Chen Lee soon appeared above the outermost planet. Just as he was about to look at it, a sudden huge body almost hit him. He quickly dodged it, thanks to his quick reflexes.
"Wow, what was that just now?"
"Host, it seems to be the body of some kind of dead creature."
He was immediately excited to hear that. So he quickly looked at the body and saw it had a big hole and three horns on its head.
"It seems this star system has life. I'm really lucky."
"But Host, be careful. It's better to buy a disguise skill first to get information from this new civilization."
"You're right. I need to be careful. Let's see how much dark energy I have."
"Host, you have 700 million dark energy. The disguise skill costs 100 million. Do you wish to redeem it?"
"Yes. Also, convert the remaining energy into combat power."
"Yes, Host. 100 million energy has been deducted for the skill. The remaining 600 million has been converted. You now have 1.25 million combat power."
"Okay, now let's find the living planet and sneak in."
Immediately after saying that, he looked at the nearest planet but found nothing. Then he went to the next, still nothing. This disappointment continued until he reached the fourth planet from the star, which was in the habitable zone of the star system. He found some medieval-era infrastructures and some dinosaur-era creatures on the surface of the planet, visible through his sharp vision from space. Moreover, the planet had only one large continent.
Since he found signs of life, he decided to sneak in quickly before being spotted by the powerful natives.
He immediately activated his teleportation skill and appeared in an open field near a road.
He felt the cool wind, enjoying its sensation even though his body was now 250,000 times stronger than a normal human. That didn't stop him from enjoying regular life.
Suddenly, he heard the sound of a moving wooden carriage on the road. He looked at it from at least 10 km away and realized the creatures riding in it were elves—who appeared to be the dominant race on this massive planet, which was 20 times bigger than his previous planet, Earth.
As the carriage approached at a speed of 500 km/h, he quickly disguised himself as a handsome male elf.
Soon, the elves in the carriage reached him as he walked along the road.
Just as the carriage was passing, Chen Lee activated his super hearing ability to understand the language they were speaking.
The carriage passed him without paying attention, but he quietly followed from a distance, listening to their slow conversation.
As he listened more, his enhanced brain quickly started learning their language.
Soon, he saw more elves on the road and listened to even more voices, allowing him to decipher the basics of the language.
After half an hour of travel, he saw the carriage and other elves heading toward a large nearby city called Hazeland. He quietly followed them until he was 10 km outside the city. He didn't enter immediately, fearing identity verification at the gate.
He quickly planned: "It seems I have to disguise myself as a tree beside the road for a few days to listen to travelers and master the language. Or I could capture an elf, but that's risky and I don't want to harm an innocent."
"Host, your plan of waiting outside is good, but it might be better to disguise yourself as someone and enter."
Soon, he came beside the road and used his skill to become a small tree.
As travelers passed, he picked up more new words and information. By sunset, he freed himself from the disguise and prepared to sneak in during the dark.
He disguised himself as a small bird and flew toward the city's huge walls. Just as he thought he might cross over, he saw an invisible barrier above the walls, surrounding the city like a dome. He immediately stopped and started circling the city, but couldn't find an entrance except for four gates: east, west, north, and south.
"It seems they have an invisible barrier around the city, only visible if you're within one meter of it. Moreover, I need to be extra careful. This barrier is clearly magical. I don't know what kind of techniques they've got."
"Yes, Host. You need to be careful. I still think it's better to disguise yourself as someone."
"Okay, then let's wait a few more days."
He began disguising himself as a tree again, watching the elf guards from a distance with his sharp vision.
"It seems elves don't have super vision or hearing, but they do have magical methods, as far as I can tell."
With that, he pretended to be a tree. Standing still for days was no problem with his super strength.
Night passed, and morning began with the sunrise. As the sun rose higher, travelers began appearing again. Chen Lee patiently listened. Soon, he saw two male elves leaving the city whom he had seen entering the day before. He kept watching them from his hidden position. Though disguised as a tree near a small forest to avoid suspicion, his vision allowed him to see them clearly.
While watching them head into the forest, he also listened to voices from the city with only 50km radius using his super hearing. Soon, he saw one elf attack the other from behind, killing him instantly. Then, the killer suspiciously dug a hole near a tree, retrieved a jade pendant, pocketed it, and returned toward the city gate.
When he reached the gate, one of the guards asked him,
"Hey Ash, where's your partner Shahjahan?"
"Oh, he had some business and went to a nearby town for a few months."
Saying that, he silently entered the city.
Chen Lee had seen it all. With his super hearing, he had already mastered the native language. As sound had its limits so he couldn't hear across space or beyond 500 km but within 500 km radius range, he could hear anything.
He immediately went to the dead elf, looked at his face, and disguised himself as Shahjahan. Then, he went to the gate to enter the city.
