Chapter 26 - Chapter 25 – Because I am the Honkai

Kirai was a normal young man you could find in everyday life. His life was monotonous like most people's—working as an office employee and watching anime to fill his free time.

If asked about his favorite anime, without hesitation he would answer firmly.

Naruto.

Specifically, he only watched Naruto. As for its sequel, Boruto—Kirai had absolutely no interest in watching it.

How could he? In Kirai's eyes, compared to the golden era of shinobi in Naruto, the shinobi in Boruto felt like a joke. Their powers and jutsu that should have been amazing were rarely used. Instead, forbidden and deadly jutsu could be casually used by low-class shinobi.

Most disappointing of all, the main enemies in Boruto weren't true shinobi, but alien creatures from outer space. Aliens!

"Imagine," Kirai muttered while discussing with his friend, "the epic battles that should involve ninjutsu being thrown around and the magnificent wars in Naruto, now just seem like child's play. What's the use of amazing jutsu if in the end everything gets absorbed by an alien's Rinnegan eyes?"

Even the legendary duo of Sasuke and Naruto who were once so impressive, in Boruto appeared like clowns despite both being heroes of the shinobi world.

But despite all his disappointment, even though the Boruto anime was basically 'disappointing' and its power system was chaotic, Kirai had to admit one thing—thanks to that exploration, the Naruto world became much broader and couldn't be underestimated.

***

Kirai's destiny changed that night.

While deep into another Naruto marathon viewing session, Kirai's consciousness was suddenly sucked into the screen. A strange sensation spread throughout his body before darkness swallowed him.

When he regained consciousness, he found himself in the body of a boy—who coincidentally was also named Kirai.

"Hah, hah, hah, damn! System! What was that creature!"

The white-haired boy with gray eyes was running in panic. His breath was ragged, showing that he was fleeing from something terrifying.

Yes, that boy was Kirai—in his new body.

And what was chasing him...

BOOOMM!!

A giant white creature as tall as a skyscraper destroyed several houses with a single blow. Purple-patterned markings spread across its body like a malignant infection, and its glowing red eyes fixed on Kirai with killing intent.

'What is that?' Kirai thought with horror. Based on his new body's memories, a creature like this had never been seen before—meaning this was a new type of Magical Beast.

But even if he knew what kind of creature it was, how could he fight it?

"SYSTEM!! Do something quickly or I'll die!!" screamed Kirai, his voice trembling with terror.

His physical abilities in this world did exceed those of an adult in his original world thanks to the 'Talent' this body possessed, but it was still impossible to fight a creature as big as a building with bare hands!

That's when a mechanical voice echoed inside his head:

[Ding! Host detected in danger, automatically opening 'Starter Shinobi Box'...]

[Ding! Obtained 'Kekkei Genkai: Rinnegan - Uzumaki Nagato'!]

[Ding! Obtained one hundred 'Explosive Tags'!]

[Ding! Obtained all six 'The Six Paths of Pain' puppets!]

[Ding! Does Host wish to forcibly equip 'Kekkei Genkai: Rinnegan'!]

[Please note that the Host's body does not poss-]

"To hell with it, just install the Rinnegan eyes on me!!" Kirai shouted without thinking twice.

[Ding! Understood...]

As the system's voice echoed in his mind, Kirai's foot caught on building debris, causing him to fall hard.

The giant white creature growled, raising its claw high, ready to crush Kirai's body into pulp. However, something happened...

Kirai's pupils, originally gray, began to change, followed by his entire eyeballs. Eyes of grayish purple with concentric circle patterns slowly replaced his irises.

Rinnegan—eyes considered to be one of the most powerful abilities in the entire fictional world.

By instinct, Kirai shouted one of the most powerful Rinnegan jutsu:

"<>"

Instantly, a terrifying repulsive force spread in all directions with Kirai as its center. Not only was the giant creature in front of him instantly thrown back, but all buildings and small monsters around him were also completely destroyed like dust!

BOOOM...!!

A tremendous explosion shook an area hundreds of meters wide, creating a large crater with Kirai at its center.

"Hah... Hah... Hah..."

The disappearance of the monsters should have been good news, but Kirai felt like his own life was about to fade away. His body trembled and blood flowed from his nose.

Using 'Shinra Tensei' just once—even in its weakest version—had drained half of his life energy! Even just to activate the Rinnegan, his body's chakra was constantly being drained!

"System! Turn off these Rinnegan eyes!"

Unlike normal Rinnegan users, Kirai could ask the system to deactivate his eyes. Otherwise, his fate would surely be the same as Uzumaki Nagato, whose body became emaciated due to excessive Rinnegan use.

"Ugh..."

Kirai's pupils returned to normal, the purple color changing back to gray. Staggering, he rose from his position and looked around with... awe and horror.

A crater one hundred meters wide stretched before him, with himself at the center. Nothing remained—buildings, monsters, trees—everything had been leveled.

"As expected from the Rinnegan eyes..." Kirai muttered in amazement.

No wonder people who awakened the Rinnegan eyes in the Naruto world could be counted on fingers. These eyes were truly that powerful—except for the Otsutsuki aliens who were the original source of this power.

"But despite being powerful, I can't use the full power of these eyes," Kirai continued with a bitter tone.

If it had to be explained, Kirai was like wearing a flawed version of the Rinnegan. He didn't have enough 'Chakra' even to activate it for long periods.

But at least, Kirai already felt relieved. Having Rinnegan eyes at the beginning of his transition to this new world was enough to guarantee his safety for the time being.

Rinnegan had many powerful and terrifying jutsu. Of course, the most impressive might be Chibaku Tensei, which could create a mini planet, or Rinne Tensei, which could resurrect the dead—although at the cost of the user's life.

"But what was that creature? A Magical Beast capable of infecting other living creatures?"

After calming down, Kirai's mind began to work. From the memories of the child's body he inhabited, it seemed the Magical Beast came from a mysterious portal that suddenly appeared in the sky...

A dimensional portal? Even in the Naruto world, shinobi who could create dimensional jutsu like that could probably be counted on fingers.

This new world appeared to be far more dangerous than he had imagined.

But Kirai wasn't intimidated. With the help of the 'Naruto System', he was confident he would become the strongest!

"Become the strongest, gather beautiful women, and conquer the world!" Kirai smiled with determination. He couldn't wait for the bright future that awaited him!

Just as he was immersed in his fantasies—

WOSSHHH...!!

A terrible energy pressure suddenly swept over the area. All of Kirai's hair stood on end, his face paled, and his body froze instantly. Even without looking, his instincts screamed that this was a deadly threat!

"W-what is that..." he whispered with a trembling voice.

Kirai stared at the bright light shining in the distance. The frightening pressure felt like the presence of the god of death descending from heaven to earth.

Along with that, dark shadows covered the sky. Kirai looked up and witnessed a sight that should only exist in science fiction films.

One by one, super advanced technology fleets streaked across the sky at high speed. Not just conventional fighter jets or military aircraft—these were futuristic forces with giant robots (mecha) flying freely! Their countless numbers resembled a swarm of bees heading to an enemy nest.

"Are they heading toward the source of that pressure?" Kirai looked with doubt, then whispered to himself: "...Should I follow?"

He hesitated. Could there be an even greater disaster that even the Rinnegan couldn't face?

While sinking into his thoughts...

[Ding! Successfully killed a Rank C creature for the first time!]

[Reward: 'Unlimited Rinnegan usage for 1 hour']

The notification from the system made Kirai pause before a wide smile spread across his face. With this bonus, he could go there without worrying about running out of chakra!

Even so, he still had to be careful. The limit was only one hour, and he still didn't know what was happening. Whatever it was, Kirai was determined to make the best use of this opportunity.

'...Why don't I try that?'

A brilliant idea crossed his mind, making him excited. With a confident smile, he said:

"System, release the 'Pein Rikudō' puppets."

[Ding! Understood!]

In an instant, six coffins appeared before Kirai. Slowly, the coffins opened, revealing six bodies with Rinnegan eyes identical to his own.

The six Pain puppets that had terrorized Konoha village were now under Kirai's control.

With a wide grin, Kirai activated his Rinnegan again. This time, without pain or fatigue thanks to the gift from the system.

"Get ready, new world. The God has arrived!"

At the Rebirn Kingdom Command Headquarters...

"What about all our fleet forces?"

In a futuristic room filled with advanced equipment, an old man in royal robes stood tensely in front of a giant hologram screen. King Aidan van Rebirn, the supreme ruler of the Rebirn Kingdom, known for his obsession with technology.

"They're all en route to the location, Your Majesty. Estimated arrival time is less than three minutes," replied an officer sitting in front of a control screen.

"Good." The old man nodded with satisfaction, his eyes flashing with ambition. "Through this incident, we will show the world that our kingdom's technology is not just empty talk."

King Aidan was famous for his Talent called 'Mechanical Genius', enabling him to create revolutionary technologies that even surpassed imagination. His vision was simple yet ambitious—the more technology developed, the safer their world would be.

Unfortunately, many parties disagreed with him, including the Oblivion Empire, which was actually the leading country in terms of technology. They considered King Aidan's vision too dangerous.

That's why King Aidan decided not to follow the protocols that had been agreed upon in the World Organization. He was confident his high-tech forces would be able to eliminate the threat called 'Herrscher of the Void'—something even feared by world leaders.

"As for Rank Unknown? Heh, that's just because of Authority or whatever," muttered King Aidan arrogantly. "I already have a solution to deal with it!"

He had prepared special technology to temporarily deactivate enemy Talents. Thus, the creature called 'Herrscher of the Void' would be easy prey for his forces.

"Your Majesty, all units have arrived at the location," reported a Hunter in military uniform.

King Aidan's old face creased in a victorious smile.

"Then what are you waiting for? Eliminate those Honkai Magical Beasts! Don't leave a single one of them!"

The Hunter nodded obediently before giving orders through the communicator to the forces in the field.

On the giant hologram screen, hundreds of glowing dots began moving toward one point emanating abnormal energy. There was no doubt in their movements—only the conviction that the Rebirn Kingdom's technology would prove its supremacy.

***

"We've received orders to attack."

The Hunter's fingers trembled slightly over the control panel. Cold sweat ran down his temple while his eyes stared at the tactical screen filled with countless red dots—signs of Honkai life.

"Alright, then..." The Hunter took a deep breath, swallowed, and pressed the button with forced determination. "...Attack."

At that moment, the sky turned brilliantly bright. Thousands of Honkai Beasts and Zombies looked up in unison, as if hypnotized by the blinding light, before—

BOOOM...!! BOOOM...!! BOOM...!!

The sky shattered in a symphony of destruction. Laser beams cut through the air like the swords of gods. Bullets the size of fists streaked alongside maneuvering missiles that dove sharply, annihilating all Honkai-created creatures within range.

The Rebirn Kingdom was not an entity that acted rashly. Instead of immediately deploying Mecha forces into the danger zone, they chose a long-distance strategy first. Clearing the field of secondary threats before facing the main enemy—Herrscher of the Void.

And that decision wasn't wrong. The number of Honkai Beasts and Zombies filling the target area was truly beyond initial calculations!

However, when the fleet was reloading its weapons, a flock of winged Honkai Beasts streaked toward them at terrifying speed, claws and fangs gleaming under the dim sunlight.

"Attack!!" shouted the commander with a choked voice.

The aircraft muzzles moved in unison, releasing [mana] bullets with auto-aim technology that immediately tracked targets. One by one, Honkai Beasts exploded in the air like terrifying fireworks, fragments of their bodies glowing before disappearing into energy particles.

Some Beasts managed to land on the hull of ships—their claws scratching metal with a painful scraping sound. However, within seconds, they were annihilated by the Mecha forces that had been on standby.

BOOOM..!!

The Rebirn Kingdom's Mechas were not ordinary war machines. Each unit was at least equivalent to the abilities of a Rank C or B Hunter, with some elite units reaching Rank A. Their metallic bodies were immune to the effects of Honkai Energy—the main advantage that formed the basis of King Aidan's belief that they would succeed in conquering the Herrscher of the Void!

BOOOMMM...!

The scream of crushed metal was heard when one part of the fighter aircraft fleet was successfully penetrated and destroyed. The Hunters were momentarily shocked, but military discipline quickly took over. They directed counterattacks with high precision, annihilating every Honkai Beast that dared approach.

The night sky turned into a stunning stage of death. Brightly colored lasers streaked like meteor showers. Anti-tank bullets pierced the air with terrible whines. Smart missiles spun searching for prey. A paradoxical sight—so beautiful yet deadly.

Amid the chaos, the Mecha forces showed remarkable efficiency. Each unit was equipped with energy swords similar to lightsabers that glowed bluish, plus automatic missile launchers on both shoulders. They moved with deadly precision, able to annihilate ten large Honkai Beasts without appearing to struggle.

However, a major problem began to emerge...

"Damn! There's no end to them!" shouted one of the Hunters, his voice broken by frustration and fatigue.

No matter how many Honkai Beasts they annihilated, new creatures kept appearing like ants coming out of their nest. Over time, all weapons began to experience decreased efficiency. Laser weapon power recovery slowed down, energy consumption surged dramatically.

If this situation continued, they would be forced to retreat even before facing the main target—Herrscher of the Void.

In the surveillance room located thousands of kilometers from the combat zone, King Aidan's face hardened. His thin lips were tightly closed, his eyes staring sharply at the holographic projection displaying the war situation. With a stiff movement, he pressed the microphone button and gave orders in a low voice full of pressure.

"Damn it, just use 'Sonic Waves'!"

Hearing direct orders from the King, the Rank S Hunter leading the operation hesitated for a moment. The technology hadn't been fully tested in large-scale battlefield conditions. However, the situation left no room for hesitation.

"Use 'Sonic Waves'!!" he shouted through the communication channel.

Simultaneously, the entire aircraft fleet deployed special weaponry. Weapon muzzles much larger in size emerged from the bottom of the aircraft, but it wasn't missiles or rockets that came out—rather ultra-sonic pressure waves invisible yet deadly.

BOOOM...!! BOOOM...!! BOOOM...!!

The effect was immediate and horrifying. Honkai Beasts exploded from within, their bodies bursting like bubbles, internal organs destroyed before they could realize what was happening. The waves continued to propagate, destroying the back ranks of the Honkai forces without mercy.

"Alright, with this we will—"

The statement full of relief was cut off by a sight that froze their blood.

Silver-blue light wrapped in lightning suddenly struck, piercing several fleets at once!

BLAAAAARRR....!!

"What—"

All eyes widened in horror. Amid the smoke and flying debris, a giant figure appeared—a blue dragon gleaming like a starry night sky. The creature floated with graceful movements that contrasted with its destructive power, before exhaling deadly blue breath that incinerated whatever it passed through.

KRAK!

The pride of the Rebirn fleet's energy shields—cutting-edge technology developed at fantastic cost—shattered like thin glass under a child's hand. Fleet after fleet exploded in deafening fireballs!

BLAAAAARRR....!!

Fortunately, all Hunters were in Mecha units equipped with high-level safety systems and independent flying devices. They managed to make emergency landings, albeit with severely damaged units.

However, their landing was greeted by a sea of Honkai Beasts and Zombies that had been waiting.

"Arrrggg! Help!"

"Assistance! I need assistance!"

"I don't want to become a Zombie!"

"Save me!"

Painful screams filled the communication channels. With ammunition nearly depleted and damaged systems, the Mechas couldn't survive long under the relentless siege. Unit after unit fell. Pilots bitten by Zombies quickly transformed, joining the enemy they had just been fighting.

Even Rank A Hunters with the strongest Talents eventually succumbed to the countless enemies.

Nevertheless, the fleet remaining in the sky was still quite numerous. Of the 200 battleships sent, only about 20 fleets had been destroyed by the blue dragon. The battle wasn't over yet.

In the command room, King Aidan's face grew darker. His eyes flashed dangerously, his jaw hardened holding back bubbling anger. He had underestimated the creature's power!

"What are you doing, attack that dragon!" he ordered with a growling voice.

"Yes sir!!"

The Hunters in the remaining fleet strengthened their resolve. Although horrified watching their colleagues destroyed on the surface, they suppressed fear and launched all remaining destroyer missiles.

They were no longer reluctant to spend weaponry to annihilate the blue dragon. Their choices were only two: destroy or be destroyed.

The blue dragon sensed the wave of attacks directed at it. Even with its extraordinary power, it was impossible to withstand simultaneous attacks from hundreds of annihilation weapons. Missiles with auto-aim that kept following, pressure waves capable of annihilating hundreds of Honkai Beasts in an instant—there was no way to dodge!

King Aidan smiled thinly. His confidence began to return. Even a Rank SS Hunter couldn't possibly emerge unscathed from an attack this massive, let alone a dragon whose power was still below that level.

But just when victory seemed to be within reach, a soft voice cut through the atmosphere.

Click.

Just the sound of a finger snap, yet somehow it echoed to the innermost corner of the battle. Even King Aidan far away in his palace could hear the sound clearly, as if someone were whispering right in his ear.

Then they saw it.

The sky that had been filled with projectiles and laser beams was now adorned with a new phenomenon—small portals popping up like stars in the night sky. Dark purple with glowing pink edges, these portals appeared in countless numbers.

Like miniature black holes, these portals began to swallow everything around them. Missiles, lasers, bullets, even energy waves—all disappeared into the portals without a trace, as if they had never existed.

In the midst of the chaos, a girl floated gracefully. The embodiment of destruction itself.

Her expression was empty, but her eyes held eternal hatred. In her hand wrapped in elegant black gloves, an energy ball glowed—pitch black with dazzling golden sparks. The ball contained all the attacks that had been swallowed by the portals, destructive power ready to be returned to its senders.

With a graceful movement, the girl clenched her fist.

New portals appeared, far more than before. They surrounded the entire Rebirn fleet, closing every possible escape route. If the previous portals were black holes that swallowed all matter, these portals were the opposite—white holes that spewed out everything that had been swallowed.

BOOOMM...!! BOOOMM...!! BOOOMM...!!

***

"..."

An eerie silence enveloped the Rebirn Kingdom surveillance room. No one dared speak when the monitor screen before them turned pitch black. Communication channels went silent immediately—a sign that there was nothing left to communicate with.

Their pride and joy, hundreds of the most advanced battleships with thousands of trained Hunters, vanished without a trace in seconds.

King Aidan froze in his chair, his eyes still fixed on the black screen reflecting the emptiness of his defeat.

Then, the screen flickered before lighting up again. Apparently, some Hunters had survived—either by luck or deliberately left alive to deliver a message.

The scene recorded by the camera could only be described with one word: devastation.

Mecha fragments scattered on scorched ground. Hunters lucky enough to survive the first attack had now turned into Zombies, joining the enemy they had fought. Remaining fleets fell from the sky one by one, creating tremendous explosions when hitting the ground.

Fire blazed everywhere, illuminating the horrific scene with reddish light that seemed to mock human efforts.

In the midst of the devastation, the figure of the Herrscher of the Void began to appear on screen.

White hair down to the waist gleamed softly under the light of fire consuming the remnants of civilization. Her slender body was wrapped in an elegant black suit with white and pink accents, complemented by long black gloves patterned with pink on her left hand.

She walked on air, each step creating ripples of purplish glowing dimensions. Her power as Herrscher of the Void radiated from every movement that was graceful yet deadly.

The girl stopped her steps, her eyes looking directly at the camera still recording—as if she could see King Aidan and all the kingdom officials watching from afar.

"𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬... 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞."

Her voice was so melodious yet cold, echoing in the mind of everyone who heard it.

"𝐖𝐚𝐫, 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐣𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐲, 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝... 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠."

Her gaze changed, hatred and disgust radiating strongly, followed by killing intent so thick it felt suffocating.

"𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠..."

Her golden eyes adorned with a sharp cross mark in the center shone brighter, emitting light...

"...𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐤𝐚𝐢."

With her final words, the screen went dark again. A stifling silence enveloped the surveillance room, filled only by held breaths and racing heartbeats.
