Chapter 8 - Price Tag On A Womb

"Yeah, Fiona has collected a lot of information about you. She buys all the magazines you're in, cuts your photos out, and pastes them in her notebook. She's actually from the business department, but she transferred to the room management department when she heard that you're coming. She's not a professional room manager, so please forgive her if she makes any mistake," Sally said softly.

Samson continued to focus his gaze on his computer screen and work. He was cold and expressionless. Sally did not know what was on his mind. She reminded him, "If you think that Fiona doesn't make a suitable room manager, you can ask our manager for a specific appointment."

"Okay," Samson responded.

Sally happily went to make Samson his cup of coffee. Fiona didn't have much left to do.

She got off work early and went to the market to get some chicken wings, pork knuckles, tomatoes, and tofu. She intended to make some of her baby girl Skylar's favorite dishes.

As soon as she opened the door, she heard Skylar's childish voice. Skylar was talking to her nanny.

"Can you tell me why my mum is so worrisome? I can't even feel at ease when I'm at the kindergarten.

"How am I worrisome, Sky?" Fiona asked.

She turned to look at Fiona and her face looked just like the same with the baby version of Fiona. She grumbled, "You made me too beautiful, and a lot of boys are chasing after me. I don't like kids. They're too annoying." Fiona was amused.

"I guess that's my fault."

"You're at fault for not getting a new and better husband. I've no choice but to find you one myself." Skylar was mature for her age.

"Wow, then I need to thank you for your hard work."

"What else can I do? You spend all day working. I obviously can't rely on you to find me a new father. I'd better do it by myself."

Skylar turned on the TV. Samson's photo was on the news headline. Skylar pointed at the photo.

"Mum, |like this person. He might be my lover from a past life."

Fiona glanced at the TV and saw Samson's face.

"He has only one thing in common with your lover from a past life: his gender." Fiona Skylar's fantasies and headed to the kitchen.

An hour later, someone knocked on the door.

Fiona came out of the kitchen and saw that Jagger's mother was here. She greeted her.

"Mum, you are here. Since it's time for dinner, let's have dinner together.'

Britney Hamilton glanced at Fiona in disdain.

"Is what you cook even edible?"

"My cooking is fine. I'm still healthy and alive." Fiona said with a smile.

Britney got very angry when she saw Fiona's flat belly.

"What's the use of being healthy? You and Jagger have been married for five years, and you have only given birth to a loser. Our family business is extremely successful, and we need a male heir. You show no signs of pregnancy at all. How can you be considered healthy?"

Fiona pursed her lips and did not speak.

Britney rolled her eyes at her and ordered, "Quit the job at the hotel. It's so shameful. If you can't give birth to a son, you'd better get out of here." Skylar tossed the remote aside and looked at Britney.

"Grandma, are all girls losers?"

"Of course," Britney said without thinking.

"Then, grandma is also a loser," Skylar refuted rudely.

Britney was furious. She pointed at Fiona and scolded, "What have you been teaching your daughter?"

"My mum has never taught me that girls are losers. Wasn't that what you said, grandma?" Skylar retorted. Britney became even angrier.

"If Jasper didn't lie to me that you were pregnant with a son, 1 wouldn't have agreed to the marriage. Who the hell do you think you are? Look at yourself. Just like the saying, you can't put lipstick on a pig indeed!"

"Oh, so grandma is a pig?"

Britney was about to slap Skylar across the face, but Fiona grabbed her hand.

"Mum, children say what they like. Why argue with a child?"

"You've been spoiling her too much. If you can't give birth to a son, don't even think about getting a single cent from Jagger." Britney left angrily.

"Mum, don't be afraid. I'll bully whoever bullies you," Skylar said, patting her chest. When Fiona saw how Skylar was acting like a little grow-up, she smiled. All girls are their mothers' protectors.

After dinner, Fiona accompanied Skylar until the latter fell asleep.

Her cell phone rang, and she immediately silenced it. She only answered the call after going out of Skylar's room.

"Where are you?" Jagger was a little drunk.

"Home."

"Come to room 308 of Ophelia Entertainment Corp. Now."

"No." Fiona refused right away.

She didn't want to be part of Jagger's messy social circle.

"I have something important to tell you. You must come. It's about my mother wanting a grandson."

Fiona also wanted to solve this issue so that Britney would stop annoying her all the time. It was bad for Skylar's growth.

She took a look at her watch and saw that it was only 8:10 p.m.

"I'll be there in a while."

In addition to Jagger, there was a man, who Fiona didn't know, in the room. He had exquisite facial features, and he was almost as good looking as James Baker. He was wearing a white shirt and a pair of black trousers.

Jagger put a glass of wine in front of Fiona.

"Drink this."

Fiona could tell that Jagger was drunk. She said rationally, "We're about to discuss something important. I don't think it's appropriate for me to drink."

Jagger burped and pointed at the man sitting opposite them.

"His, his name is Michael Anderson, and he is a model. He studied in the United States. He's good-looking, knowledgeable and good in bed. Most importantly, he's bisexual. From now onward, we'll be having an open relationship until you manage to get pregnant with a son."

Fiona rolled her eyes, and for some reason, there was a surge of anger in her heart.

"I don't care about all the disgusting stuff you do outside. After all, I'm only your nominal wife, and we both lead our own lives. But I have my own values, so you better stop trying to involve me in the dirty stuff you're doing." Fiona stood up. Jagger grabbed Fiona's hand.

"I spent 400,000 USD for you to give birth to a daughter. As long as you give birth to a son, I'll give you 4 million USD and a house."

Fiona sneered. At that time, she had no choice but to get married to him to save her grandmother.

She didn't care about his money at all.

"I'll raise 400,000 USD and return the money to you as soon as possible. It's easier for you to find another woman with a son in her womb to get married to." Fiona shoved his hand away. Jagger staggered to his feet.

"It was 400,000 USD five years ago, and the same amount of money is worth at least a million USD now.

Think about it. Do you know how many women want to be the Dawn family's young Mistress?

"Go and find those women, then," Fiona said nonchalantly and walked towards the door.

Jagger grabbed Fiona's arm with force and warned her angrily.

"Fiona, don't ruin my day. You have no choice but to do it today!"

"Go to hell. I don't know whether your brain is rotten, or you're just plain stupid. Get the f*ck away from me!" Fiona said furiously.

As she was unable to break free, she lowered her head and bit Jagger's arm.
