-BUNGAKU HIGHSCHOOL, TOKYO, JAPAN-
-MONDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2016-
Basaki, Chuujou, and Chihara approached Leah for a talk.
"Hey, Boutsuki-san, do you celebrate halloween?" Chuujou asked.
"Uhm, not exactly, but I don't hate it." Leah replied.
"Great, how about this weekend?" Basaki asked.
Leah replied "Pardon me, what do you mean?"
"We heard the mall's celebrating the halloween this weekend." said Chihara.
Basaki added "That's right, we wanted to come with you."
"U-uhm, I don't know if I'm available. Usually, I study every weekend..." said Leah
"Oh, are you sure about that?" Chuujou asked with an evil-smiley face.
Basaki whispered as a reply to what Leah have said "Daikuhara-san will come y'know?"
Leah blushed as she was shy. She thought to herself "Gosh, why am I blushing? Do I like him? No! We're nothing more than an acquaintance, classmate, and groupmate!"
The three of them giggled as they saw Leah blushing.
"Well then, take your time to decide, okay? We'll be waiting...maybe, Daikuhara-san as well." said Basaki then she giggled again.
Leah looked at Jousuke and surprised at what she saw—Jousuke was looking at her. Leah looked away with even more blushes.
In spite of Leah's thoughts, Jousuke was just simply asking himself "Will Boutsuki-san accept me as her friend?"
Suddenly, someone tapped Jousuke's shoulder—it's Natsu.
"Oh, you finally attended class again. I've heard that you had a flu. Is that right?"
Leah was secretly eavesdropping. She thought to herself "That's right, Date-san had a flu. He was scary." then she remembered what happened last thursday.
As Natsu replied to Jousuke, Leah continued listening.
"Yeah, who told you that? Oh, could it be... Boutsuki-san?" Natsu asked with laughter.
Leah blushed again and thought to herself "Forget this, I won't listem to them anymore!"
"No, she didn't. Asa did last friday." said Jousuke with a calm face.
"Oh man, you're such a killjoy!" said Natsu.
Leah once again overheard their conversation and felt at ease and thought to herself "Yeah, I'm relieved that he's a maturde man."
As Leah overheard, Jousuke then added to his statement "I'll be happier if she did too." then he thought to himself "Well, Asa seemed to be a lot more angrier than ever last friday."
Leah misinterpreted what Jousuke have said and once again blushed. She thought to herself "What the heck, Daikuhara-san!? What the heck!?"
-STUDENT COUNCIL'S OFFICE-
In the student council's office, the officers—the president, vice president, secretary, communication officer, and public relations representative was sitting and preparing for a meeting.
"Good morning, is everyone here now?" the president—Aria Poku asked.
The vice president—Kaede Miyazaki replied "No, it seems like our dear treasurer still hasn't arrived yet."
The public relations representative—Jin Asano added "Well, this isn't the first time he's late. I wouldn't be surprised."
"I suppose we should start now, shall we?" the communication officer—Ryouka Jouho asked.
"As the secretary, I think we should wait for 5 minutes. We shouldn't tolerate actions like this but he's still one of us so we have to be considerate." said the secretary—Midori Jitsukawa.
All of them commented about Jitsukawa's opinion.
"I agree."
"All right."
"That's not too bad."
"I mean, it's fine."
Four and a half minutes have passed and the treasurer hasn't still arrived. The president—Poku is starting to lose her patience.
The president suddenly spoke "Almost five minutes have passed and he's still not here, are we supposed to do something now?"
The vice president—Miyazaki replied "I guess we should sta-" but she was interrupted by treasurer—Kenshin Esashi's entrance.
"I'm really sorry guys. I used the restroom for too long." said the treasurer—Esashi.
"This is the seventh time in a row with the same excuse, Esashi-kun. Just because we give you consideration everytime, doesn't mean you have to abuse our kindness." said the president—Poku.
"Yeah, my bad." said Esashi then he sat down.
"Anyways, this is another formal meeting of us, I hope we all show professionalism." said the secretary—Jitsukawa.
As the public relations representative—Asano chuckled, he removed his feet on the table.
"All right. Once again, good morning everyone. As we all know, the halloween's exactly 1 week away. Our dear principal Darika Okabayashi, asked the student council to host an event or program about halloween. All the teachers has been told about this. Meaning, it is decided. But they didn't give an exact theme nor activities for the halloween. Do you guys have any suggestions regarding the topic?" said the president—Poku.
"I do. As we all know, we're high school students now. We won't enjoy the upcoming halloween event that much if we're just going to do something that a pre-school student does in halloween. So I'm thinking what if we ask the principal if she can allow cosplay or make-up for that specific day only." said the public relations representative—Asano.
"Uhm, wouldn't that be too childish? I mean, it's a great idea. But only middle schoolers does that, right?" said the treasurer-Esashi.
"I oppose your statement. I think the make-up would be great; the cosplay is somehow too unprofessional. If the principal would allow the make-up, we may propose make-up contest with 2 representative each class. However, the cosplay would make us students use a lot of money for specific costumes; it is also unprofessional because we attend school, we shouldn't dress inside our school that isn't our uniform." said the vice president—Miyazaki.
"But wouldn't make-ups cost too much as well? I mean, if that's the case, our fellow students' parents might give a complaint about finances." said the secretary—Jitsukawa.
"Well, you're not very wrong, I suppose. But I think if we won't go with Asano-kun's idea, we would run out of thoughts. How about we vote on whose opinion should we follow?" the communication officer—Jouho asked.
"All right, that should settle it. Who'll vote for Asano-kun's idea?" the president—Poku asked.
As the president asked, three of the officers raised their hands: the public relations representative—Asano, the vice president—Miyazaki, and the communication officer—Jouho.
"A-all right. Then who votes for Esashi-kun's opinion?" the president—Poku asked once again.
As the president asked, another three of the officers raised their hands: the treasurer—Esashi, the president—Poku, and the secretary—Jitsukawa.
The public relations representative—Asano sighed and said "Well, it's a tie. What should we do to finalize our decision now?"
"That leaves us no choice, we have to ask someone's opinion that isn't a student council's officer." said the president—Poku.
"Oh, that's great! I have a friend who knows how to criticize situations very well!" said the treasurer—Esashi.
Esashi, Asano, and Poku walked in the hallway. All of the students gave way to them as their sign of respect for the student council's officers.
As the three of them walked, Esashi thought to himself "Why are they staring at us? We're not monsters, we're humans. I hate these people's eyes, they make me feel so awkward."
As they reached their destination, which is a classroom, the three of them entered. The students inside the room were shocked as the officers went straight to a man's table.
"We need you. Come with us, Daikuhara-kun." said Kenshin—the treasurer.
Jousuke was shocked and thought to himself "Why does the student council need me? I have a bad feeling about this."
Leah stared at them in shock and thought to herself "Daikuhara-san, did you do something wrong?" with a worrying face.
"Oh, it's you, Kenshin!" said Natsu as he was standing besides Jousuke.
"Yeah. I can't believe you're still classmates huh, Daikuhara-kun and Date-kun." said Kenshin.
"Uhm, pardon me, but did I do something wrong?" Jousuke asked.
"No, you didn't, Daikuhara-kun. We need your assistance. Esashi-kun told us that you have a good critical thinking skills. Therefore, you'd be a great helper for us." said Poku.
"If that's the case, then sure." said Jousuke.
Jousuke stood up and followed the student council as they left the classroom.
