Three months until the UA entrance exam. Shin had already started training to become a full-time great hero under the care of his uncle, Doffy.
Sweat slid down from Shin's brows, his hands on his knees as he breathed profusely after the long hour of training.
"Get back up, Shin," Doffy muttered.
"One second, uncle."
Shin managed to stabilize his breath as he picked himself up, feeling the warm breeze against his soft skin.
"Say, uncle Doffy…"
"Hmph?" Doflamingo raised an eyebrow.
"Can you teach me how to control someone with my quirk, just like you and Dad?"
"Sure. I'll show you the trick."
Okay, breathe in and breathe out… in and out…
With a deep breath, Doflamingo shot a piece of string into Shin's body without him realizing he would be the victim for the demonstration.
"Hey, you just shot a string into me!"
"Calm down, Shin. Just pay attention and watch carefully."
I'll get both you and Dad for this, I promise…
Doflamingo raised his hand toward his chest while pointing at Shin, who stood still. "You can still move your body, right?" Doflamingo asked.
"Yeah, I can."
"Okay, watch closely." Doflamingo tilted his fingers continuously as Shin felt his body twitch little by little until he had no control over it anymore. Doflamingo had already taken control of Shin's body, forcing him to do push-ups until he finally set him free.
"Awesome," Shin muttered, glancing at how his uncle had taken control so easily—just like his dad had done during their sparring session the other day.
"With time, you'll get it. For now, let's focus on your training. It's just a few months until the UA examination," Doflamingo stated.
"Sure."
Time drifted faster than usual as the days came and went, with Shin pushing himself past his limits every single day to avoid failing the upcoming exam.
Whether chubby and bald or an average person, power was what mattered—and Shin had evolved enormously.
He trained relentlessly with his uncle, enduring rainy days, sunny days, and even nights, all to achieve his dream. His muscles ache terribly as he lay on the floor, covered in mud and leaves, staring at the sky while rain drizzled over the city.
One month left to go!
Shin clenched his fist against the mud with a smirk as the rain showered upon him. He hopped up with determination, ready to prepare for tomorrow's training before making his way home.
"Never thought Korea would be so nice," he hummed to himself, walking home with bruises covering his body.
"I'm home!" Shin exclaimed, unlocking the door with the key his uncle had given him before heading upstairs to wash up and call his parents.
He sank into the tub filled with warm water, letting out a sigh as he leaned his back against the wall. After washing up, he dried himself, his bald head reflecting the ceiling light in the mirror.
"I wonder how many girls I'll get in high school," he mused. "Guess I'll call Dad for now."
He slipped into his pajamas, picked up his 'One Punch Man' manga, and lay on the bed. He giggled to himself, indulging in lewd thoughts before the aroma of food wafting from the kitchen downstairs caught his attention.
"Uncle never fails to amaze me with his cooking skills. I wonder if high school girls love guys who can cook." Tossing the manga aside, he hopped out of bed and headed downstairs for dinner.
"Take your seat, Shin. I'll dish out the food," Doflamingo called from the kitchen.
The atmosphere was lively as Doflamingo shared stories of his old days. "Uncle, do you think girls love boys who can cook?"
"Yep. It's easy to win a girl's heart with cooking."
"Awesome. I guess I'll learn how to cook before going back to Japan."
"Sure. Make sure to get the prettiest girl at UA."
"Hehe, trust me, uncle. I'll even make my beautiful teachers fall for me."
"Woah, woah—take it easy, Shin."
The house remained bright as Shin cleared the plates, washing the dishes while his uncle retreated to his room to watch the news.
Once finished, Shin returned to his room and unplugged his fully charged smartphone. He leaned against the wall, initiating a FaceTime call with his dad. The phone rang, but his dad didn't answer.
Before he could redial, his phone buzzed—his mom and little sister, Rika, appeared on the screen.
"Good evening, Mom, Dad, Rika,"Shin greeted his family with a wide smile.
"Good evening, Shin. How are you doing?"
"I'm great! Mom, Dad, I'm really loving life here in Korea."
"Really? That's wonderful. Are you getting along with your uncle?"
"Yeah! And guess what… I think I'm ready for the exam."
"That's my baby boy! When are you coming back to Japan?"
"Hmm… I think I'll be back two weeks from now. I still have more to learn from Uncle Doffy."
"Alright, son. Take care. Goodnight."
"Goodnight. Love you guys."* Shin waved before ending the call. He checked the time—9:15 PM—before resuming his manga.
I'm tired!!
The cold night breeze was soothing, the stars shining brightly as Shin gazed at the moon through his window. "Guess I'll call it a night." With a deep breath, he dozed off, leaving the bedroom lights on.
The sound of chirping birds woke Shin, who found himself on the floor. "Time for training!" He thanked the birds before rushing to brush his teeth and wash his face.
The weather was perfect—the morning breeze was calm and cool as Shin jogged to the training ground. He began with a warm-up: 50 sit-ups, 50 push-ups, and 50 squats to prepare his body.
Afterward, he took a deep breath, exhaled slowly, and assumed his battle stance. Activating his quirk, strings emerged from his hands.
Pivoting toward a nearby tree, he swung his hand, his strings extending and slicing through multiple trees. He backflipped away, firing string bullets from his fingertips.
"I'm not done!" Charging forward, he cut down more trees before launching a string upward, swinging onto a large branch.
Why do I feel like Spider-Man?!
From atop the tree, he admired the view, sweat dripping from his brow—until a hiss interrupted him. A massive snake gazed at him from below.
"Wanna fight?" Shin leaped down, performing a front flip midair and landing a heavy kick—which the snake dodged. "Oh? You've got some guts."
The snake hissed, lunging at Shin, who swiftly latched a string to a tree and swung away, evading the attack.
"Is that all you've got, big fella?" Shin smirked from above. The snake coiled around the tree, forcing Shin to jump down—only for its tail to strike him, sending him crashing into another tree.
As the snake charged recklessly, Shin stretched out his hands and tilted his fingers—freezing the creature mid-strike. "I did it, uncle!"
Unnoticed by the snake, Shin had embedded a string into it. Now in control, he forced it to slice itself into five pieces.
Blood splattered across the environment, coating Shin as he headed home. Thanks to his uncle's training, he had mastered his quirk—ready to face UA, surpass All Might, and become the greatest hero the world had ever seen…
