Synopsis
“In the world of lies, truth isn’t just hidden—it’s rewritten. What you see is what you're meant to believe, but not what is. Reality here is sculpted, manufactured, worn like a costume. And the deeper you look, the more you realize the world itself is a lie.” Not a truth been told, not a lie you haven't seen. In the fractured continent of Veritas, truth is not sacred—it’s a casualty. Twenty masked nations survive on deception, bound by treaties inked in lies and ruled by those who lie best. But at the center of this web is the Game: a deadly contest of manipulation, misdirection, and survival. Some play to climb. Others play because they must. And in every generation, two legends are whispered: the Liar King—who will rule by perfect deceit—and the Lie Eater—who will tear the Game apart with raw truth. In Veritas, a mask is more than disguise—it is law, weapon, and identity. To walk unmasked is an act of war. Children learn to lie before they learn to write, and nobles duel not with swords, but with implication and silence. Truth corrodes; lies evolve. But now, something has shifted. Rumors stir of an heir born without a mask. Ancient alliances fracture overnight. Entire houses collapse under secrets whispered in the wrong ear. Some say the Liar King is rising. Others believe the Lie Eater walks among them. And caught in the spiral are those who still seek truth—however fragile, however doomed. As Veritas teeters on the edge of unraveling, a single question echoes behind every smile, every betrayal, every mask: “Deception isn’t a tactic. It’s the blood of the Game.” The Liar King is a psychological fantasy thriller where truth is a weapon, lies are currency, and only those who understand both can hope to endure. In this world, perception is power—and no mask stays on forever. Author’s Note This is a work of fiction. Chapter 1 - THE LIAR KING CHAPTER 1: THE CROWN OF LIES

The Masked Heir Arc

(Truth)

I speak of what few dare admit: the world we inhabit isn't built on virtue, no, it's built on illusions.

Lies are the scaffolding of power, whispered in thrones, etched into treaties, worn like armor.

Deception isn't just a tactic; it's the currency of survival, the blood of the game.

Every smile conceals intent. Every promise hides a blade.

In the great game, truth isn't king, it's a sacrifice.

But even the sharpest falsehood dulls with time. Lies corrode.

Truth, though buried, does not die. It waits, like a storm.

(Liar)

You mistake decay for weakness.

Lies don't corrode; they evolve.

Truth is brittle—it breaks under weight, under fear, under ambition.

The world rewards those who bend the story, not those who bear it.

You cling to your ideals. I'll wield what works.

It's not noble perhaps. But It's necessary, in this world the strong survive and the weak are eaten, devoured, so why do you stare with disgust? And contemptment I do what is necessary, in this world it is better to be a monster than be devoured by such monster.

(Truth)

There's necessity, and then there's rot.

Lies may win the moment, but they cannot build what lasts.

You can stack deceit into towers, but they will fall.

And when they do, when the dust clears—the ones who stood by truth will remain.

We may lose battles, but we survive history.

(Liar)

History remembers victors.

And victors write the truth, why do you choose such naiveness? is your perspective truly this limited, pain and suffering are inevitable, .

(Truth)

forever, no, a lie always remains a lie, fragile and weak, but opening your eyes, looking at reality raw, that is what people fear the most, or perhaps their eyes are perfect, and it is the world that is hideous.

(Liar)

Then let's see, if you're willing to be this persistent, but I can't lie, I see it in your eyes, this world is a world of deception, you have been fighting what was natural this whole time, are you not tired, or does only perseverance remain in your heart.

But something about you, I thought the truth would be more bright, but you look.

(Truth)

"You think I'm broken. You see weariness and think of defeat. But this, this is what survival looks like without surrender. You built your throne on lies, crowned yourself in shadow, and called it strength. But strength without truth is rot wrapped in gold.

Yes, I've bled. I've lost. I've been buried beneath your deception. But I rose. Not because I lied better—but because the truth endures. It does not glitter. It does not seduce. But it stands. And when your empire of illusions crumbles, and it will, I won't be the one forgotten.

You chose to be a monster to survive. I chose to be human, and still I stand. So now choose: rule the ashes... or face the storm."

(Liar)

I choose to face the storm, but know this at last, your cities are not your cities nor your your great palaces yours, it belongs to me now, I have come the enslave humanity.

So let us see, who's life's end shall this place be.

The Liar King or the Lie Eater.
