"Why do you think Axel and Nicholas suddenly fight?" Michelle asked Samantha and Zoe in a whisper while spreading the plates on the table.
Jasper and Leonel went to clean the rooms after they finished cooking the eggs and some cans.
As girls, the urge to gossip was difficult to restrain.
Samantha shrugged and turned her head to Zoe, knowing the latter might have known something than them.
Michelle also glanced at Zoe and could not help but wondered, Zoe's disposition changed ever since that accident. She… has become more mature?
In fact, she could not really judge Zoe since they were not that close, except they were sharing a room. Since they were busy at their school, they rarely had a chance to interact. Nevertheless, there was an obvious change to Zoe.
Zoe smiled at them slightly and replied, "Isn't Nicholas being against to refer our Emperor as Emperor? I think he is being jealous and he might have been so verbal about it, causing Axel to argue with him.
After all, from the way I see it, Axel admired our Emperor the most."
"It's natural." Michelle shrugged. "Even I admired the way he easily killed the zombies."
Zoe nodded. "There you have it. That is why it is important to report this to the Emperor. The earlier to get rid of annoyance, the better."
"Get rid… What do you mean?" Michelle was stunned.
Zoe only smiled slightly on response, turned around and continued to finish the task.
Michelle's eyes widened, glanced at Samantha, and saw her being surprised, as well.
They did not say anything and went quiet.
They soon served the dish–sardines cooked with eggs. It was their only dish but it cost three cans and three eggs, which should suffice, as long as there was rice… Thankfully, the rice they cooked could, at least, provide them two cups each.
For boarders, it was enough. Most of them even rarely ate breakfast, as they usually ate lunch, calling it, Brunch (Breakfast and Lunch.)
Intermittent fasting was usual for them, but it was purely out of laziness. After all, despite their school not having a tuition fee because it was a state university, they were paying with their souls–they joked most of the time.
Michelle had just finished sorting all the foods and water and finished estimating how they would last, but she did not report it to the Emperor immediately, feeling like it was better to do it in the supper.
Now, they were waiting for the rice to be cooked.
Once Zoe was finished with her task, he turned to the girls, and Samantha nodded.
"We will call the boys to be ready. You should call the Emperor, as well."
Zoe nodded with a smile. She turned around and went upstairs.
…
As Zoe's steps could be heard echoing, Eric had just finished a thousand push-ups, a thousand sit-ups, and a thousand squats. Now, he was quenching every time to complete the task of 15 hours of plank.
He was half-naked, wearing only a shirt as he was perspiring too much. Despite exercising excessively, with the effects, Absolute Physical Optimization, he did not suffer any repercussions. Furthermore, ever since he woke up, and then went to fight, including the Bulwark Zombie, he never drank water once.
It was all because of the effects of his Title, Perfect Energy Conservation, which even helped him reduce his sleeping time. Hence, he was planning to complete the mission tonight and then just took a rest for an hour.
Despite suffering from the consequence of entering the Last Stand Resilience, over the next hour while exercising, another effects of his Title, Supreme Regeneration Cycle, aid him to completely recover in a limited time while overworking his body.
Such a Heaven grade physique was sought from his past world.
As he started his plank, he thought, I am really thankful that I have this physique in this world. If I did not, I might have to really run away from that monster.
There was a knock on the door and he told the other side to open.
Zoe opened and politely said, after momentarily stunned to see Eric doing plank, as though not taking a rest since earlier, "Supper is about to start. I think you should prepare now."
Eric nodded and stood up.
He jumped lightly for some time, enjoying the revitalization occurring on his body.
"I will help you." As soon as she said so, Zoe instantly went to grab a towel in the hanger, and passed it to Eric.
Eric accepted it with a smile and said, "Thank you."
Zoe smiled at him and nodded.
Eric then focused on cleaning his perspiring body and noticed the impurity coming out of his body made him feel refreshed, especially once it was cleaned.
This is why, taking a shower is just out of leisure or boredom. Indeed, his body reached a state where he would never stink, even his blood's smell was sought for beasts.
Zoe noticed it, stealing a sniff, and was stunned.
Does he use cologne? I think it's a natural smell. She kept her thoughts to herself.
"It seems you have many things to say," said Eric.
Zoe was stunned, stared at him, then on his body, noticing it was slowly being shaped and muscles slowly appeared, causing her to feel embarrassed. Thankfully, she managed to compose herself and nodded.
"There is a problem, and it is Nicholas."
"Nicholas. What about him?" Eric wore a red t-shirt.
"He got into a fight with Axel. I think…"
"Say it with confidence." Eric interrupted.
Zoe gulped and nodded.
"Nicholas was being verbal about you. In defense, Axel eventually elevated the conflict into physical… almost. What do you think we should do to him?"
"What do you think?" Eric instantly returned the question to her as he sat on the bed and meditated.
Zoe was lost for words. Silence ensued for a while and she said, "I think it is better to get rid of him. He is being problematic. If killing the massive zombie earlier did not convince him, I'm afraid he will always be against you."
Eric nodded.
"Then, we'll get rid of him. But we'll look for a chance."
He meditated for a full minute while Zoe waited for him in silence. He opened his eyes and together, they proceeded for their first supper.
