Chapter 27 - Chapter 26 – Can't Stop

The Herrscher of the Void stood amid the ruins with an expression cold as eternal ice. Her gaze was empty, as if the shattered world around her were merely an ordinary sight.

The destruction that spread like a plague—collapsed buildings, skies stained with fire, and desperate screams echoing in the distance—all of it sounded like a beautiful melody to her ears.

Her white robe billowed in the wind, untainted by the blood and dust that soiled everything else. Amidst this chaos, she appeared like an elegant goddess of death—terrifying yet mesmerizing.

"W-why... Why did you do this?..."

That hoarse voice came from a Hunter lying mortally wounded. His body lay on the ground with gaping wounds. Blood flowed from fatal injuries across his body, forming a pool of deep red. His hand trembled as he tried to reach for something beyond his grasp. He was the man who had been the liaison with the Rebirn Kingdom, now lying at death's door.

The Herrscher of the Void turned, looking at the dying human with a gaze colder than the poles. Her thin lips formed a mocking smile full of arrogance.

"𝐀 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧," her voice echoed as if from another dimension—beautiful yet piercing to the bone marrow. "𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰, 𝐝𝐢𝐞."

She raised her hand with an elegant gesture. Purple light gathered in the air, forming floating Subspace lances—ready to tear the Hunter's body apart. The air around felt heavy, as if gravity had become many times stronger.

"Wow, for someone who was once human, you're quite cruel, aren't you~"

That cheerful voice broke the suffocating atmosphere of death. The Herrscher of the Void wasn't surprised. Her pale lips merely curved into a cold smile, without turning toward the voice.

"𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞, 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬."

The ground trembled as if the world itself was frightened. From behind thick black clouds emerged a gigantic silhouette. Benares, the Honkai Beast in dragon form, shot down from the sky with speed difficult for the eye to track. Its scales gleamed like obsidian, and its eyes glowed blood red.

ROAAARRR...!!!

The dragon's roar shook the air, shattering the remaining glass in surrounding buildings. Benares exhaled breath mixed with Honkai energy, making the air shimmer purple-blue.

BOOOOMMM...!!!

A tremendous explosion rocked the entire area when Benares' attack collided with a mysterious blue light. The shock wave swept in all directions, creating a massive crater and destroying small Honkai Beasts roaming around as if they were mere dust.

The Herrscher of the Void slightly furrowed her brow—a rare sign of displeasure. The dying Hunter she was about to kill had vanished.

"𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞," she said with a gaze that could freeze blood. Her voice remained calm, but a deadly aura emanated from her body like poisonous mist.

"Hahaha!! Strong! That dragon's attack was enough to make my stiff body feel refreshed again!"

That voice full of joy came from a mature woman with inhuman beauty. Her purple hair shimmered under the dim sunlight, moving as if it had a life of its own. Most striking were the pair of horns protruding from her head, elegantly curved, and the scaled tail moving behind her.

The Herrscher of the Void looked at the woman, assessing from head to toe.

"𝐒𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬? 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜."

"You wound me," the woman replied with a smile that didn't reach her eyes. Then, in an instant, the atmosphere around her changed. The air trembled with insane pressure. Her pupils transformed into vertical slits like a dragon's, shining with a terrifying light. "...but you know..." Her voice changed, echoing with power far older than human civilization. "...I still have human blood and am a Rank SSS Hunter."

The Herrscher of the Void felt a sudden change in gravitational pressure. As if an entire mountain suddenly weighed upon her body. Yet she calmly activated the Authority of the Void, nullifying the gravitational effect with ease.

However, her sharp intuition gave warning. She looked up toward the sky and saw a sight she had never witnessed before.

The sky had changed.

Intricate and mysterious ancient patterns were engraved in the firmament—symbols in a language too old to remember. Not just ordinary engravings, but appearing like dimensional layers overlapping the normal dimension. Silver-blue light radiated from each line, making the entire sky look like a giant magical dome.

Coinciding with this, dozens of large magic circles appeared on the ground, surrounding the Herrscher of the Void. From each circle, she could sense the presence of energy just as powerful as the horned woman—the energy of other Rank SSS Hunters! They had prepared a trap, and she had just walked into it.

Recognizing this situation, the Herrscher of the Void remained calm. There was no panic on her face, only boredom mixed with slight interest. She issued a command in a calm voice:

"𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬."

However, for the first time since they were born together, Benares did not move to follow her command. The dragon remained in place, as if fixed by an invisible force.

No. Not as if. Benares truly could not move!

ROAAARRR...!!

The dragon's frustrated roar split the air. Its red eyes showed confusion and anger. The Herrscher of the Void realized that something very powerful had bound Benares.

But that realization came too late—

"Did you think we would let you?"

From the corner of her eye, she saw a shadow moving with almost impossible speed. A young man in a black robe shot toward her, a giant scythe of pitch black raised high above his head. The young man's gaze was cold as ice, yet filled with burning determination.

BOOOOOM...!!

The black scythe was slashed down, creating a wave of dark energy that cut through everything in its path. The ground split, the air shattered, and space itself seemed torn like worn fabric. In the path taken by the slash, all life was completely drained, leaving a trace of absolute darkness that absorbed light.

Of course, no attack, no matter how powerful, could easily harm the Herrscher of the Void. Her passive shield, a manifestation of her absolute control over space, absorbed the attack. But her expression turned gloomy, slightly annoyed by this interruption.

"𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮–"

Her sentence was cut off as dozens of Subspace-lances appeared from small portals around her, all aimed at the scythe-wielding young man. Those energy spears moved with speed that ordinary eyes couldn't follow, ready to tear the Hunter apart.

However—

From a completely unexpected direction, a flash of light came. The Herrscher of the Void's eyes widened slightly, feeling a real threat of death for the first time.

A sword slash so fast it appeared like a spark of light sped toward her. No sound, no warning—only her instinct telling her that this attack was different from the previous ones.

Without hesitation, she activated her strongest ability.

Authority of the Void – Telekinesis!

BOOOOOM...!!

An invisible wave of energy exploded from her body, pushing and destroying everything within a radius of thousands of meters. The land that was once a city was now flattened to earth level. The remaining buildings were completely destroyed into dust, and giant cracks appeared across the surface of the ground.

However, the owner of that slash was not affected in the slightest!

SLASH...!!

The sound of a single slash was heard, but what happened was as if hundreds—no, thousands of slashes were launched at the same time. Each slash created shock waves that struck the land, creating cracks and craters everywhere. The already destroyed ground was now split like a cake being cut into pieces.

BOOOOOM...!!

"Impressive reflexes. It seems that's also a result of that experiment, isn't it?"

Another young man appeared, calmly cleaning his sword of invisible dust. He had neat brown hair and a sharp yet calm gaze. In his hands, he held two swords emitting a bluish aura—swords that seemed made from materials far superior to ordinary metal.

More amazingly, ten other swords of different shapes and sizes floated around him. Each sword emanated a unique aura—the result of being crafted using the bodies of Rank SS Magical Beasts! Every sword possessed different powers and elements, as if they were ten familiars ready to obey his commands.

Kuroki Ken—Rank SSS Hunter known as 'The King-Sword'.

The Herrscher of the Void's expression grew colder. She didn't bother speaking again. With one movement of her hand, hundreds of dimensional portals appeared in the air—each ready to release armies of Honkai Beasts to destroy her enemies.

But—

PYAARR!!

Like soap bubbles bursting, the portals disappeared before they could fully open. Just flashes of light that then vanished without a trace.

For the first time, a shocked expression appeared on the perfect face of the Herrscher of the Void. "𝐍𝐨, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭–"

She tried to analyze the situation, trying to figure out why her absolute ability could fail, but her opponent gave no opportunity to think.

Elkiah, the Rank SSS Hunter with dragon blood, had transformed. Half her body was now covered in shimmering purple scales, her hands changed into sharp claws, and small dragon wings emerged from her back. Purple dragon fire blazed all over her body, burning the air and creating heat distortions that made the scenery behind her ripple.

In her hand, a giant drill-shaped spear rotated at high speed, gathering energy that grew increasingly dense. Her eyes, now completely transformed into dragon eyes, stared at the Herrscher of the Void.

"This time, you won't escape," Elkiah hissed between her now elongated fangs.

With one stomp of her foot, the ground beneath her cracked and she shot forward like a comet—drill spear aimed directly at the Herrscher's heart!

BOOOOOOOMMM...!!!

***

The sky appeared cracked—as if the real world and another dimension collided. Amid the chaos, a gigantic dragon form roared, its body wrapped in golden lightning chains glowing brightly under the choking gravitational pressure.

Benares—the guardian dragon—was bound helplessly. Its blood-red eyes stared sharply at its attackers, but its body covered in blue-black scales couldn't move even an inch.

"Though only slightly weaker than Rank SS, it has incredible toughness and resilience," muttered a young man with a wizard's staff in his grip. His finger traced ancient symbols carved on the staff while his eyes never left the growling dragon form.

"That's natural," replied the silver-haired girl beside him without turning. Her eyes were ice blue, cold and calculating. "Its energy is unlimited as long as it continues to be filled by that creature." Her voice was flat, but there was a tremor in each word—veiled vigilance.

"I see." The young man named Kenneth chuckled, before his gaze shifted to the glowing girl floating in the air, looking like an angel descended from heaven. Her bluish light shimmered, creating an aura invisible to ordinary eyes. "But I'm also quite surprised because this is the first time I've seen a Spirit whose energy is not far below Transcendent Tier."

The girl referred to as 'Spirit' didn't respond—Takamiya Mayuri, with her long golden hair and glowing dress enveloping her body. Her beautiful face looked pale, enduring pain as her Reiryoku energy was sucked out, flowing like a river of light into Kenneth's body.

Laura Silver—Rank SS Hunter with the title Queen of Gravity—frowned deeply. Her silver sword gleamed reflecting light.

"I warn you," she hissed, "don't try anything funny."

Kenneth tilted his head, a thin smile adorning his handsome yet dangerous face.

"Don't worry," he said in a light tone that contrasted with the critical situation around them. "Although I'm interested in Miss Mayuri's power, I'm more interested in developing a relationship with her."

Laura's lips twitched. This man always played around in life-or-death situations...

This time, the attack against the Herrscher of the Void was specifically planned by him. Thanks to authority from the World Organization, he managed to gather elite Hunters for this high-risk mission—a mission many considered impossible.

Three Rank SSS Hunters were present in their formation: The Demi-Dragon Elkiah, The King-Sword Kuroki Ken, and The Shadow Scythe Fergux.

Four Rank SS Hunters completed the team: Laura Silver the Queen of Gravity with absolute gravity manipulation abilities; Healer Rina with healing powers that made many Hunters consider her a walking miracle; The Space-King Felix who could tear and manipulate space; and Kenneth—the strongest Rank SS Hunter with a mysterious Talent called 'Reality Energy'.

Kenneth's Talent was an anomaly. Rank ???, an ability that allowed him to manipulate reality as long as he was provided energy from outside. His weakness was as fatal as his power—he couldn't generate energy himself and had to get it from one individual.

And this is where Takamiya Mayuri played a role—a pure Spirit with nearly unlimited Reiryoku. Unlike the [mana] of other Hunters, Mayuri's Reiryoku had quality far exceeding standards, born from abstract factors that even elite scientists of the World Organization couldn't explain.

To face the Herrscher of the Void who could control space, the combination of Kenneth and Mayuri's powers became key. The barrier layer in the sky—the result of collaboration between Kenneth and Felix—successfully disrupted the Herrscher's Authority, limiting her destructive power. They even managed to capture Benares.

But Kenneth's power had limits. No matter how strong Mayuri's Reiryoku was, he couldn't use his Talent further without energy of higher quality.

"Don't force yourself, Miss Mayuri." Healer Rina whispered gently, her hands glowing greenish touching Mayuri's trembling shoulders. Healing energy flowed, but couldn't restore the drained Reiryoku.

"I'm... fine," said Mayuri calmly though her Spirit Dress form fluctuated, sometimes clearly visible, sometimes almost transparent like morning fog.

"Fufu, just hang in there. It probably won't take long before we win~"

That seductive yet venomous voice came from Queenie—former leader of the Shadow Order who now joined Laura's team. The woman with jet-black hair and mysterious smile played with her wine glass, as if they were relaxing at a luxurious party rather than facing a world-class threat.

They—Laura, Queenie, and the other Hunters—were tasked with protecting Kenneth, Rina, and Mayuri.

Laura could have called more high-level Hunters but it wasn't that easy considering most Rank SSS and SS Hunters were guarding the borders, holding back Honkai Energy radiation and waves of Honkai Beasts that could threaten living beings...

For a moment, Laura felt their plan was going smoothly, until—

"𝐒𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞. 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦."

That voice—cold, deep, echoing in everyone's mind like whispers of death. Not a human voice, but also not a monster's. The voice of the Herrscher of the Void—the messenger of destruction.

The air trembled. Particles of Honkai Energy appeared like deadly fireflies.

The expressions of the Hunters changed instantly. Laura drew her sword with lightning movement—

BOOOOOOOOMMM....!!!

A tremendous telekinetic explosion hit them, creating a giant crater. Rocks flew everywhere, the ground cracked like broken glass. But that attack wasn't enough to defeat the elite Hunters.

However, the fatal problem was the severed energy connection between Takamiya Mayuri and Kenneth.

JLEBB!!

A Subspace-lance—a vacuum space spear with a tip sharper than all mortal weapons—pierced Kenneth's chest without mercy. The young man's eyes widened in disbelief, blood spurting from his mouth.

His death occurred in an instant. Without the energy connection, his Talent was paralyzed and his physical ability was only equivalent to a Rank A Hunter—far below the Herrscher level facing him.

"<>!" Mayuri shouted, golden lightning exploding from her body.

"<>!" Laura activated her Talent, the gravity around her increasing thousands of times.

BOOOOOOM...!

Both attacks shot like twin comets, but the Herrscher of the Void just elegantly raised her hand. Dimensional portals opened, swallowing their attacks before spitting them back with multiplied power!

"Not so easy ~" Queenie grinned. Her shadow swelled, transforming into a monstrous form that swallowed the attack that should have annihilated them.

The Herrscher of the Void's eyes narrowed—two golden irises cold without mercy. With a movement of her slender fingers, thousands of Subspace-lances formed in the air, gleaming with deadly threat before launching at speeds that couldn't be tracked by ordinary eyes!

But the shapes of those spears suddenly became irregular in the air, as if there was another power trying to control them.

The corner of the Herrscher's lips twitched, her cold aura growing more suffocating. "𝐀𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐥. 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮?"

Her hand moved quickly, grasping something invisible. In an instant, Felix's form appeared in her grip, choked powerfully. His neck under pressure that could crush steel.

"Ughkhuk!!" Felix struggled, his blue eyes widening in horror. His body glowed purplish as he tried to use his space power to escape. But in the presence of the true ruler of space, his efforts were like a child trying to defeat a professional boxer.

The Herrscher of the Void's grip tightened, Felix's neck bones creaking horribly. Soon his head would be severed from his body—

Queenie's giant shadow launched forward, attempting to devour the Herrscher of the Void in absolute darkness. But instead of hitting the target, her shadow passed through the Herrscher's body like smoke, as if her form was merely an illusion.

"Oh no..." Queenie gasped.

The corner of the Herrscher's lips raised in a cold, terrifying smile. "𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦, 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚."

RROAAAAAAR.....!!!

Benares—the dragon they thought had been subdued—roared tremendously. All the lightning energy accumulated during its captivity was released in one massive attack. The sky darkened, the air trembled, the ground cracked deeper.

BLAAAAAAAAARRR.....!!!

An explosion like an atomic bomb swept through the place. Blinding light, burning heat, shock waves crushing everything in their path.

***

"Uhuk... Uhuk... Ukh..."

Laura coughed blood as her consciousness slowly returned. Her body felt crushed, her internal organs as if shredded. Cold pierced to the bone—strange ice covered parts of her body, ice formed from Mayuri's pure reiryoku...

With blurry vision, she witnessed the ruins around her. The place that had been their temporary headquarters was now nothing more than a crater filled with debris. No signs of life from her companions. Mayuri, Rina, Queenie—whether still alive or already part of the rubble.

Then she saw her—the elegant figure floating amid the destruction. The Herrscher of the Void with her unstained white dress, her white hair billowing in the wind of death, and her golden eyes looking at Laura coldly, without emotion, like a scientist observing an insect under a microscope.

"How did you find us?..." asked Laura in a hoarse voice, holding back blood threatening to gush from her mouth.

"𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧?" The Herrscher's voice echoed, cold and piercing. "𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐭. 𝐍𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬."

Laura bit her lip until it bled. That was true—the three Rank SSS Hunters, instead of working together, fought with their own egos. Elkiah with her wild dragon power, Kuroki Ken with his perfect but solitary sword technique, and Fergux with his dark and secretive strategy—they all failed to unite.

The Herrscher of the Void exploited that gap perfectly, escaping only to return with full power. More terrifying, Laura only now realized how careless she had been in not calculating that Takamiya Mayuri had been infected with Honkai. Through that infection, the Herrscher could track them even in their remote hiding place.

"𝐍𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨?" The Herrscher tilted her head elegantly, her eyes flashing dangerously. "𝐍𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐒𝐒𝐒, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐲."

Laura was silent, bitter awareness hitting her harder than any physical attack. For safety, she had chosen a very remote location for their operation—far from the reach of Illegal Guilds that often disrupted missions. Ironically, that decision trapped them in a deadly trap with no way out.

With trembling hands, Laura forced her crushed body to stand. Blood dripped from her wounds, forming a small pool at her feet. With a final movement full of determination, she pointed her sword toward the Herrscher.

The Herrscher looked at her, then cold laughter escaped from her pale lips—laughter full of contempt, laughter that echoed despair and death. "𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐣𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐞?"

Laura didn't answer. Her eyes radiated a strange calmness—the calmness of someone who had accepted her fate but still had one hidden ace. "Go," she whispered softly.

The Herrscher's golden eyes narrowed suspiciously. She realized something strange—the shadow beneath Laura's feet moved unnaturally, as if alive with its own will. "𝐓𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞? 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥–"

Her speech was cut off by Laura's sudden attack. Her silver sword moved in a deadly dance—elegant yet full of vengeance. More surprisingly, the space shield that had been the Herrscher's impenetrable fortress cracked under Laura's sword swing!

Her 'Queen of Gravity' Talent wasn't just controlling gravity—but able to manipulate gravity to a level that could tear space itself. Each swing of her sword created gravitational waves that could destroy the structure of reality.

But that desperate attack wasn't enough to defeat the ruler of emptiness.

BOOOM!!

The Herrscher raised her hand, creating a space push so tremendous it destroyed Laura's internal organs. Blood spurted from her mouth like a red fountain, her body thrown back and then crushed under a fallen pillar with a terrible thudding sound.

"Uhuk... Hah..." Laura coughed weakly, her vision blurred by pain and blood. With the remnants of life still burning, she tried to rise—

Thousands of Subspace-lances appeared in the air, gleaming with deadly threat. But Laura's reflexes—the result of decades of training and battle—never betrayed her. Even with a body nearly destroyed, she was still able to make a counter movement.

But one Subspace-lance managed to pierce her shoulder, followed by another stabbing into her stomach, then her thigh, and next, and next again... until her body was filled with space spears pinning her to the ground like a butterfly in a collection box.

"𝐀 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞," mocked Herrscher, stepping closer with elegance, each step leaving traces of spatial distortion on the ground. "𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐛𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐦𝐞?"

A mysterious smile appeared on Laura's blood-covered face. "Wrong... I'm not stalling... for time," she uttered brokenly, blood flowing from the corner of her lips. "Just waiting... for the opportunity..."

"𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲?" Herrscher frowned in confusion. "𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲—"

Before finishing the sentence, Laura moved with a speed that should have been impossible for a body pierced by dozens of spears. Not the movement of a normal human, but one driven by iron determination and careful calculation.

A sense of danger tickled Herrscher's instincts. She raised her hand, preparing to use her destructive Authority to annihilate Laura without a trace—

But her Authority was disrupted, as if an invisible hand was pulling at it. Among the ruins, Felix's nearly unrecognizable figure—his body destroyed yet still breathing—used his remaining strength to interfere with the Herrscher's spatial control.

"𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮!!" The Herrscher of the Void's furious roar shook the air. Her golden eyes turned blood red, her skin radiating a blinding bluish-purple light.

With brutal movement, she tore Felix's body into pieces of flesh with her Subspace-lance. Blood spurted in all directions, staining the ground and ruins with deep red.

But anger had blinded the Herrscher. In that precious instant, Laura lunged forward and plunged a syringe into the Herrscher of the Void's neck!

Click!

A small sound that preceded great catastrophe. The Herrscher's golden eyes widened in shock, her lips parted in a very human surprise—

"𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐑𝐇𝐇𝐇!!"

Her scream was no longer the voice of the arrogant ruler of emptiness, but a cry of pure, raw pain. Her body shook violently, bluish-purple light exploding from every pore of her skin.

BOOOOOOOOMMMM....!!!

A massive Honkai Energy explosion struck everything. The evil energy swirled into a storm that devoured anything within its reach. Trees were uprooted, the ground lifted and shattered, the sky changed color to dark purple filled with lightning flashes.

Laura was thrown like a rag doll, her already crushed body further destroyed by the energy wave. Before her consciousness completely faded, she managed to witness a sight she would never forget.

The Herrscher of the Void was enveloped in brilliant light...
