Magic Adjudication Bureau' tell you?"

"Yeah…" Phyllis looked back at her phone. "Hmm? She replied… seems like they've caught the wrong person. They caught a freshman from our university…"

"A freshman?" Kristia's eyes sparkled. "Which department? What's the name?"

"Same as us, Magic Engineering Department. His name is Su Yuchen."

Kristia sat down on her bed and ran her tongue over her lips.

"So, it's a junior brother."
