Chapter 16 - OPRS: Chapter 16

She took the bait.

Alistair couldn't help but smile.

The reason he had been on Lily Island for so many days without "preaching" was all because of Gloriosa.

He didn't know if it was because of their long isolation, but the Amazonian girls on Lily Island were kind of naive, too easily trusting.

This was also the reason why Luffy was helped by so many innocent and simple-minded natives along the way.

Theoretically speaking, the Amazonian warriors of Lily Island were no different from these innocent and simple-minded natives.

That's why they needed protection, that's why they banned men from the island.

There were so many smooth-talking guys out there. If someone came to the island, who knows how many people would be tricked away.

The Empress's psychological defenses were arguably the strongest.

And Gloriosa was clearly the anchor of Amazon Lily. The Empress and her sisters could go out to plunder, because Amazon Lily's plundering didn't leave anyone alive. If he hadn't had the Celestial Dragon's hoof mark on him, the Empress would never have shown him mercy.

But now, the Empress had been won over. Since they were going to sail out, with his intelligence and abilities, he was enough to manage the Kuja Pirates. But Kuja Island needed an anchor to stabilize the people.

Especially now that the Empress was sailing out.

So, she was definitely not going to go with them.

Alistair couldn't remember the details from the manga. How could a normal person even remember such details? The reason he knew was because he deduced it from the details.

And if Gloriosa stayed on Amazon Lily, then he would be in charge of the entire ship.

In fact, the Empress didn't really care about things most of the time. And once he was on board, he would be the only one in charge.

And without Gloriosa's restrictions, he could preach however he wanted on the entire ship.

Since Gloriosa had said so, then the matter was basically settled.

The national warriors were staying. This time, the only ones going out to plunder were the regular warriors of the Kuja Pirates, a total of less than fifty people.

There were also five cooks and five shipwrights. Only forty were actual fighters.

But don't underestimate them. They all knew Armament Haki.

When they really fought, they wouldn't be weaker than any pirate with a bounty under 100 million berries.

This configuration, not to mention the first half of the Grand Line, even in the latter half, would be considered quite substantial.

And they wanted to go back through the Grand Line, which was actually very difficult. But luckily, their long plundering career had given them a lot of Log Pose records. Among these Log Pose records, there were naturally many Eternal Pointers. Some of these Eternal Pointers pointed to Water Seven, and some pointed to Alabasta.

When the sails were furled and the two serpents dived underwater, the Empress's floating palace reached its top speed. Alistair stood on the bow of the ship, watching the speed increase instantly. He couldn't help but feel a sense of exhilaration. Now, he had truly stepped onto the Grand Line and truly started the second phase of his plan.

He had lied to Gloriosa and the Empress.

His real destination wasn't Alabasta. Though Alabasta was indeed one of the beginnings of the Grand Line, even one of the countries established by the Celestial Dragons, and the base of the Warlord Crocodile's power, it was also a very good place to develop gemin. But his goal wasn't Alabasta.

His real goal was the next stop after Alabasta: Sky Island.

That place had a super-powered fighter, still immature. Most importantly, if Enel hadn't eaten the Goro Goro no Mi yet, then that thing was the perfect thing for him.

Just like Dragon's Doku Doku no Mi, he could appear anywhere in the world at any time, help most of the people in the world, establish bases that the Marines couldn't find, and instantly reach the level of those who were second only to the top few people in the world, both in terms of self-defense and combat ability.

Even if Enel had already eaten the fruit, there was no need to worry too much. The current Enel would be directly blasted by Luffy. Even if he already had the Mantra and Observation Haki, he was probably just a small tyrant in the first half of the Grand Line. He couldn't possibly fight Hancock, who was at the top of the second tier.

Because Hancock had not only Armament Haki and Observation Haki, but also Conqueror's Haki.

And Enel, with only Mantra and Observation Haki, would probably not be Hancock's opponent.

If you really had to compare, the current Enel could probably fight Crocodile on equal footing. Hancock was still above them.

"Sigh, when will I ever become strong." He lowered his head, gripping the handrail. His hair, which had been cut short, swayed wildly in the sea breeze. The waves couldn't affect this big ship. He even felt very stable. The two serpents were working hard underwater, easily pulling the ship to a speed of 30 knots ≈ 55 kilometers per hour. The actual feeling was like a speed of 60 kilometers per hour.

This was easy on land, of course, but at sea, the waves would constantly lift the ship up and then press it down. Your ship would be like surfing, constantly going up and down.

And the 60 kilometers per hour at sea, plus the sea breeze blowing in your face and the waves crashing down, had a different kind of exhilaration compared to the monotonous land.

If you had to say, a large building running on the sea at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour...

You could probably understand that feeling.

And some things you can't understand until you see them with your own eyes. For example, the Kuja Pirates' floating palace. It was a bit like the Chinese ancient tower ships, but tower ships weren't suitable for naval warfare because they were too top-heavy and easily blown over by the wind.

But this was the Calm Belt. There was no problem building such a tall tower ship here. Plus, with the help of the sea serpents, the ship was really fast and stable.

Soon, he saw why this place was completely deserted, why no one could survive out of here. Less than twenty minutes after leaving Kuja Island, a giant sea king, like a flying fish, over 650 feet long, leaped out of the water, flying like a bird, bringing up a huge plume of water vapor. It soared like a dragon, instantly reaching hundreds of meters in the air. The seawater it brought up rained down like rain, pitter-pattering from the sky, hitting Alistair painfully.

But the next second, a larger sea king emerged from the water and bit it in two.

Blood and seawater mixed together, drenching Alistair from head to toe.
