Mount Myōboku, Ryūchi Cave, and Shikkotsu Forest—the three great summoning realms, existing long before Kaguya Ōtsutsuki's arrival.

Sanctuaries of sage arts.

Among them, Myōboku played the most pivotal role in history.

The Great Toad Sage—architect of destiny itself.

It taught Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki senjutsu, gifted him the Sage of Six Paths' Talisman to revive Hamura, and orchestrated Kaguya's sealing.

Though never seen in combat, its power was indisputable.

And its prophecies? Unerringly precise.

Jiraiya's lifelong quest for the Child of Prophecy stemmed from its visions.

The ultimate puppet master.

Jiraiya treaded the path lined with toad stone statues—failed sage practitioners forever frozen in agony.

He'd nearly joined their ranks.

"Little Jiraiya~"

A green toad in gray robes materialized.

"Fukasaku-sama!"

"Come. The Great Sage awaits."

The throne room housed an orange behemoth—a doctoral cap perched between warty brows, prayer beads draping its neck, the central "oil" character gleaming.

Large enough to feed a village for weeks.

Not that Jiraiya entertained such blasphemy.

"Great Toad Sage."

Silence.

Fukasaku inhaled—

"OLD MAN!"

Jiraiya's eardrums nearly ruptured.

"...Who comes?"

The ancient toad stirred.

"Must we do this every time?!" Fukasaku grumbled.

"Jiraiya."

"Jirai-who?"

"Jiraiya!"

"Who-riya?"

Just as frustration mounted, the sage finally nodded.

"Ah, little Jiraiya! Forgive this old toad's memory."

Bullshit.

Jiraiya smiled through gritted teeth. "Has a new prophecy emerged?"

"The Child of Prophecy..."

The sage's voice rasped like wind through dead leaves.

"Destruction now outweighs peace."

"What?!"

Jiraiya's blood ran cold. "Why?"

"Unknown."

Fantastic.

How was he supposed to course-correct without intel?

"Another vision came..."

The sage's milky eyes sharpened—a first in centuries.

"Myōboku's annihilation."

Fukasaku's jaw dropped.

Jiraiya's mind reeled.

An unconquerable realm, erased?

"Every toad. Even me."

Smoke curled from the sage's pipe, veiling its face.

"Who could possibly—?!"

"Unknown."

Then what good are you?!

Jiraiya barely swallowed the retort.

"Yet one clue remains..."

The sage's gaze pierced the haze.

"Eyes of singularity."

"Eyes?"

Sharingan? Byakugan? Or... Nagato's Rinnegan?

But the latter was Hagoromo's legacy—surely not a threat?

"Find this evil, Jiraiya. Eliminate him."

For the first time, fear tinged the sage's words.

Myōboku's survival hung in the balance.

Exiting the cavern, Jiraiya's mind raced.

Where to begin?

Konoha seemed logical—the Uchiha and Hyūga clans housed the most ocular kekkei genkai.

And Naruto...

Guilt pricked him. The boy had grown up parentless while he chased phantoms.

Surely Hiruzen had ensured his wellbeing?

"Fukasaku-sama, any toads near Konoha?"

"One."

A puff of smoke later, Jiraiya materialized atop steaming baths.

"Ahhh, my wise elder~"

Hot springs first. Naruto could wait.

After all, what harm could a few hours do?
