Chapter 7 - Fed On

{CASTIEL'S POINT OF VIEW}

"How was the lunch?

Do you manage to get him to sign the deal?" Laura popped into my office after I just returned.

I was not paying attention to her or the question she asked, my mind wandered off to the grey-eyed cold man I had just met a few hours ago.

"Sir?" Laura called out and waved a hand in front of my face a few times before I snapped back to reality.

"Just leave me alone" I waved her away and her smile dropped before she hurried to leave with her skirt barely covering her ass.

How can she dress like that in a formal setting?

It was barely five minutes after Laura left when a knock sounded on the door.

"What is it again?" I groaned under my breath and rubbed a hand over my forehead.

I'm getting frustrated already.

"Can I come in?" Sage, my best friend asked as he peered inside.

Although he is my childhood friend I cannot recall anything from my childhood and only from ten years ago.

"You look like you are about to cry," he said, stopping in front of me.

"What?"

"Ah, you don't seem to be in the mood. It was only a joke" he replied and proceeded to light a cigarette.

"When are you getting off work?" He asked after a few drags.

The smoke was gradually filling the air causing me to frown.

"I don't know, why?"

"I want to ride home with you".

He replied with a grin.

"That's unusual". A frown pulled my brows together.

I rarely see him, maybe once a month. He pops in like this and disappears for another month.

Showing up with injuries and looking worse for wear.

"Yes, the world is now unusual. With those blood suckers crawling around the city corners, I can't let them get to you" He replied and walked to the window. A hand was tucked deep into pocket ever since he walked in.

Probably hiding something.

"I'm not a kid Sage, I can take care of myself. Whereas they can get to you too".

"I will be waiting outside for you" he said with a wink and left. Ending the conversation even before it started.

What is he hiding from me?

He has been like this ever since, as if he was afraid something would happen to me.

I got off work and was glad Sage wasn't waiting like he said he would, although I looked around for him briefly before I told the driver to leave.

I guess I had spent too much time in my office that I did not notice the sky was darkening already.

My house is in my father's estate and in an upscale neighbourhood.

The road gets deserted and quiet when the sun goes down like this.

It's not strange and I was looking through my phone when the car slowly came to a halt.

"Is everything alright?" I asked, looking outside but I saw nothing.

My driver could not give a response and he only repeatedly blared the horn.

"What the hell is that?"

I asked in confusion as the person that stood in the middle of the road stayed rooted to the same spot.

He was shirtless and was staring back at me.

His empty black eyes sent chills down my spine.

This can't be one of those blood suckers right?

I looked back behind us and fortunately there were no other vehicles on the private road except us.

"Reverse the car and get me out of here" I ordered as my hand gripped on the seat for stability.

We didn't have enough time to think or reverse the car when he suddenly jumped on the car and broke the windshield. Sending pieces of broken glass flying everywhere.

This fucker must be crazy.

I thought angrily and rushed out of the car to push him off.

I might not fight often or rarely be in situations to use my fists but I'm not a bad fighter.

He turned towards me and I noticed that his eyes were bloodshot and not black.

The distance from the car had messed up my vision.

"Can you get off my car now?" I asked, while maintaining a safe distance from him.

My driver had gotten out of the car after me and he slowly tugged at me.

"I think we should leave him alone," He said in a small voice that trembled with fear.

And I understood his fear, the person before us had pale and patchy skin.

He is barefooted and has no hair on his head, not to mention the scratch marks on his chest.

"Get down now" I ordered again, making sure my voice was strong enough to send fear through him but he only grinned. Showing a set of brown teeth and exceptionally long fangs.

This is bad.

I thought but I made sure to stand my ground.

Suddenly, he leapt off the hood of my car and stood in front of me.

Even though I have watched and read the news, I can't believe the bullshit that he could easily overpower me.

He looks malnourished and underweight.

Moving at a speed close to the speed of light, his hand closed over my throat faster than I could think.

My hand grasped at his to break his grip but it was as if it was made out of iron as its pressure increased and air slowly drained out of my lungs and my vision whitened.

I had underestimated him.

When I thought I was going to die, he suddenly let go and immediately a piercing pain travelled through my neck.

Let me go!

I wanted to scream but no sound was coming out of my mouth.

Am I getting fed on?

I had thought everything on the news was just propaganda but I'm wrong after all because life slowly drained out of me and everything slowly turned black.

And I didn't even have the chance to fight for my life.
